I'd love to participate, but I definitely couldn't do it in November. ^^; For NaNo reasons. It would be hard to put something together before the month hit, too, because I need that time to plan my NaNo (and build up a buffer zone of completed school projects and household chores and such). Other NaNoers are probably in the same boat there. I dunno.

Either September or January would get my vote, though. =D

It's been ten years since the defeat of the Monoceraptor... Maybe a Tyrannia theme? Way back when there was a crashed time machine in Tyrannia, so there's a precedent for time travel in Neopia. Time travel is vague enough that there are plenty of possibilities for plots, but a solid enough concept that people would pick up on it being a common theme.

Everyone seems to like September... How about the Faerie Festival, or The Faeries' Ruin: One Year Later?

Ooh, this would be fun.

Couple of cents for me to throw in:

-This should just be a light theme, to allow the broadest amount of participation. No big plots or anything like that; save that for April Fools. Gypsy month just included gypsies, and we agreed on their names, but that was as complex as it got.

-I vote for September. If this is in October, you'd have to count me out; my Spooky special lasts the full month. X3

-I also cast my vote for Mr Coconut! D:

-This will probably have to be for a whole month, and not just one issue. I think last time we agreed that asking Droplet to choreograph an additional "special issue" at our whim was a bit presumptuous.

I still think that the last two weeks of September and the first two of October would be best. People that can't do October can do late September, and it gives us two extra weeks.

September's the earliest it would be, though, and of we do it then, we'll need a theme (along with whatever minor details we want) within a month, at the latest, and the quicker we have one the more time we'll get. Here's the suggestions so far (with one of my own in there, too):

-Mr. Coconut
-Neopian Music
-Superheroes
-Detectives
-Spies
-Tyrannia
-Time Travel
-Faerie Festival/Faerie's Ruin Anniversary
-Neopian Quests (Faeries, Edna, Brain Tree etc.)

I like Mr. Coconut, although I think it might be hard to make it fit in stories, especially non-comedic ones. The rest would all be good though.

What other ideas do we have?

Also, I mentioned this in the first post, but nobody's given an opinion yet: how would everyone feel about trying to get people on the NTWF neoboard involved, even if it only gets mentioned on there once we have a theme?

They'll probably find out anyway. xD We may as well extend the invitation to them. I mean, we don't need to make a special effort to go around posting official announcements for everyone to see or anything, but it would probably be polite to make it clear that they're welcome to contribute. We can't exclude them, after all.

...And I totally just got an idea for a non-comedic Mr. Coconut story, so I'm going to third/fourth/fifth the motion and stand with the guys over in that camp. >__>

Well I was thinking we could at least have a petpage with all the info on it, so that people on Neo can see what's going on a bit easier.

I'd probably do something comedic, so I'd be happy to go with Mr. Coconut, I just think it might be a little too limiting on serious works. Then again, I guess since the theme doesn't need to feature too greatly in the story, it could work. But yeah, we still want to wait for more ideas to come in. =3

Well, Mr. Coconut could work with mysteries (The Hunt For The Missing Coconut), adventures (The Search For The Coconut) and other articles (Famous Coconuts of Neopia) but it might be more limiting than other options. Also, I think superheroes detectives and spies can be merged into one topic, or at least detectives and spies together. And my vote goes for time travel right now.

Oh man, count me in. I was a huge fan of Gypsy month when you guys did that, I'd love to be a part of this. xD;

I'm fine with doing whatever subject you guys want to work with, but Mr. Coconut does seem like a fun character to work with. =D

I really enjoyed gypsy month and would love to do it again. The month doesn't matter to me, as long as it isn't too soon.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of writing about Mr. Coconut, but I do like a lot of the other ideas, like time travel and superheros and meowclops and detectives. ^_^

I'd like to participate in this...although I can't garauntee I'll get it finished, I'll be starting University soon and I've been suffering serious writers' block lately. As for ideas, I like the suggestion to have a cameo of a certain character in every piece. Or we could come up with our own character to have recurring (example: Joey the cowardly Blumaroo)
