It's back! What are these exchanges, you wonder? They're art/fic exchanges, similar to this or this or this! The basic idea, if you don't want to click any links, is that this is a "creative secret santa," i.e. each person signs up, then each person is randomly assigned someone to create something for someone else who signed up. Good? Good! The twist on this one is that you leave a list of characters/settings/whatever you would like a gift for, and then you also leave 3 prompts for the person who's assigned to you to get inspiration from. Some Formal Guidelines (yes this is copied + pasted) 1. Adhere to proboards + forum rules of conduct. 2. At minimum, gifted art-pieces should be colored and shaded with one character. 3. At minimum, gifted writing pieces should be at least 1000 words long for prose, edited and proofread. 4. You may request modifications to rules 2 + 3 as long as the time investment is roughly similar(for example, drawing two non-shaded characters or a short poem, or a longer script-format, or composing a piece of music, or something.) But tell me about them first. 5. Do not trashpost. Regardless of the genre you choose to depict, try your best with your piece! 6. Try not to post your piece too publicly until the show-off date. 7. It seems that I moved a number of files onto a flash drive during an earlier digital spring cleaning, including character refs, and I know I'll just keep putting this off if I try and sort through my flash drives to find everything first. So, apologies if needed, but I'll just be offering up my Neopets characters since all their refs are easily accessible to me! That is, everyone but Zathandria, since she's usually first pick and I want to give the others more chance haha

Jonathon: Shy goth guy who grew up in Faerie Castle with his two adoptive Faerie moms and adoptive sister. Has magical abilities (usually fire magic) and magic weapon skills (favors Wand of Ultranova) that he's trained most of his life, and magic in general is important to him. Loves music, obviously goth-adjacent genres, and some of his favorite bands are Twisted Roses and Sticks n' Stones. Also loves food and trying out new dishes, although it may be difficult for others to see some of the stuff he's willing to try.
Cherry: Cheery and energetic, grew up in an orphanage in Happy Valley before being adopted by Twillie. Loves meeting new people and gets along with just about everybody that she encounters. Always curious about the world around her, to the point where the mountain is starting to feel like not enough space for her. Innocent and optimistic, but with a tricky/snarky side that she's picked up from Zathandria. She loves arts and crafts and making cute things to decorate her room and nest with. Twillie: Kind but slightly eccentric, grew up in Shenkuu with Zathandria before moving the both of them to the top of Terror Mountain. She naturally puts the needs of others before her own and has been in the caretaker role since becoming an adult, although this has also forced her to take on extra responsibilities early on, including taking a dead end job at a local newspaper. Regularly experiences a high level of emotion which paints her as odd in the eyes of most Valley residents, although this also means that she has a lot of love to give to those close to her. Cooking is therapeutic for her, and she also enjoys reading and writing, spending a lot of her free time journaling. Your 3 prompts:

Let's do this thing. I'm in! *determined pose* Possible characters you would like drawn/written (up to 4): Grey, Astrophelle, Hexaline. References and descriptions:GreyGrey was the champion of an angelic being, until he ditched all that to babysit an evil child and work for her eldritch space dad. Grey is hedonistic and arrogant, but has a soft spot for kids and wants his young charges to be okay. He is currently a consort to Strahd von Zarovich, a notorious vampiric count, because he figured that sounded better than working for aforementioned eldritch space dad.  His hair is metallic silver due to his former angelic connections, the rapier is magenta. He can summon a pair of spooky smoky wings, which are nonfunctional, perhaps due to the shadowy chains binding them down. Sometimes he just wears a plain grey hoodie when he is having a rough day. Normally, he is a little more flashy. Astrophelle is a kind and optimistic soul, dedicated to helping others, often at the expense of her own safety. She volunteers as a healer in the city of Diamondheart, and in her free time can often be found at the local teahouse relaxing with friends. She has a soft spot for sappy romantic novels. Astro's HeroForge model:  Her right hand is a crystalline prosthetic, up until just past the elbow. Her skin is covered in stars and nebulaic markings...those are just impossible to represent with HeroForge. xD The wings are deep blue brushed with gold. But they were a later acquisition, she hasn't always had those. And here is some art by Celes (from the old genre swap event), clearly displaying her beautiful starry markings! <3 This was back when she had only recently gained her wings, and they were incorporeal and only manifested on occasion.  Hexaline is the adopted daughter of three powerful but reclusive fey witches. Hexie herself is expected to replace one of them when they die, but she would much rather travel the world and see exciting new things...if only she can muster the courage to break this to her mothers. She is generally a cheerful young woman, excited to explore and discover new things!!!  Hexaline has a single lock of grey hair, long claws tipping each finger, and always carries a picnic basket filled with potions and snacks. The necklace around her neck bears the name 'Elizabeth'. Right, I am going to be copying some of my entries from GenreSwap, but switching out a few characters. This is probably a bad idea but dangit, I wanna have fun and get shiny art of my characters too. Apologies if this is rushed, I am skimming in at the last minute. Selwyn of AnchiraliMy latest DnD character, a centaur druid who has replaced Meallan temporarily as my player character. Art reference: A sketch here and his colour scheme is on Hero ForgeSelwyn is a Circle of the Shepherd druid who is also a Shetland pony centaur. Standing at only five feet tall, he is a very gentle, soft (in all senses of the word), friendly and loving fellow. He is in constant communication with the spirits of nature and holds nature in great regard, respecting its majesty, beauty, kindness, and tempermental nature. He is very wise, possessing a great deal of life experience, and takes great joy and pride in helping people. At the same time, he loves to have a good time, often being found where there is a party to be had. He enjoys singing, good food, wine, and best of all, great company. His heart is enormous and open to all. It's very hard to get on his bad side, as he is an empathetic, gentle creature who is not easy to anger. Basically, think of Tolkien's hobbits with the wisdom of Gandalf, except a shaman and a pony. He comes from a beautiful mountainous home where he learned his trade after nearly dying and being rescued by a fellow mage and shaman. Though he loves to travel, he has a fond space in his heart for his homeland, with its high hills, deep valleys, and rippling springs. Tabitha KingsleyTech superhero from, well, a superhero RP. Art references here, here and hereTabitha's first post. Tabitha is a tech-based superhero as a side job and an opera singer as her main job. She is not tech-y herself but her mother makes most of her technology for her. Personality-wise, she is distinct by being a Proper English Lady: polite, educated, elegant and giving off an aura of class. She can be quite flamboyant and show-y in her work too. There is a maternal air to her in many of her interactions, but she is no pushover. Willing to take charge if push comes to shove but it also just as happy to work with others. Extraverted is a good word for her. She can be flirtatious as well if you give her an excuse (see: all her interactions with Espin in Hero City). Adores cats. Always exceptionally dapper whether in or out of costume. Incredible singer (since she works in opera) and is a coloratura soprano in terms of voice. Alain StallionThe Grand Duke of Bern from the Medieval RP. Powerful, confident to the point of arrogance, always cool and collected...probably a bit too much. Cold as ice. Right here if you don't feel like skimming through his entry. Fionn ColbySelkie from a...sci-fi, urban fantasy mystery with slice of life elements? I don't even know what Wrighton is. Art can be found here and hereFionn's intro post. A very sweet but lazy selkie. Loves all the fine things in life and prefers to not pay for any of it. Fionn takes things as they come without much concern for the past, the future or how people see him. He is, however, kind and certainly not so selfish as to put his happiness ahead of others. A flirt: will hit on a pretty girl but knows when to back away. The simplest out of all my characters. Plays the saxophone, turns into a fat grey seal if he puts on his seal skin. Lili:  Hailing from the tourist town of Aifam Cove, she is a people-pleasing accountant and lifestyle Lolita. She is actually 26, despite being small and doll-like. She pretends to be a fortune teller in the tourist season. Loves pastel blue, tea, and teddy bears. Prone to spouting random probabilities, and finds comfort in climbing to high places. She works with her friend Alma.  A teenage tailor who wants to be a hero and save innocents in distress. Has eccentric tastes in fashion, a cheerful temperament and a heirloom sword. She likes LARP, and really, really likes her best friend Kaldora. Due to her albinism, she always wears a hood, and has bad vision. She tends to stand too close to people and misread situations. She is eager to spring into action, and gets science and magic mixed up.  She is an easy-going weather spirit-- a being of air and magic. She is compassionate and playful, and is a good friend to The Flamingo and the friendly witch who's garden she inadvertently became trapped in. While she is gentle by nature, she becomes a bit sharp-tongued when provoked, whether by The Flamingo's grumpiness or her ongoing rivalry with Airin, a more mischievous aery spirit.   Vyn is a rabbitfolk shadow sorceress. Stealthy under the cover of darkness, but by day a conspicuous 3' tall fluff ball with unblinking silver eyes. She is an energetic and spontaneous adventurer driven by a sense of destiny and fairy luck to help those who cannot help themselves. This vibrancy is despite being in a state between life and death from crossing into the Shadowfell on her journey. Her vegetarian cooking and ink drawing skills are top notch. Your 3 prompts: Alternate Universe. This can be as broad as a genre swap or just involve the changing of key character aspects. Spooky. Halloween cheesiness, actual horror, or just general eeriness. I love all of it, so if you take this prompt pick the mode of spooky that is the most fun for you to work with. Dreams. Good dreams, bad dreams, plain surrealism. *grabs eveyrone's attention* Now it's time for me, the amazingly beautiful Snaw, to unveil my four characters and prompts! Yes, I'm as excited as you all to unveil what my genius imagination has cook up for this lil' event! Note: Only one of my characters has a description. I'm not picky with the other three, so choose whatever colours you want.Character 1: Ballerina Snaw Always graceful, Ballerina Snaw enthralls audiences with their trés bien ballet form! Verse dine very ballet routine known to the cosmos and dressed in a beautifully frilly ballet outfit, this character stall steal your heart with a single leap! Character Two: Lenny The wacky best friend of Wendy, Lenny is a character that has changed various forms and species. His current form is a stealth Uni, but you can make them into any colour or species you want. Lenny's main hobbies are being fabulous, fashion magazines, picnics and cooking tasty recipes. Introduction.Character 3: Charlie the Llama The only non-Snaw character, Charlie is a purple llama with a white heart-shaped mark on his side.
