Well, the big question on whether or not the Cup will return this year was finally answered in today's news. I don't know if the return is a good thing, considering that the past few cups have been 'rigged' by cheaters plaguing the cup. It remains to be seen if this holds true again. One thing that obviously will not return is the Staff Tournament. I cannot imagine JSN cobbling up a team when there's barely anyone to begin with. EDIT: If you haven't already, go spend your points at the prize shop as the shop will close once the cup begins. I've posted the link below, seeing as JSN did not include the link in their news post. ... Even if the staff tourney did come back, it would succeed in making me really upset. :/ Hm. What to buy? I have 30,600 points left. Something tells me Jumpstaff is not going to tell us if/when the prize shop is open, so good call, Ian Wolf-Park. I might even make a board on charter telling everyone to spend their points if they have not yet. :s Thanks for the reminder.

Is there a link to singups yet or... =\

^ No, it's just been announced.
Ick. I normally try to stay optimistic but I feel really apprehensive about this. The past few cups have just been a farce, and to have one with the site in such a fragile state... =/ I don't know.

Yeah, at this whole thing, I'm kind of just... wut? why?
As has been said the Cup has already been fairly horrible but with so many sections of the site already in shambles it doesn't make much sense that they'd bring it up again, especially given the former pessimism as to whether this would even happen. (Other than to boost site traffic, which, well, we'll see how much worse the lag gets as a result.)
I guess it does show how little work it takes to get the Cup running, though. <_<

I only had 800 points. I imagine this cup, I'll have even less.

In past years we did a kind of NTWF AC tournament- maybe it would help curb some of the pessimism about this one if we did something similar? So even if the onsite competition is a rigged farce, we can still have some competitiveness here that's more fair and fun for everybody.

Yeesh... I mean, if they can't get the simpler contests like Storytelling or the NT taken care of, how are they supposed to operate a game-filled event already riddled with holes?
Who knows, maybe the cheaters won't be able to profit if the Cup is bugged enough that no one can even play it due to insufferable lag or improper coding XP

I have to say I am not looking forward to this. Not at all. :/ There are so many better things they could be doing to appease the people who are left.

Something tells me they're doing this because it is ACX. After this, as much as I hate to say this, I kind of hope it retires so that something else can take this time slot.
.... Is anyone else considering 1-goal shootout showdown? I feel bad, but...

Oh my... I'm really afraid to see how this turns out. Lag and glitches are already a problem, and a big site event will only bring more.
At the very least I hope /they/ don't join my team, since they'll inevitably be back. BoB has always had such a nice environment and I'd hate to see it ruined by that. ;;

Ugh. I just hope they can be policed by Jumpstaff. There may be some serious cheating problems this year, unfortunately, especially if JS has a skeleton crew. And knowing how some people are, there will be people who see just how far they can exploit the system before JS catches on. Just hoping DC is safe. As is, our poor team has suffered from a lot of stereotyping and the like. ^^;

(I do still think if the games are playable it might be worthwhile to at least have some personal competitions going for fun, if only to dispel some of the doom and gloom. I personally kinda like the Altador Cup, for all it's flaws. )

Who knows, maybe if DC got a bad enough rap, we could get another war plot kick started ;3
