Partially I'm posting this because it's a good song, plus Nick Cave and Blixa Bargeld are both excellent musicians.
Partially I'm posting this because their hair is terrible, the video is hilarious, and they're quite obviously drunk. It's like 80% of their filming budget went to wine.
Someone help me I can't stop posting Nick Cave
And some more Blixa:

Storm - I really like Bedouin Soundclash, too. They are the perfect walking-around-the-city-when-it's-summer music. ^_^
Teow - One never needs an excuse for posting Nick Cave. *cries because everything is so beautiful* edit: also, I've discovered the simple pleasure of listening to a song with www.rainymood.com/ playing in the background. It's incredible what the sound of rain can bring to music. Especially Bombay Bicycle Club's "You Already Know". Just... wow. Wow wow wow.

So I was browsing sharethreads and came upon a beautiful EP by The Black Atlantic. It's called "Darkling, I Listen". I haven't gone through the entire thing yet, but I'm planning on listening to the rest of their discography. They seem interesting. :3

Thinkin' bout Thomas Dolby. You might know him as "that guy who did She blinded Me With Science", which would be accurate. Accurate, but a little unfair.
A lot of the comments on youtube are about how Steampunk the videos come across. Which I find pretty funny, because his new album "A Map of the Floating City" is steampunk inspired.

Man, I forgot the simple pleasure of browsing YouTube for music. You can really find some beautiful stuff through clicking the related links. I went from listening to Bon Iver covers, to post-rock, to house music, then back to post-rock, and then ended up on synth-pop. It's nice to just aimlessly wander without actively seeking out a specific group or song. I don't think I've done this since I discovered torrents and started listening exclusively to albums... One band that I came across last night that I am really glad I discovered is Magic Man. They're this synth-pop group and I can honestly say that I've highly enjoyed every song of theirs I've come across. Their album is available for free download over on bandcamp, so if you're into dreamy electropop you should check it out! =) This all gives me an idea for a discussion! (I figure it would be a good way to kick some more life into this thread, haha.) Are there any bands/musicians that you came across by pure chance or accident and are forever grateful you did?

I got all excited when you said synthpop. I forgot that the term has been repurposed recently. Not that there's anything wrong with what you posted! It's just funny. Magic Man definitely has that aimless ephemera that I've come to associate with Indie in general, as opposed to the more 'hook-y' and structured sound that I expect from the genre. To answer your question: The Skyflakes. Plastic Tree. I found them by chance while I was going thought a Limewire user's files. XD I actually have a good number of the CDs legit now. They're really good! Came across Santigold when she opened for Architecture in Helsinki in 07 (and was still Santogold). One of those rare times when an act you've never heard of is better than the one you specifically came to see. Case de Chihuahua. I saw them in a tiny side room at a Halloween show, down on the floor with the audience pressed in all around them. Coincidentally, one of the best nights of my life.

Ahh, my apologies! I'm really bad at classifying genres. I guess it's more like dreamy ~ indie ~ synthish-pop than actual synth-pop. xD I will have to check all of those out! I'm in one of those zones where I just want to absorb as much new music as possible, so yay links are great.

i know my taste in music typically differs from even the most musically educated of the forumites, but are there perchance any fans of iamx lurking in the shadows of the netwuff somewhere? i've just recently rediscovered them and... wow.
these songs are perhaps a little different from the usual, but still absolutely beautiful and i wanted to share.

Dude! IAMX and I have some happy, happy memories. I saw them at an absurdly tiny bar called the Northstar with my not-yet-then boyfriend. I thought the song President was particularly good.
