Inktober Day 1 - Tree It's a winter tree, based loosely on a picture I took January 2008.

Inktober Day 2: Mindless My mind went to daydreaming, since it's just sort of mindless thoughts to me. I thought it'd be fun to play with patterns, too.

Inktober Day 2 - Small Tree A tree growing in my mom's yard. I had planned to plant a tree in that spot, but it turns out a volunteer grew there instead. I'm rather found of this tree, it's only a few years old. Taken with my camera phone this time, instead of scanning.

Also, it turns out Neopets has an (Un)Official Prompt list for Inktober as well? Nice of them to get into the theme of things. You can find it on all their social media, it looks like, but here it is as well:

I'm following Senshistock's prompts, but they're being done digitally. Focusing mainly on the figure study, so I didn't turn the pose into a particular character. Mindless

You guys are doing so much cool stuff!! It's so exciting, I love it. =DD Day 1 - Ring I began Inktober on the right foot by only starting after midnight last night. xD Originally I thought of having the planet leaving a ring in the bathtub. And then I thought I should start the month on a simpler note by just drawing a pretty planet in space instead. And then my muse punched aside that train of thought and demanded to bring back the idea of the sentient planet doing ring-related things. XD (He has a wedding band, too, but it's pretty hard to see. xD) Day 2 - Mindless Probably an expression better suited to later in the month when I'm more likely to be feeling burnt out, but whatareyougonnado, prompt.

Inktober Day 3: Bait I did have to go in and make some bits clearer, since my pictures were blurry. Still, you get the idea. Mouse and cheese.

Inktober Day 3 - Autumn Tree This was done en plein air on campus. A tree that's already halfway through shedding its leaves.

I've already fallen behind on Inktober, but in my defense, I've been planning my birthday party and have had little time for anything else! ^^;; Anyway, here's the art I managed to make for Day 1 - Ring (Reference from SenshiStock): ♫ Here we are in the future and it's bright! ♫

I've been cracking on! Like I mentioned, I'm not doing the official prompted, just portraits for character practice. Day 1 - PrometheusI did the first couple ones in grayscale inks using Faber Castell inks that I had lying around in my art box. Day 2 - MorganBirb Day 2 - Beware, We StingThis one was actually something I had to do for a fanart exchange, so I got 2 birds with 1 stone with this one. Day 4 - MacbethI bought some nice new Windsor & Newton ink pens, and used them for the last 2 pictures, they are really nice and I love using them.

*slinks in*
I did not in fact forget about Inktober =D
However, what I decided to do this year is not to follow any promptlists, but rather springboard it into an opportunity to finally draw a lengthy comic I've had knocking about in my head since the Town roleplay finished. Both so that I have a reasonable deadline and a way to piggyback off of other people's art motivation (and to finally get it off my to-do list).
Only while I'd originally planned to turn it into something mixed-media with pencils and ink, manga-style, now that I'm actually drawing it it's turning out to be so insanely detail-heavy (just put "died of backgrounds" on my tombstone) that using ink on top of pencil would double my drawing time. So I don't know if it'd be justified to even link them here - odds are good they'll end up on my art thread anyway - or if I should just float along on this thread, basking in the collective creative juices, and keep the art itself elsewhere.

Inktober Day 4 - Branch A close up of a very large and very old linden tree that stands in my front yard. I need to figure out how to draw clumps of leaves, still. Huntress I would lean towards being able to post in this thread, personally. I mean, the goal is really to create art. We have people not following the prompts, we have people not doing ink, might as well have people not doing either as well.

Inktober Day 4: Freeze Interesting fact about me, when I panic or freak out about something, I freeze up. So I kind of went with that for today. Not the best way to deal with stress, but at least it gave me an idea for the prompt.

We have people not following the prompts, we have people not doing ink, might as well have people not doing either as well. Yeah, on one hand that's what I thought, on the other hand it felt a bit... well, silly, but on the third-same-as-the-first-hand I'm a vocal proponent of getting more art and posts in general into this fine forum. I'll see how things play out once I finish something to post ^^ (the first comic, being an intro, is the most complex.) Meanwhile, though, I wasn't planning on doing much with the official Inktober prompts themselves, but then I woke up this morning to the facebooks reminding me who has a birthday today and spent the entire last year drawing birthday art for others, SO: Day 5 - Swim (based on the Neopets prompt list, because the official one wasn't sparking anything in my brain) Happy birthday, Ginz ❤ =D Brought to you by my inability to keep a drawing about literal hearts-with-eyes simple, a lot of Google references, and Fraze's Pokemon Go because I haven't caught a Luvdisc yet.

Inktober Day 5: Build First thought: Building blocks Second thought: Do a perspective exercise I've gotten a lot better at perspective over the last couple years, but it's still good to go back and practice. And it was fun to do something a little different than what I've been doing for Inktober.
