At this point I'm writing a lot of garbage in my story to keep up, because I've shifted my focus onto a Christmas-themed game making competition with a pretty large sum of money as the grand prize. xD; Gah, so many things to deuuuuu...

I want to write 15k today.
But I've got homework.
I have to buy a phone.
I have to get my cousin a birthday present-- art supplies.
And then I have to go to his birthday dinner.
MUST. GET. 15K. >:/
See, I even got up... Well, not really early, but I tried to get up early for a head start!

Looking at my NaNo graph, which looks like a staircase--one large advance, followed by a period of no change, then another sudden increase--I'm remembering how I tend to have issues with burnout, writing a lot over a short period of time and then failing to do anything for several days. I can't help thinking how much closer to the quota I'd be if I hadn't started eight days late, but at over halfway through, I am absolutely going to finish by November 30 no matter what. I've told so many people that I would that I have to; I just have to make myself keep going and not get too concerned about sleep for the next three days. It's only three days, after all, and that's more than enough time.
All week, I've been planning to spend one day staying up all night to catch up. I keep putting it off, but I've decided that has to end now. I'm not going to bed till I hit at least 40,000. >O
EDIT: I hit 32,343 at around half past midnight, and have just reached 35,737 at three in the morning. The double numbers at the end of my word count amuse me. I have to get up at 6:30 for school, so I think I may as well just make this an all-nighter. No sense stopping now that I've finally gotten going. I'm keeping myself awake by having the heater turned up really high; I find it impossible to sleep in a hot, stuffy room.
I wish the NaNo site would stop freaking me out by saying that I have only 1 day remaining when there's still all of Tuesday. Then again, I really do hope I can finish before Tuesday, because I'm not confident of getting anything done before midnight. It seems to go against my nature to actually do work at a decent hour.
EDIT: It's 6 AM... I just hit 39,016 words... almost... ... there... ... ... And then there's ten thousand more aaaaaaaaaagh

Weee, finished Sunday morning around 2am. ^_^
Tired now... All I need now is an actual good story and I might try again on my own...

Well, I failed my self imposed challenge of completing a series by the end of the month, although, I will admit, 7 of a possible 10 chapters completed (I think that's what the amount will be, judging by past series that I've written, but I'm not sure yet), along with a 8th one in progress, is still pretty good, considering how busy this month was (final projects and exams slowly creeping up closer to the end of the month, along with a lot of Neo stuff happening as well). This is a good experience as well as I now don't have to rely on whenever inspiration strikes me to write as much, causing me to write bits and pieces, thus slowing down the pace as I don't know when it will strike again.

Thanks, Strife, and congratulations! Don't worry, my first NaNo was pretty much the same way, full of random plot twists and nonsensical garbage towards the end. xD It was quite a mess, but knowing how the experience felt allowed me to plan slightly better for the next year, and it was definitely inspiring to see just how productive I could be in a short amount of time. Congratulations also to Gammock! And Lupehunter, seven chapters is definitely nothing to sneeze at, and I agree that the NaNo experience is worthwhile just for how inspiring it is for the rest of the year. As for me, I paid dearly for the all-nighter in attention span at school yesterday, so I collapsed in bed at 6:30 PM. xD; But now I've just woken up at 3:30 AM on the last day, refreshed and bound and determined to write 11k before midnight. I'm planning to write for the next five hours before I have to leave for school (thank goodness today is the day when I have no classes for the first two periods), and then come home at 5:30 and marathon whatever words are left. It's going to be really close this year, but there's enough time.

Go, Nut! ^___^ You can do it, we all believe in you! Go Nut! =D You're totally Nuts enough to pull this off. As for me... Yeah, more garbage typing to reach 50k. xD; I are winnar? Don't worry, Strife. xD My first NaNo was a garbage-fest full of filler, plot holes and idiots. The important thing is that you enjoy the experience. ^^

Must hit 30k by morning. Otherwise, I'm... Well, I'm not going to make it. It's difficult enough to do 15k, let alone 20. If I hit at least 30k today, I'll go all out tomorrow and just write and write and write. Also, I've found I write faster if I don't look at the word count. ^_^; *nervous rambling*

Oh that's right! Avvie change Thanks, Nut! I kind of feel like I had too easy of a time, though, writing from experience, i.e. my own past and present events. Next year I'm going to try for something completely new to make it more difficult. Not that writing 50,000 words wasn't a challenge; I'm really not that interesting... XD

Go, go, go, everyone! If you can't think of anything at the moment, have someone completely random parachute out of the sky to, I dunno, serenade one of the characters only to be swept away by the slipstream of a passing road train, or whatever What's that? Have a story that doesn't accomodate modern technology? All the better!

Last night I power-wrote a whole bunch of words and achieved victory! Life is marvelous! So anyway, I just spent this morning writing out an outline of the plot I have left for my novel. Yeeeeeeeah, apparently my plot is more long and complicated than I originally thought. XD; Definitely saving the rest for next year, I'm sure I can get 50,000 with all this no problem. At least next year I'll have all the good parts! *thumbs up*
