Art Trades?

So, I’ve been on hiatus from both Neopets and creating in general (really sad) for a while, and I’ve really missed it. I’d like to do a few art trades to kind of get back into the flow. I have some examples of my work here, although a lot of it appears to need reuploading.

I would be interested in an art trade. However, I took on a temporary job in addition to my current job, and that will keep me busy for the next month or so. So I can't promise a good turnaround time. Like, maybe a month out on my end, though I'd try to get it done faster. It's up to you if you'd be willing to wait, I'm fine either way.

Hi! That's great news about the job. I completely understand your needing to prioritize work, so don't rush on my account - take as much time as you need. Which is to say yes, I would love it if we could do an art trade. Is there a specific character of yours you'd like me to draw? I know forgot to mention this in my original post, but I'm comfortable drawing either anthro or human characters.

I'll try to reupload some of my missing art and then hopefully I'll have more samples of my own characters, but you're welcome to pick whoever looks like they would be the most enjoyable to draw. Also, in terms of level of detail (color/background), I'm open to keeping it simple, unless you'd like to go for something more complex - just let me know!

Hello! I'd love to do an art trade with you! I'm up for drawing Neopets, humans, other anthros, etc. I don't have a lot of references for my non-Neopet characters, although I could upload some if you'd prefer to draw people, so just let me know! All the references I have right now are in my thread, although some probably need re-uploading. But you're welcome to draw whatever looks like it would be most enjoyable to you.

Also, what level of detail were you thinking for this trade in terms of color and background? Simple? Detailed?

Which character to draw? You know, I remember you had a cool plot bunny about Alien Aishas, maybe you'd be interested in drawing one of mine? I have Fizxy and Slienax, I think Slienax's petpage explains them best: www.neopets.com/~Slienax

Color reference version:

I'd prefer to keep things simple, yeah, that's my specialty, as you probably noticed. In general, I don't do shading, but I do use color (except when I'm working on Ink, I guess!). I've been favoring very simple backgrounds lately, like a solid color, or maybe a speckled background like the second image here: ntwriters.proboards.com/post/2727783/thread

As for what characters of yours to draw? Maybe one of your Alien Aishas? Or maybe even two, in a double portrait? They're all such cool designs, I want to draw them all, but I think I'd better limit to one or two, or else I'd never get the art trade done.

I would love to draw some Alien Aishas actually. And if you're up for drawing two of mine, I'd love to draw both Fizxy and Slienax! They seem like they'd be a lot of fun to draw interacting together, what with the juxtaposition between their interests and personalities - I can imagine a scene with Fizxy kind of doing her own thing, enjoying her life, and Slienax standing guard, begrudgingly, haha. Also, I love your comic about the Alien Aisha head markings - your explanation was very on-brand for them, I think. xD

I like the design you used for the background for your picture of Madge as a potion seller! Anything simple works for the background, so just do whatever you think would look best! I'm really looking forward to how you interpret my character/s in your more streamlined style!

Also, if you decide you'd like to draw some of my Aishas, I reuploaded some old references, and a couple new ones, here. I apologize for the sketchiness, but hopefully they give you an okay idea!

Ah, yes, moar Alien Aisha sketches, both old and new! Sketchy is okay, I mostly just have sketches of Fizxy myself. Though hopefully that changes soon. There's a NT collab beginning of October called "The Cosmic" and I want to use my Aliens Aishas for that. Hopefully I can get something together by then.

I read about that collab, it sounds like the perfect theme for Alien Aishas. I'll certainly be looking for your comic if you submit something! I'd love to see more of your Alien Aishas!

And I'll try to post more about my Aishas, too. I've actually got a lot typed up that I just need to condense and edit into something coherent. But definitely I'm working on them, and I really want to share more!

Did you have a character in particular you'd like me to draw? I don't have a whole lot of character references right now that aren't Alien Aishas, but I do have other characters, just in Neopets-customization form. You're welcome to draw whoever looks like they'd be the most fun for you!

Honestly, I would say that you could draw literally any character of mine you would like to draw! My two favorites of mine are Lissandre (I'm so basic gosh) or my stupid DnD paladin, Khamet. Honestly, when I say "you can draw anything you like," I mean it, if you want to draw a trash can, I'll be happy with it, so feel free to do whatever!

I would be happy to try my hand at the alien aishas! Their designs are pretty sweet, but of course if you would like to show me a few cool customs I can try to draw as well (as I need the practice anyways! >>') I'd love to see them!

If you want, go for it! I do not mind drawing more than one character at all. In fact, it seems kind of natural--even though the character is just "ipsum lorem" texts now, you do have your characters set up in these nice aesthetic (and thematic) groups that would make drawing them together make sense... which... you know... now that I type it... is kind of "duh," seeing as you draw comics and such, but it sounded like a much more intelligent sentence in my head!

The challenge is like... summarizing everything about the character you can happen to glean from backstory, at least for me. x)

Hey, sorry, it took me so long to get back to you. I'm glad you've been doing a couple other art trades in the meantime! ^^

Anyway, I don't mind drawing Neopets, I do find that fun! I asked because I personally don't really have any Neo characters that I'm very attached to -- I mean, of course my pets will always have a special place in my heart, but I never really developed them much, nor gave them unique character designs, so I wouldn't be able to give you much in the form of references for them. ^^; If you'd still find it fun to draw them, I have a royalgirl Uni, a plushie Kacheek, or an origami Shoyru. I'd be happy to get art of any of them!

Other than that, I have a couple D&D characters I love. There's Dahlia, who is my halfling cleric. She's very friendly and bubbly and sweet, and also a nerdy bookworm. And then there's Alyx, who is my human rogue (but more specifically Arcane trickster, which is a subclass that lets her use wizard spells). She is tough and a little reckless. She doesn't have much respect for the rules and follows her own, but she's very loyal and protective of her friends.

As for the level of detail, to be honest, backgrounds are definitely one of biggest art weaknesses, so I'd rather keep the background simple, but I do enjoy coloring and shading, if that's okay with you!
