Jae I honestly figure the last round of layoffs was addressed because it was more or less the entire site team- not just three people. That, and people were legitimately panicking about the site being closed down. This time no one is really panicking, there's just a lot of anger, so the Jumpstaff is less inclined to feel obligated to acknowledge it. And same point applies to your comment about site functionality- all these problems came about because of the original, acknowledged round of layoffs. Droplet doesn't code shops or create content, at least not insofar as I'm aware, so her layoff has nothing to do with these problems. She was the editor of the Neopian Times. I'm not saying I agree with the way they're handling it, just... it is what it is.

I think you guys are misunderstanding the situation. Droplet may have only been laid off on that weekend but Breik had been gone a /month/ previously. The issue isn't so much that they put the staff tournament up and then some staff were suddenly let go. They put up the staff tournament with staff that were already gone at that point. There's no way out of that situation that is good enough because that situation should not have happened in the first place.

For the lying about Breik being there, I think we're owed some clarification.

I wasn't referring to Droplet specifically (although she's been reading user content for years so she probably has a solid understanding of what we expect out of Neopets, at least). My point is moreso that the problems before certainly aren't going to get any better now that there are even less veteran staff members around to point out or even fix inconsistencies. There are going to be changes to the gameplay of the site and we sort of do deserve to know what kind of game we'll be playing in a few months' time. I didn't know Breik was let go a month prior. And I didn't see any boards about it at the time, either. (edit: 'at the time' referring to when the Staff Tournament selection page went live) I agree that there's no excuse for him getting added to the Staff Tournament. It's actually pretty sickening that they did that - not only did they not tell us they laid him off, they actively lied to us and led us to believe he was still around.

My point about JSN sending the wrong message to us still stands. Putting together a staff tournament tells us that everything is all right/running smoothly. This is not the case, based on what we know.

So the results are in. JN is collecting the data as we speak but for my picks I got:
Senormalo: 1220 DJ Skellington: 1305 Bancha Ninja: 1450 Droplet: 1171 Breik: 296
While I have no regrets, the low score for Breik both makes me sad and frustrated. Hearing how he was possibly laid off before the AC began, where did this score come from? Was he still sorta of working for Neopets until finally being told to leave (along with Droplet and DJ Skellington)? I so are their scores a reflection of their sudden departure or did they submit the scores before leaving?
As I said I have no regrets, I was proud I was able to have Breik on my team one more time (MERIDELL FTW!). Though now I'll need to look for a new Forward, Defender, and Goalie. Ignoring the new staff they'll be adding (unless its former staff) I guess I'll go for the ones with the highest scores? Hopefully Drama Queen and Rookie are grunt workers and not anyone from top management, though luckily Binary Supagoo got a good score as Gaolie (infact he's the highest score).
Anyway, ignoring the possibility that the scores could have been faked, I'm somewhat surprised of the results. Many of the new JS Staff did pretty good, some even better than the returning TNT (say, did Ninjakins get the boot too? Her score is the lowest).
Though I would have thought with the update they would also bring in the new players. Guess they'll do it with the New's update? That or they were suppose to and messed up.

Either way, Dark Lord does not have my vote of confidence.

Nah, they're probably just injecting fake scores and not actually playing; all of them, not just the potentially fake TNT scores. That's how much trust I have right now.
If the NT didn't run today, I would have thought all of the AC scores were fake.

I'm keeping my TNT team unless they tell me otherwise. I'd rather lose with them on board than win with someone else.

So its Monday and they have yet to introduce the replacement staff members. I decided to keep my team as is, both because I just can't bring myself to drop Droplet, Breik, & DJ Skellington and I'm curious what would happen come next results if they don't replace them.

I'm starting to think that what they mean by substitute players was just that other people will be entering scores for the players that aren't there. Which is a cop out.
