Way back in 2008, we had the Great Collab, where a bunch of NTWFers submitted entries to the Times that were themed around gypsies. And, every year, on the April Fools thread, somebody has mentioned doing something like it again. So far, to my knowledge, that hasn't happened. This year, however, I'd like to see us do it again. Now, just be clear, unlike the April Fools collab, this is not a prank. Instead, it's just a group of entries that are linked to each other through some sort of theme. So! Who'd be interested? What sort of theme could we use? Should we do it over a month again, or in a single issue? Should we involve people from the NTWF neoboard and NT guilds? When should we do it? Have I asked enough questions yet? In other words, discuss. ^^

I'm interested. A whole month would be cool, although the effect might be more prominent if everything were in one issue. I think October was suggested as a month, which would be good because it's halfway around the year from April, although it would interfere with Halloween, so maybe September? As for a topic, I have some suggestions.
Mr. Coconut. Themed around Neopia's musical community, which I think would work quite nicely. Superheroes and/or detectives/spies, which would also work quite nicely.

I TOTALLY vote for super heroes! ^-^ Wouldn't it be amazing?!

September may or may not have a chocolate issue. November doesn't have an specials, though. Bearing in mind though, figuring out when it should be and how long are both things that would be easier to figure out when we have an idea and a list of participants. =3
As for themes, I quite like the suggestions so far. ^^

Doesn't November have Neopet's birthday? And that will attract more people than the chocolate ball. And August is kind of close for this. December has Christmas, and by January, we'll likely be planning April Fools.

Hmm...so I think it'd be better only one issue, every month has exciting things! :3

I'd love to participate! As for ideas...why not either a specific location or take a random character on the site and have him or her cameo/take part in in every story/comic/series/article/whatever?
November is also a time where many people on the forum do National Novel Writing Month which might exclude some people who want to participate because they cannot manage two major writing projects.

So... How's October 7 sound? It's as close as halfway around the clock we'll get from April Fools.

Yoyti, as far as I'm concerned, there has been no NT issue themed around Neo's birthday. Yes, there have been articles, short stories, series and comics that are centered around Neo's birthday, but those are far and few (much like the pet days)
Here's the list of months that we cannot do and the reasons:
October: Halloween issue November: NaNoWriMo (for the forum) December: Christmas issue February: Valentine Day issue April: April Fools Edition
That leaves us with August (which, imho, is a bad idea, seeing as we have less than a month to work with) September, January and March. Personally, I wouldn't mind having the Great Collab in September or January (and yes, I am interested in doing this again)

November may be NaNo, but you'd probably write/draw something before the month actually started, so you wouldn't have a clash. =3 It's also possible to do, say, late September and early October. But as I said, we should probably wait until we have an idea before we sort out the date. xD And we should see what participation we get before we decide how many issues. 2011 Birthday issue: www.neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?week=469

I think March is too close to April Fools. XD September's good, but if we don't have enough time, January's good.
Anywho, I'd love to participate. :3

I'd be thrilled to participate! I'm alright with January I guess- With Christmas break and all to do it. But September's also swell.

There's no reason we can't do months with a special issue, and only use three weeks in the month, so we shouldn't limit ourselves to anything just yet. x3
