Nope, completely different entries. Even tried with a comic series for the Spanish 50th a while back, after someone advised me I had a better chance that way. They ended up holding it over for 8 weeks and the first one was published in Issue 51.
I just have horrible luck it would seem.

Congrats guys who are in! I'm still waiting for a reply. I sent mine twice within 10 minutes two weeks ago because I was told - after I sent the first time - to add to the comment that my article was for #550 issue. I got a rejecting email last week for the second one (saying there were too many good entries for that week.  ) but I'm still waiting for the first article. I just hope to hear something back. It annoys me a bit when I don't get any email.  |

Are you saying you got rejected for the second version of the same article, the one that just had the "Issue 550" tagged into the title line or something? Because if so you'll probably find that it was a rejection for both versions of the same thing. If you submit an amended version before you hear back I find it overwrites the original version when it gets looked at. At least this was the case a couple of years back, where a few days after submitting something I amended it slightly, resubmitted with the same title just putting "amended version" in brackets afterwards, and the only response I got was for "Obsession (amended version)". The first version was overwritten by the amended one when the response came. If it was a completely different article, that's a whole other story. |

First article submitted: Title: abcdef Comment: about the article Article: at the beginning I put a note for the editor saying I wrote this article for #550 issue. Ten minutes later... Second article submitted: Title: ghijklmn Comment: article written for #550 issue! Article: the same article of the first submission, without the note. So: different titles, different comments, same article.  |

Yeah, I would probably assume the both of them were rejected. The content of the article's the same, so the idea is, if one's rejected then they would both be.
I mean, I haven't ever submitted two of the same thing and had one rejected before. On the other hand, I've submitted a correction and had only the corrected one accepted. It's not like the other got rejected, either. It just didn't get a response at all.

A month after submitting this 3rd article, I get this (pardon that it's in French)... There is one small blurb about the 550th I wrote at the very end and I think I specified it for the 550th, but who knows if they will put it in. If they do, I will be eternally grateful though... But I don't want to get my hopes up. :/

I still don't have any word on my comic. Then again, I kinda pushed the limits by submitting it on Monday. XD; Just hope she sees our entries tomorrow. owo

I was disappointed that I didn't get into the French #300th CC today because I entered 30 captions, but this made up for it. And I was still able to enter my captions into the English one, since the French ones went up early! And I'll be at work until very late too, so I won't be able to see the issue until then. And I have work early the next morning too. |
