*FALLS IN* Hey, it's been a while! I last posted here in November of last year, so I guess we have a bit of catching up to do! December wasn't super productive for me in terms of art, but I did draw this sort of sci-fi Tinker Bell for Project for Awesome. It was like an art commission, but rather than paying me directly, the person who requested it donated to the P4A. It's something a few artists did around tumblr, fulfilling P4A requests. I only got one, but at the same time, I mean... yay, I got one! XD I didn't know if I'd get any, but I did and I got to contribute in that way, and that was really cool. =D  I also redrew an old Neopets drawing for the Forum Fogey Art Fun event here! You've probably all already seen it, but I'm cross-posting it here because I like this thread to be a record of my art so I can look back on it in the future if I want!  And then the holidays happened, and 2017 came around... (to be continued...) |

So, I started 2017 with a cold and no inspiration to draw. Then, on January 7th, Kozma sent everyone their warm fuzzies... and wow. I was overwhelmed with kindness and happy feelings, and I was also surprised because the vast majority of them mentioned my art, so that was very nice and encouraging! And then that night as I was about to go to bed, I came across an art meme on tumblr that seemed like fun, so I wanted to try it! So, the idea is that people send me a Neopets paint brush color and a character and I have to draw them! I don't know what it was about them... I don't know if I've just been excited or I'm running on warm fuzzy power or if I just have all this pent up energy from not drawing for a while, but I've been SO MOTIVATED to getting them done, and I've been drawing SO MUCH the past few days... and I want to show you! =D So here are the requests I've drawn: Alyssa asked for Animal Crossing Kiki in Faerie and Baby! =D (well, she said OR, but I did AND XD)   Nut asked for Maraquan Lapis Lazuli:  Lord Hayati asked for Maraquan Ginz, and at first I thought I'd be funny and be like, here I am!  ... but then I actually did draw a more serious one, though still inspired by Luvdisc XD  Tiger asked for Faerie Blathers, and I was actually stumped on it for a little while, because... how do you turn an owl into a faerie? But the faerie 'bird' Neopets are kind of just more 'majestic' versions of themselves (Lenny = peacock and Pteri = Phoenix) and since there's the joke that Blathers looks like Rowlet, I decided to try and draw evolved Decidueye Blathers! 8D  and Kozma asked for Plushie Fidget from Dust: An Elysian Tail  ** Just... look at that! I'm honestly so proud of myself. 6 pictures in the span of 4 days! (I mean, 7 if you count the joke Luvdisc, but that one must have taken like 5 minutes, so I'm not counting it XD) This is unheard of from me! I know these aren't very elaborate or anything, but I'm feeling really happy, and I actually like how all of them came out. (I hope you guys who requested them liked them too!) And yeah, I don't know... going by this fantastic start, it looks like 2017 will be a good year for art for me. Let's hope it is! =D |

I drew these BFFs!  One time, Moe said to me “Leonardo and I are like brothers! I wonder who the older brother would be. I always share my cookies with him, so I guess it’d be me!” I thought that was really sweet, and I really wanted to draw it! I find their friendship very charming because Moe is a Lazy personality type and Leonardo is a Jock, so they're kind of opposites? But apparently they get along really well!! Leonardo attended Moe's birthday back in January too. It's so perfect, I bet the cat club brought them together!! 8D |

Hey... it's been a while, hasn't it? So, Nat encouraged a few of us to draw pictures for Fyora Day, and I joined in the fun! =D I just submitted mine, so I hope it's safe to share it here now:  * Also, bonus: Hank Green has been livestreaming his guitar practice lately, to get ready to perform at Vidcon, so he gets online and takes requests of which of his songs to play. I actually haven't caught either of his streams so far when they're live, but I watched them later, because it's fun to tune into casual unpolished mini-concerts... and this time I decided to try to doodle him while he played, which was really hard because he wouldn't stop moving, of course. XDD (I mean, I could have paused it, but where's the fun in that? The point was to have something to do while I listened to the songs!) But yeah, it was fun! I took a screenshot so you can imagine what I was seeing. XD |

Can I just say that Fyora's eyes look gorgeous? <3 Also, nice study! Haha, I'll get inspired to doodle random videos or images as well, and it can be a fun venture into drawing something you may not be used to :3 For future reference, you might try screenshotting the video and then working from that image, so that you can still listen to music and also have a static reference (unless you want to live life on the edge and tame the wild, rowdy ref x3) |

Today on another thrilling episode of 'Ginz redraws art from 2003'... I bring you Harry Potter Fanart, A Work In Progress! So, on June 26th this year, it was the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. I saw a lot of people drawing fanart in tribute, and I wanted to join in, but I didn't know what to draw. I felt like it had to be something really special, to show just how much of an influence the series has had in my life, and the special place it has and always will have in my heart. The thing that came mind was my favorite Harry Potter fanart I've ever drawn, made back in 2003, a cozy scene in the burrow, with the main trio and a few Weasley siblings. Here it is: That picture is really special to me. It embodies a time of my life that was full of magic and fandom, and also, a time on my artist's journey when art felt limitless... I wasn't bogged down with getting things "right", so I just drew whatever I wanted and I wasn't afraid to try. That picture up there is a lot more ambitious than anything I draw these days, and I wanted to try not being afraid or too intimidated to draw a scene like that again. That said, there was absolutely no way I would get it done in time for it to be relevant to the anniversary at all. XD; A multi-character picture with a full background is a huge undertaking for me, but I was still really inspired to do it, so now I'm just aiming to get it done by the end of the month in time for Harry's and J.K. Rowling's birthdays. XD So without further ado, here's what I have so far! It's still just the sketch, and it's missing some details, like the pictures on the walls and the chess pieces (which, fun fact, they are supposed to be playing chess in the original picture too, but looking at it now it just looks like they're sitting at a cool checkered table XD), but I wanted to show it off because it took me like 4 days to get to this point and I'm really happy with how it's coming along! XD;; Anyway, thank you for reading my rambles. Wish me luck getting it done, haha! |

Hey! Long time, no post, huh? ^^;; But in my defense, I've done a lot of art since I last updated this thread, I just didn't post it here. But anyway, today I come to you with a digital painting/still life/study of my headphones!  It's fairly rough as you can see, but I'm actually really proud of it! I chose to draw these headphones because I thought they'd be easy enough, but that was my first mistake! XD They were much harder than I thought! XD; But yeah, it's far from perfect, but I'm really pleased with the result! I don't do studies like these very often at all, so go me for challenging myself! I should do more of them! ^^ |
