Well even if we did September, if we can finish the poll by about the 15th it'd give two or three weeks for even the earliest entries in the month. I think I'll make the poll on the 10th, or thereabouts, since then we'll have been collecting ideas for around a week. so far the thread's only been up for a couple days. Sounds good. Just wanted to make sure me and my muse have enough time to come up with a halfway decent idea.

(*really shouldn't be online right now* >.>)This sounds great so far! I'd love to participate, but I don't know if I'll have time. I don't know which idea is my favorite so far; multiple ones make me squee like a little fangirl as I imagine all the fun that could ensue. (Time travel? Detectives? Spies? Random cameos? EEEEEE~) ...But for additional lols, this is a comic script I wrote back when people first suggested doing a Mr. Coconut theme. I don't plan to use it because it would get Neo sued, but maybe you'll get a kick out of it. Pet 1: Look! It’s Mr. Coconut! Pet 2: What’s he doing all the way up here in Terror Mountain? I thought he would prefer tropical zones. Pet 1: Maybe a Beekadoodle carried him here. Pet 2: Are you kidding? A Beekadoodle carry Mr. Coconut? Pet 1: It could grip him by the husk. Pet 2: It’s not a question of where it grips him! It’s a simple question of weight ratios. A miniscule Petpet could NOT carry Mr. Coconut! Pet 1: [pause] ...He could have been carried by a Naleap. Pet 2: Oh yeah, a Naleap, maybe, but not a Beekadoodle. That’s my point. Pet 1: Or maybe two Beekadoodles carried him together... [Mr. Coconut shuffles off in exasperation.]

*skims the first couple of pages* I'll participate if we go with the Mr. Coconut theme, because I've had a comic idea about him laying around since Christmas, and I've been waiting for an excuse to use it. XD

But who knows. >.> You might even make it in, since it's been changed around so much. ...Not that I necessarily recommend trying, but. Heh. That was awesome. xD;

More importantly, what is the air speed velocity of an unladen Beekadoodle?

I'm now veering to Mr. Coconut, because I thought of something I really wish I'd had for issue 500, but will work fine since it revolves around Mr. Coconut.

Best not to get content with what's been suggested so far, keep thinking of themes. Chet Flash, Jelly World, the stock market, Sloth in his leisure time?

No Chet Flash. >.> It really shouldn't be an option for a themed issue. The point of Chet Flash is to be an injoke that lurks in the shadows, requiring readers to keep their eyes open from issue to issue — a swarm of Chet Flash-influenced pieces would ruin the meme.
So please no to that one. D:
[/taking Chet Flash way too seriously again]

Isn't that sort of the point of Mr. Coconut as well though? XD I'm not really keen on either though - I can see how they would work for comics and perhaps articles but ideas for short stories and series might be thin on the ground. Not that it matters much, as the majority of participants will likely be doing comics or articles.

I'm sort of quietly lurking because I don't know much of what to suggest, but I vote against the superheroes theme, because I've already dressed up my Joey as a superhero for issue 500...
Um, maybe I could suggest we all include The Pound? One particular Yooyuuball player on his/her off-season? The gelert doctor guy? The Pant Devil?
...I like the Pant Devil because everyone knows who he is, but on the site he's a very undeveloped character. He just steals stuff. He's already pretty good for slapstick humour, but I think if someone wanted to examine why he's such a compulsive kleptomaniac maybe this Pant Devil could make for a nice story character too.

I think going for a character that is on the site but hasn't been developed much is probably a good thing to do, that's basically what the gypsies were, and it gives you plenty of things to work with. =3

I would rather a group of characters, rather than a specific one. For Gypsy Month, you didn't have to use ANY of the specific gypsies that'd been included on Neo; you could make up all new gypsies, or have one of your already-created characters into a gypsy for a time.
I do support spies/detectives being a separate group than superheroes, as they're quite distinct. (After all, who really thinks of Batman as a detective moreso than a superhero?)
How about the Thieves Guild? That's got a nice set of already-established characters (Kanrik, Hanso), while still allowing for the creation of new thieves.

I don't know if I'll be able to participate, but if I do, having the Thieves Guild as the theme would be awesome. ^_^' It is rather similar to Gypsy Month, which may be a good or a bad thing. But as a stand alone idea, I think it has a lot of potential: should be adaptable to most articles/stories/comics, has an interesting cast of characters that's neither too big nor too small, lots of room for development and originality.
