Next game TBD I started running monthly tabletop role-playing games in February 2021, and I've been running a different gamebook from my vast library every month since! I'm open to requests for new gamebooks as well. The post that started it all for the very first game in this series, Magic Clean Up Service, is below. I will be running a Tabletop RPG one-shot: Magic Cleanup Service by W.H Arthur. As I am working full time and my weekend is Wednesday and Thursday, these are the only days of the week I can run this. I am aiming for this game to be a single session either next week or the week after, and I have a large library of TTRPGs I can run at a latter time if there is sustained interest. Description: Magical accident happens, and we can't just hire some muggle cleaners to sweep it under the rug. While other "cool" wizards may save the world or teach at highly irresponsible education institutions, your job is no less important. Now go pick up your broom and cleanup some magical mess! It can take 2-5 characters (plus MC), but we could probably do some two-headed creature or shared role if we wind up with 6 interested. MCS is short, chaotic, and fun. It is an original system and only requires six-sided dice. Who would be interested?
If you are, please share your day availability by the poll.
Also: What time of day would work best? What target hour length would be most fun to you? How silly or serious?

Consider me free anytime, I've got a very flexible schedule right now so I can make things work on any day! I also don't have any times that are a hard no, and I'm willing to work with time zones.
I suppose in general at least, I'd prefer not to do anything before 8am CST or after 10pm CST.
I've never really done something like this before, so I'm not sure the typical expected length they run. Is it usually a couple hours, maybe?
I'm perfectly fine with silly! Since it's a one off, silly will make it easier for me not to get attached xD (and I'd imagine can make for more reasonable time, so that there's not too much character development and drama trying to be squeezed in)

I'm definitely interested! I admit I'm not the best roleplayer (despite having some exprience/practice) but this sounds super fun! Here are my answers:
What time of day would work best? Afternoon/Evenings would work best for me, I think. Anytime between maybe 4pm- 11pm CST would be ideal What target hour length would be most fun to you? 2-3 hours How silly or serious? I'd say middle of the road? I definitely appreciate the freedom to make jokes and be spontaneous and silly, but I also like taking the quest seriously and not just goofing off.

I mentioned before that I was interested, but my week just got busier and I think I'll be too tired on the day I do have available, Thursday evening. And I won't know about next week until Thursday.
All that to say, I think I'll just have to miss out this time, but everyone else, please enjoy!

While the exact time is TBD, I am planning to run the game on this Wednesday, the 24th, and for it to go between 2-3 hours. Anyone who is interested, please let me know so I can assign character sheets!

This does sound fun!! Wednesday’s coming up fast, but I miiiight be able to check this out if you need more people? =o I haven’t done much tabletop before, but if ever there was a nice group of people to start with. x3
Times are a little tricky— 11 AM to 4 PM CST would be best for me, or super late, like 10 PM CST, but I could do in between if I know in advance how to shuffle my schedule around!

Hey, if you're still looking for players, I think I'm interested in "short, chaotic, and fun"! The selected date and runtime works well for me. I'd prefer the evening, but anything after 12:30 p.m. CST would be alright for me.

Me: Wait, how is RielCZ free on a Wednesday evening? He's in Americaland D&D with me! ... oh wait. It's a Thrrasir campaign week, not Temphere, huh? That makes sense now. XD It's lucky I'm in both because I'm terrible at keeping track as you can see, haha

Ah, yes Ginz ❤ , I made sure to check and not vote for the date on which the Temphere campaign happens. XD But also, good point! Americaland DND is that night from 7-9 CST.

So, theoretically speaking, if I was interested, would it be too late to throw my hat into the ring? I know the one shot is tomorrow, buuut it does look fun.
I do have Americaland D&D from 8pm-10pm EST, so that time is a hard no from me. If it happens to be during a time I can't join in on, that's fine, I'm cool with sitting out.
I hope you guys have fun regardless. ^^

RielCZRabbit ♠The current game time is 12-3 CST/1-4 EST tomorrow. Would noon CST work, or do we need to shift again? Like this post to confirm your interest; I'll add you to the game group on Discord.

So... Did the game happen? How did it go? I'd like to hear about it!

This did happen! Pixie came up with all kinds of great, wacky, and really creative scenarios for us, and we had a good time. ^^
Uhhmm, basically, let's see, our cleanup crew was composed of: Kassandra the Time Wizard (Ginz), Mr. Jinx the Apotropaic Magician (Riel), Beryl the Summoner (Lizica), Apin the Conjurer (Rabbit), and Felicity the Broom Specialist (Twillie)!
One of us can probably go into deeper detail if people are interested, but the setting was a magical library with a slew of messes, and a couple particular highlights include: Trying to get rid of a giant mass of chocolate raspberry pudding, a hexed and very chaotic bat niece, Peter the Toad mocking the party (but eventually earning his tolerance), Broom-Fu becoming combative, a giant plastic dinosaur with a top hat getting portaled away to a children's playground, and the mess perpetrators getting banned from the library henceforth with a fancy sign to boot.
(Feel free to add on!! And thanks, all. ^^)

Yeah, it was a great time! It was fun and chaotic and I really enjoyed how Pixie managed to twist some of my character's backstory (having a hexed niece, Angela) into a fair bit of the pudding-covered plot. Lizica mentioned many highlights. Some other ones I can think of are Mr. Jinx attracting pudding down from the ceiling with a chubby voodoo doll and later pied-pipering a bunch of mice out of the library, Apin getting a mouse friend, Felicity hitting bat!Angela with a broom, Mr. Jinx and his lunch buddy Kassandra reversing Angela's curse, some rotting pea soup in a water cooler that was incredibly difficult to get rid of (but later Beryl teleported it to a nearby terrible restaurant), a wall of bubbles turning to plastic (with a slippery hole to get through), and disappearing a comfy chair to the roof (where it can be enjoyed by all the birds and squirrels). So yeah, good times! It was fun playing with everyone. Also I realized afterward that accidentally ripped off Mr. Jinx's company "Voodoo and Things (TM)" from Monkey Island, oh well. XD

The first session was pretty fun, so I'm planning another game for the "weekend" after my Birthday-- either Wednesday, the 24th, or Thursday, the 25th. I will be delving back into my library to run either Threadbare or Costume Fairy Adventures. Both of these use six-sided dice and their own rulebooks, run 2-3 hrs, suit 2-6 players, and star functionally immortal creatures in minimal combat settings,.
Threadbare is a stitchpunk post-apoc adventure game staring toys, focused on making, mending, and friendships. Costume Fairy Adventures is an adapatable fantasy adventure game staring mischievous fairies with cosplay powers, focused on fae magic and shenanigans.
Both games are also bit more mechanically complex than the previous game, so more prep will be involved, mostly on my end. So, if interested, please vote on your preferences for game and day! If your favorite isn't chosen this round, do not fear! I like both, so whatever doesn't get run this month may be offered in a future session. In addition to voting, it would help if you can post your preferences for gamebook, day, and time of day. Please post as well with your preference for tone, as both games have mechanisms to skew either silly or moderately serious.
