If that's the case than how lazy is the JS artist(s?) that they can't draw 3 more faces, photoshop them onto one of the existing bodies, and have the a programmer replace the image, name, and description?

I'm starting to think that what they mean by substitute players was just that other people will be entering scores for the players that aren't there. Which is a cop out. In other words, another lie by JSN. |

Well the way they sounded when they described the staff tournament when it was first announced made it seem as if they were struggling to get the art done for those that we got. Resources are clearly stretched since we're not even getting consistent updates in the news let alone anywhere else - I imagine Neopets no longer has a dedicated art team either, so they will be having to draw for JS's other properties as well. The central problem is what it has been from the start though. JS don't understand Neopets - since anyone who /did/ understand Neopets would have either removed the departed staff and had a smaller tournament with missing teams (as they have done in the past) or not done a staff tournament at all. |

Entering as in just injecting a number into some database? I presume they aren't hardcoding points yet. Or do you think people are actually playing? GLITCH WARNING!
So apparently an early mock-up of this year's prize shop is up including names of new prizes. However there's a glitch connected to it, apparently going to the prize shop awards a trophy and it messes up something with your trophies. For this reason I don't suggest checking it out. At the moment I'm trying to see if I could get someone who already got affected by the glitch list the new prizes.

Prize Shop Update:If you read JN you probably already know this, but here are some of the "new" prizes this year (with my thoughts on them):
2015 Jersey (Since we technically already had a HW jersey (now retired) I'm wondering what this one is going to be. Of course that's assuming JS knows there was a HW Jersey already and they don't put up a different item with the same name)
Altador Cup X Stamp (Obviously)
2015 Sweatband (Okay, guessing its going to be wearable)
2015 Scarf (Okay, guessing its going to be wearable... did anyone just get a sense of deja vu?)
Altador Cup X Coin (A second collectable item? But the Coin album is already filled unless they're just going to put it into other or start a Coin II album)
2015 Gold Whistle (Toy?)
2015 Podium Background (Could have sworn TNT did something like this before, but apparently not)
Team Specific Yooyuballs (This is a bit interesting. Do they mean Yooyu instead of Yooyuball? If so, so this year they're combining the Yooyu prize and the "Team" prizes. Interesting idea, of course that just means we're just going to get a 18 recolors of Yooyu in their team colors instead of one unique Yooyu. Also I wonder what the cost would be. The team prizes are very cheap while the Yooyu prize is one of the top prizes, so these can possibly fall anywhere on the cost chart)
None of these new items had their images uploaded and point cost is all over the place so obviously those will change (also these are placeholder names, hopefully). Also there was a bunch of different prizes which were already existing items though apparently they're odd selection of items so those could also be placeholders and we could have more new items on their way. And finally the PB they had up was a
Plushie Paint Brush. Being this doesn't really match last year's winners, Haunted Woods, at all (not even in a killer doll sense since its not MSPP) I felt like making a short list of possible PBs they could choose:
Halloween PB (but that was used the first time they won)
Ghost PB (but that's too cheap so wouldn't make for a good prize unless given a very low cost)
Zombie PB (This is my go-to choice, especially with them having a Zombie player)
Wraith PB (Or they could also go for this one as their newest player is Wraith)
Transparent PB (A reasonable choice since it pretty much makes you a walking skeleton)
Staff Tournament:As you all know I stuck to my original TNT team and they pretty much came out with the same scores as they did last round. Senor Malo and Bancha Ninja approved, though that's probably because that's still them playing. DJ Skellington's score didn't change which makes me wonder if they just didn't use his last round score instead of having someone play for him. Finally "Droplet" fell a bit and "Breik" rose a tiny bit... but still I wonder who's REALLY playing them (and DJ Skellington if they did get someone to play for him and they just so happen to get the exact same score he did). Looking through everyone else I see mainly improvements though some have gone down. So now the questions is if I switch. I'm thinking of dropping "Breik" for Binary Supagoo. I want to support Breik... but its not Breik playing... *sigh* I guess I have a weak to make my decision. Still I'm not doing too bad, not like I couldn't afford to buy all the Staff Tourney prizes with NP if I wanted too.

Dyeworks Hue Brew Potion (The Free NC price, and just in time for a whole batch of new clothes giving the dyework treatment. What are the chances...)
Traditional Altadorian Gyro (Already existing item, though being its the cheap food prize I guess this is okay. If their limited on resources I rather they put them into something special than a food prize many would only get to spend their points. But still it would be a reminder how TNT was always able to give us a prize shop almost full of new items)
Yooyuball Gummies (This looks to be a new item. So they are making some new fodder items (assuming this is how the final prize shop would look like and they don't put in any more new items). And I'm not too sure JS understands that a Yooyu and Yooyuball aren't technically the same thing)
Altador Slushie Globe (neat idea for a globe)
Yooyuball Pizza (Sort of a copy of an old prize, but I suppose JS had another idea for it)
Yooyuball Cookies (Sort of a copy of an old prize, but I suppose JS had another idea for it... how many of my comments will I be able to copy and paste and it'll still make sense?)
(Team) Yooyuball (Already commented on this, though I want to point out there is no "Yooyu" prize mentioned anywhere. Combined with them seemingly not knowing there's a difference between a Yooyu and Yooyuball and it does look like this year's Team Prize is also the Yooyu prize. As I said it's an interesting idea, though sadly they'll probably just be simple recolors of Yooyu in their team colors. Too bad too, would have been interested to see maybe a Halloween/Zombie/Ghost Yooyu. Though it does look like they intend to keep them cheap costing as Yooyu collectors breath a sigh of relief... Wait a second, I only count 15 teams. They're missing a Yooyu(ball) for Faerieland, Meridell, & Mystery Island (though I suppose they're one on the blank spaces). Also shouldn't "Darigan Yooyuball" be "Darigan Citadel Yooyuball" so not to confuse it with the actual Darigan Yooyu?)
Commenter Microphone (Guessing another toy or maybe wearable?)

I find the stamp being so cheap - as well as the random r99 morphing potion in the same price range - off-putting. Hopefully the 4000 point coin is an album item as well. It doesn't seem like there is much there to invest in and hope to sell for a good price later.
I made the mistake of clicking on the prize shop already so hopefully I'm not glitched out of my real trophy. D:

Being all AC prize shops are pretty much set-up the same way if they stick to that I don't think there's anything to worry about. I'm pretty sure this is just a mock-up so they have an idea what they need to do and put it altogether when it comes time to finalize it.
Hopefully with it being a well known glitch when the prize shop is actually released they'll have it get fixed when you get your actual trophy. |
