So, I made yet ANOTHER Animal Crossing-themed drawing! XD (I promise I'll start drawing other things soon! It's just what I'm currently obsessed with, I guess. But I have non-AC ideas in my to-draw list too!)

But anyway, since I made up a villager persona for me, I decided to draw my friends as villagers as well! =D So here we are, from left to right: Alyssa the owl, Nova the wolf, Ginz ❤ the bunny, Nut the frog and Jayeee the dog. 8DD (I hope you all like it guys! ^^; )

I drew some Tangled fanart because Tangled is one of my favorite Disney movies! =D This took me forever to finish, I've been procrastinating on it  putting off finishing it  working on it for over two weeks I think. >>;; So I'm just glad it's finally finished! 8DD



So the idea here is that Rapunzel and Flynn drew portraits of each other, and Flynn is amazed that Rapunzel got his nose right!! =OO  I thought it'd be fun! =D (I don't know if I got Flynn's nose right, but please be a bit lenient to me XD; )

Ahhh, it's been a month since I posted here! As you may know if you've read my diary thread lately, the past couple of weeks I've been having eye issues and I'd been really struggling. But I'm feeling much better now, and it feels amazing to finally be able to make art again!

Anyway, the new Pokemon starters were announced recently, and I've seen A LOT of beautiful fanart for them, so I thought I'd join in and draw them too! =D



I think they're all really cool, and I'm actually planning on getting Pokemon and playing for the very first when Sun/Moon comes out! (Although some of my friends ((you know who you are!)) have been trying to convince me to get X/Y before then, so we'll see about that! XD) I'm most likely choosing Rowlet as my starter because its cuteness has won me over, but I wonder what the evolutions will look like! =O
 
I've always felt like a bit of an outsider when it comes to the Pokemon fandom... I mean, it's not like I'm clueless about it. I watched some of the anime when I was younger, I can name a fair number of Pokemon, and I know the general gist of what it's about and how everything works, but it wasn't a big part of my childhood or anything, like it was for so many other people. I've never played any of the games, and I've never considered it one of my fandoms... but I like it, and I guess (and I hope) it's never too late to get into it! XD

Sakura and Nozaki from Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun! =D I love that anime, and it was about time I drew some fanart for it! I originally wanted to fit Mikorin in there too, because he's my favorite, but in the end I thought it'd be sweeter with just these two, so I'll have to draw him some other time! ^^

Anyway, this is totally not a present for Jayeee , the fact that it's his birthday today is completely irrelevant. >_>  <_<

((Is the background super weird? I can't decide if it is >>; I had originally made the WHOLE thing sparkly and pink, but it was too overpowering! XD; So here I sort of played with the idea of confining it to a rectangle like a panel in a manga, but I don't know... it's kinda hard to frame two characters with such a dramatic height difference nicely! XD))

Hey, so, I've been drawing a bit, but I just haven't been posting here. XD; (And wow, the art boards are so active these days, my thread had already fallen to the second page! That's awesome, I love seeing so much art in the forum!)

But anyway, here's what you missed (unless you follow me on tumblr, then here it is AGAIN! 8D)

I drew Derpy as a belated birthday present for Draco:

Here she is casting the Bat-Bogey Hex (which probably looks nothing like that, but hey! XD) I had originally sketched her playing Quidditch, actually, but I soon realized I didn't know how I'd make that work with such a limited palette, so I drew this instead.

I did sort of 'add' two extra colors, because I have the black lineart and white areas+highlights, so I hope that doesn't count as cheating >>;; but to make up for that, I decided not to do any blending so I didn't create any more tones, and although that made the shadows very harsh, I think it came out looking cool that way!

This was an even bigger challenge, because for Ginny I was working with colors that sort of matched her character, but with Kiki I had to improvise and just go with what I had. It was fun, though! I'm just not sure she's still recognizable? XD

Anyway, I also decided to try a lineless style for her, since her character is made out of really simple shapes, and I figured it wouldn't be too hard! I actually REALLY like lineless art, but I never do it myself. I should try more of it!

That's all for now! I don't really know what to draw next. I'm not working on anything right now, but I'm sure I'll come up with something!

It is... WIP time! =D  (I hope you like WIPs... sometimes I feel like I should only share finished pictures, but they usually take me so long, I get antsy to share my progress! XD; )

But anyway, I can also take this moment to share the story behind this drawing I'm about to show you. So, a few days ago, I came across a beautiful owl on my tumblr dash, whose feather pattern looked like hearts. (Here's a picture if you're curious. Photo credit: meagletrainer) So, of course, I reblogged it and jokingly said that I finally found the owl I want as a pet when I go to Hogwarts. XD And then, Nut saw my post and this conversation happened: 

[02/06/16 2:42:28 p.m.] Nut: ALSO THE HEART OWL IS AMAZING it just needs to be pink and then it'll be perfect for you!! XD
[02/06/16 2:53:24 p.m.] Maye Ginz: AHH YES, I WANT A PINK HEART OWL! Maybe I should draw myself as a Hogwarts student with my pink heart owl XD (because, there's gotta be a spell to make it pink, right?)
[02/06/16 2:56:45 p.m.] Nut: OMG YES THAT WOULD BE PERFECT FOR YOU!! =DD That would be the best Hogwarts animal for you to have, of course there must be a spell like that!! XD (fueled by THE POWER OF LOVE??? 8D)

I sketched this last night and colored it today. It's May from FMA: Brotherhood. I had wanted to draw her for a while because she's my favorite character! (She's so cute! XD)

Anyway, this probably looks like it took me about 10 minutes, because it's so simple, but it actually took me way longer than that. >>;; I had originally planned to paint this using the lineless painterly style I've been wanting to try, but I wasn't sure how to go about it, so I decided to start by color blocking some areas, and I really liked how it looked that way, so I just kept it like that instead. XD;




I don't know. It was a fun experiment! It's not the most impressive thing I've ever drawn, but I think it's cute!

Aw, she's adorable! I'm not familiar with the character or the game, but I can still say that I like the way it turned out! It's very clean looking, and each shape has nice, smooth edges despite the lack of black lines.

Haha, I think ever since that lineless discussion in the art chat, a number of people have decided to try it. I also have a little experiment that I (mostly) finished up recently XD

Hey! I decided to do a Draw Something Every Day challenge this month! =D (Wish me luck, haha! XD) I don't want to be overwhelmed by it, so I'm just aiming for a sketch each day. I might get carried away some days and do lineart and color and all that, but if I don't, it's okay, because that's not the goal I'm setting for myself.

Anyway, it took me a while to decide what to draw today, but it's been a pretty rainy day, so I was inspired by that! Here's what I came up with:

July 1st: Rain

It's just me in the rain. It's a pretty simple picture, but I had fun drawing it. I ended up really liking the colors I used, even though I just picked them randomly. That's just the way I like to sketch, using different colors so that I don't get confused when I do lineart. But it came out sort of pretty this time! XD I don't know if I'll turn this into a finished picture eventually, I guess we'll see!


By the way, if you have any art requests or suggestions for things you'd like to see me draw this month, please let me know! I'm sure there'll be days when I struggle to think of ideas, so that'd really help me out. XD

I love Ribbot, but I worry about him when it rains. XD;; I know you're a frog, Ribbot, but you're also a robot! Please stay safe!! ... although, I don't know how much borrowing my umbrella would help, because it's actually Peach's parasol, and it's TINY! XD (Also, Ribbot doesn't actually talk like a robot in the game, but I wish he did, so it's my headcanon! XD)


BONUS: I decided to do clean lineart for this! It took me way longer than it should have, so I didn't have time to color it today, but I'm really happy with how it's coming along!
