((Plot: There are a number of kingdoms in a circle in this world, within each residing humans, and magical creature of the same element (ex: Paytah has phoenixes and dragons, creatures of fire). A darkness has fallen over this world, and the only way to stop it is to collect the amulets in each kingdom, place them all in the stone in the center of the kingdoms. This will create a portal to where the Keepers reside. These Keepers will bestow their gifts upon those who travel to them, giving them the ability to defeat the darkness.
This RP begins 2 years after the darkness comes.))
Name: (Princess) Emberlynn (of Paytah) (fire), prefers to be called E Species: Fire Demon-Dragon/Witch Age: 12 in human years Abilities: some fire magic, flying, some spells, ability to turn human/dragon, and when she has a strong negative emotion, to turn into a scaly human demon thing that she can't control, and if she loses her necklace, she loses all her powers, and the next person who puts them on , and all of her energy, physical and magical, comes from moonlight Personality: mischievous, slightly short-tempered, sometimes helpful, bookworm, completely abnormal, convinced humans are stupid, likes to use their own words against others Appearance: she wears a black shirt and black pants, and a cloak colored to look like fire, and a gold necklace that has an E on it, long brown hair tied back with an orange cord, red eyes Past: She was, and still is a princess. She went to the library every day for three years straight, and stopped only because her older brother, who had lost his inheritance (the throne) when E and her twin (C, heir to the throne of Paytah) were born (he wasn't responsible, mature, etc.) and right before the darkness came (that her brother soon went to) he tried to kill her sister, but actually went for E, who pretened to die, and has been plotting revenge every since. Her brother, who after thinking he had killed E (who had conveniently hidden her necklace) told everyone that C, her sister, had done it, stripped her of her title and banished her, but secretly taking C's necklace, which had the same basic properties as E's, before. E has recently learned that her necklace is one half of the amulet of fire.
E stared at her reflection in the still water. She wished home would be as peaceful like this...but no. Her mother and father had disapeared two years ago, her brother she was glad to be without, and no one knew where her sister had gone. No one could help her find the amulets...hardly anyone knew, anyhow. She hope someone good would come across her soon. Hopefully not human. She sighed and pulled a book out of her bag next to her and began to read about the good stories, from before the darkness.

Name: Ky'sta Species: Drow Elf Age: 6 Abilities: Unknown Personality: Shy, thoughtful and quite forgetful. Her mind seems to have been erased of all memories of where she came from. Appearance: A small elf of ash black skin and snowy white hair that reaches her waist. She wears a simple hunter green dress with a black cord around her waist that matches the ones holding her hair in two braids down her back. Past: Unknown
((Wh00t for mysterious charries ^^))
Just along tthe water's edge a small elf floated along an invisible current. Groaning she stirred and opened her eyes but did not move. Where am I? She thought groggily in the still waters. Are beds supposed to be this wet? Should I get out? Why am I here? Yet still she made no effort to move as the waters carried her along.

Name: Alexander "Xander" Cirrus Species: Human/Swordsman/Air Mage Age: 17 Abilities: Alexander was taught how to wield a sword at a very early age by his parents, both of whom were respected warriors in their kingdom, Anima. Meanwhile, his older sister, a mage, taught him air sorcery as well, and now he knows how to fly, hear faint sounds that non-magical humans cannot comprehend, create violent tornadoes and windstorms, and make shimmering air shields. Unfortunately, he cannot inject his magic knowhow into his swordfighting - in short, they don't go well together, and he is not to bewitch his sword. His weakness is archery and any other kind of magic, but he can do basic healing. Personality: He has an insatiable appetite for knowledge and is always yearning to learn more, which is why he has tried magic even when he has already established himself as a good swordsman. Alexander can keep his cool in the direst of situations, but when he snaps, he snaps really hard. Many girls have hoped to fall into his arms, but he has no eyes for women - in short, he doesn't fall in love easily. He's not gay either, though, and he doesn't trust many people. Appearance: Short, dirty blond hair that's messy in an attractive way, twinkling brown eyes, tanned skin, broad-shouldered, muscular build, often wears a white, long-sleeved shirt with a blue vest trimmed with gold over it, brown trousers, black boots, and a leather belt with a scabbard for his sword. He always carries a small book of basic air spells in his pocket, and also carries a dagger. Past: Xander was born into a prestigious, rich family in Anima, and has been trained and schooled by his warrior parents and his sister, who is older than him by 10 years. Now he currently lives only with his sister and her husband, after a mysterious disease claimed their parents. He is often badgered to get married and settle down, but he has no wish to do so, and would prefer roaming around, seeking adventure.
A young man cut through a thorny bush with his sword, brushing his bangs out of his eyes and squinting up at the sky. He was an adolescent nearing the verge of adulthood, and because of this, his 27-year-old sister, Alexria, often told him to just find someone to get married to, saying that it would have been their deceased parents' death wish. He shook his head as he stepped through the severed branches of the bush, wondering why Ria often entertained such strange notions.
Alexander shrugged as he walked on, and spied a young girl seated by the water, reading a book. For a moment he stopped, praying fervently that this girl wouldn't be like all the others - those who wanted to marry him so badly that they stalked him every day of their life. As if they had nothing better to do, he thought sagely to himself, picking a thorn from his sleeve.

((You can make it up. I don't remember exactly what aytah means, but I remember it has 'fire' in its meaning.))
E stopped reading for a moment. She felt like some other living being was near. It's probably just an animal or something, she thought, and continued reading the tale of a celebration of victory of some war a century or something ago...then closed the book. These were boring. She would have much preferred to read about some general defeating the enemy in the war, not some party she would never have been able to see without some deception and sneaking out of the castle, even if she hgad been alive then. But these would probably boost her spirit at some point when all seemed hopeless. She wished she could go back home and steal a book about past adventures.

The elf stared up at the inky black sky above as the current swirled about her aimless. I have a name right? She thought to herself. What was it again? Ky'sta, right. Yet I still don't know where I am. This sky looks right but why? I don't even know where I am or even where I am supposed to be.
Suddenly a sharp pain bolted through her skull like a red hot dagger and Ky'sta yelped in pain and tore at the water frantically. A surge of water suddenly bulged and washed the tiny drow onto the water's edge. The pain subsided quickly and Ky'sta lay flailed on her side trying to catch her breath.

(Okay, I found a good name for the air kingdom...Anima means breath, or wind, or air, or more specifically the breath of life in Latin. ^_^)
Xander bent down and picked off a thorn in his boots and walked closer to the young lady, smoothing back his dirty-blond hair and wondering whether she knew where the next rest stop was.
"Excuse me, miss," he began slowly and politely, "if you would please show me to the nearest inn?"

E looked up. It was a human. "Okay," she said. "It's that way." She hoped she sounded more cheerful than her current thoughts made her feel as she picked up her bag, stood up, pulled the hood of her cloak over her to try and conceal her identity, and began to slowly walk in the direction she had pointed.

"Thank you," said Xander gratefully. "May I know your name, madam? I try to remember all the people who have done me good so that I may pay them back." He followed her, wondering why she needed a cloak; it wasn't even chilly.

"My name...call me E."
An hour later they reached the town and the inn. E made herself comfortable in a chair and pondered on what to do now. Maybe this human could help me find the other amulets or something... "Should I tell anyone?" she asked out loud.

Silently Ky'sta had followed the strangers to the cozy looking inn. Her dress was heavy and clinging and cold from the lake but still she was hesitant to go inside. Would it be safe? Was she supposed to be there or even allowed? Her eyes fell upon a long stick lodged in the brush and held it up in front of her like a child playing with a sword and approached the weakly-lighted doorway.
Ky'sta squinted a bit at the light filling the interior and looked around. It was quite late and barely anyone was down in the tavern. What is this kind of place anyways? she wondered eyeing the hushed customers and keeper. The old woman behind the bar blinked as she saw the small drow and whispered frantically to her husband. Who in turn coughed nervously and diverted his eyes realizing Ky'sta was staring at them.
Slowly her eyes went from her reflection in the puddle forming on the floor beneath her hem. Then at everyone again. This can't be right Ky'sta pondered. Why am I all ashy looking when no one else is?

Xander turned to the young lady as he sat down before a small table near her. "E's your name, you say? Very well then, 'tis a pleasure to meet you, Madam E. Would you like me to pay for your room? I've decided to stay here for a night or so, but if you wish, I can accompany you wherever you may go. I am honor-bound to repay."
As a chubby waitress brought him a bowl of salad and accepted several coins out of his pouch, he heard E say something.
"Tell anyone what?" Xander whispered, spearing a lettuce leaf with his fork.

"Okay. I'll tell you later." E spotted Ky'sta. "Who's that?"

Ky'sta dropped her makeshift wooden weapon and silently curled up in the corner. That is why everyone is looking at me. I'm alot different than them. Smaller. Darker. Is it a bad thing? I hope not. I don't want people mad at me.
The innkeeper and his wife simply exchanged glances and shrugged. Customers hesitantly resumed their hushed chatter and dining.

Xander looked up from his finished meal. "Hmm? Oh...well, I dunno, but it looks like she needs help." He stood up, shoving his chair aside and walking towards Ky'sta.
"I promise you that I will not draw my sword, or try to attack you at all unless you attack me first." He kept his arms crossed to show that he was not reaching for a blade or summoning a destructive tornado with his air magic. "Tell us, who are you, and what do you want?"

E decided to read her book, flipped through it for ten seconds, remembered ti was boring, and just sat in the chair, waiting for the strange girl to respond.
