(I wanted to have an alliterative thread title, okay? >_>) So! I used to have one of these art threads, but mine didn't go so well, and the last time I posted in it was February of 2012... so instead of reviving that one, I decided I would like a fresh start! I've been drawing a little more lately, mostly thanks to Dan's Color Clash game, and I'm hoping to keep it up, so I think this thread should be helpful and encouraging towards my goal! To start off, I want to show you a couple of doodles, because Nut and I decided to do some timed sketch challenges. These were both done really quickly, in about 30 minutes each, so they're very rough, but they were definitely good practice, and a lot of fun. =D Ritsu from Fruits BasketA Chespin from PokemonI also want to show you a picture I drew for the Art Gallery in Neopets, for Ixi Day. Unfortunately, it didn't get in, and I was kind of disappointed about it, because I worked hard on it and was pretty proud of it, but well, what can you do? At least I can show it off here. ^_^ Err... thanks, Tarla! And that's it for now. I'll post again later when I have more to share. ^^

These are very nice, Ginz. I especially like Ritsu; she's beautiful.

Wow, those were done in only thirty minutes? 0.0 Could've fooled me, especially with the Chespin picture!
Sorry about your entry not getting in - the green Ixi's expression is fantastic XD

Thanks, guys! ^_^
I drew Ritsu for the first challenge, and I lost sight of time. I was in the middle of lineart when I looked at the time and realized I only had a few minutes left, so I decided to add color really quick and just leave the sketch underneath instead. XD; But it bothered me a bit that the picture looked so unfinished because of that, so when I drew the Chespin, my main goal was to finish the lineart. You should have seen me rushing to do the monochromatic shading in the last 5 minutes, though! I knew I wouldn't have time to do color for that one, but I didn't want it to look so plain. It makes me happy to hear that you guys like them. =D

Nut and I did another 30 minute drawing challenge today, and we decided the theme should be the "Super Best Friends Forever" shorts, so here is Batgirl, who's my favorite. =D I didn't actually have time for color, I went and added that later. >_> But it was fun. =D

I haven't posted here in a while, but I have something new to share now! A while ago, Tiger recorded herself reading some Mafia posts, and then I semi-jokingly said that we should design a cover for a Mafia Audiobook read by her. Tiger said she would have no complaints if I made one, so nearly a month later, I finally did! I made two versions, they're both kind of similar but different. You'll see! XD I hope you like them, they were pretty fun to make. ^_^ Also, a shout-out to everyone who played mafia. <3 You're all super creative and wonderful roleplayers, thanks for all the fun! =D Tell me which you like better! ^_^

Ooh, those are fantastic! Thank you for giving us all nifty fedoras. :3 I do somehow prefer the first one, the red is more eye-catching but they are both really good.

These look very nice, Ginz. I'm with everyone else in that I like the first one better; it's got more visual punch to it.

These are awesome, Ginz! =D I love the dramatic arrangement of silhouettes! I have to agree with everyone on the first one; I think it has to do with the position of shapes balancing the composition and colors better--there's a more even distribution of red vs. gray and the larger amount of space above the figures' heads feels more comfortable.

Ginz, these are awesome!! So dramatic and intense and a fantastic use of colors!
I like the first one better as well (though I do love the intro post hanging out behind the mafiosos in the second one! ;D)
...And dangit, now you've got me wanting to read more mafia this weekend XD

Thanks, guys, I'm glad you like them! =D I guess we can call the first one the 'official' one since everyone likes it better. XD Thank you all for your feedback and comments. ^_^ Tiger - SUCCESS. It'd be great to hear you read more! XD
