Salah's eyes had been slowly widening for quite some time in a mix of "Are all these people crazy" and "Is this really a safe place for me to be?" The mage had known upon coming that mercenaries were hired to do dangerous missions sometimes, but she'd just thought she could stay out of real trouble. After all, she was just doing this because she wanted to be able to earn some money. If assassins attacking was considered normal, however... Not that anyone would have any reason to come after her, but Salah thought she'd rather keep her distance all the same.
Inching over to where Rain, the only person she'd ever even spoken to who wasn't busy with Fenrix, was sitting, Salah tapped her right shoulder. "Are assassins a regular occurrence here?" she asked the other girl in a whisper.

Fenrix smiled. "Something like that..." She bristled at Elycien's words. "It wouldn't have been so easy if I hadn't had an extra agenda.."
Shiloh leered at Blitz, he actually enjoyed antagonizing this cat. "Good human." He liked Hades, he had excellent hands. He was amused by the gathow's obvious dislike for him.
Fenrix frowned. What was she going to do anyways? She started to talk but stopped and rolled her eyes at Shiloh, who sniggered. "What?" Shiloh bared his teeth in a cat grin. "Why don't you tell them the other reason you let yourself get captured so easily." Fenrix bared her own teeth at him, hissing softly. "I was getting to that." She looked back at Elycien, shifting uncomfortably. "I'm done working for Takehiko...I...I want to join the mercenary guild. I knew I could get in if I ruined the assassination attempt, I would get into the guild with little or no resistance."

" I will stay for now Elycien." Cyborg agreed. " So you wanted in the mercenaries. But you had to purposely fail to kill me first." he added.

"Sort of. I really was going to kill you, but when you went into the mercenary guild, I found a way to get into the guild without actually...asking." She winced, it sounded stupid, even to her.

Hades almost laughed at that. "You asked anyway. Or implied that you were going to do so."

"I see and does Shiloh agree that was a great idea? No offense but that was one of the worst explainations I've ever heard." Cyborg said.

Fenrix hissed, taking a step forward. "You got something to say to me?" She gripped Cyborg's arm, squeezing it tight, before she was able to regain composure. "Shiloh goes along for the ride. This is our job, it's what pays for our food and my equipment."

Post by Vyt: Down, but Not Out on Jun 12, 2007 19:35:24 GMT -5
Still peeping through the opened door of the council room, Vyt had somehow regained his stealth as he noticed the people inside start another conversation, this time interrogating the assassin that had made such havoc inside some time ago. However, from out of nowhere, something had diverted the half-feline’s attention yet again. This time, it was a mouse. A smart mouse, in fact. It had the courage and wits to enter the room undetected even by the cat-looking creatures inside.
Vyt’s animal instincts snapped him out as he involuntarily picked up one of his throwing kunai. Not thinking twice about the great risk of getting detected, he swung his weapon towards the rodent. However, the swing caused the door to be pushed further, giving a wider image behind it. Too late to hide himself again, Vyt simply reacted with:
"Uhh... Hi?"

Despite herself, Elycien grinned. "I have to admit, I like your style. You're right - failed assassins usually have an easier time getting in, because we've already seen them in action. Still, that was pretty risky. You were lucky I was curious about you. If I was in a worse mood, or if it was someone else, you might have been killed, no questions asked." She crossed her arms. "Well, now that everything's out in the open... I don't suppose anyone has any objections to Fenrix joining?"
Before she could say more, Blitz hissed again and stood up, his fur bristling and making him look bigger. "I do! You heard her... if she says, that stupid cat of hers does too, and I know I'm not putting up with him. He'd get in everyone's way."
Bliz grinned lazily to herself. "And you don't?" she murmured from her position on the floor, but none of the others heard her.
Suddenly, Elycien quickly swiveled around, gun suddenly in hand, as she heard the door swing open. A catlike boy with a kunai was standing there, looking suddenly embarrassed.
"Uhh... Hi?"
"And there's something else," Elycien remarked to the others, not looking away from Vyt. "With all of us preoccupied in here, no one's on guard duty. Let's finish things quickly, please." She stood up. "What are you doing here? This is a private meeting." Vyt didn't look like an assassin or spy and he wasn't acting like one either, but Elcie knew from experience that one should never jump to conclusions like that.

Vyt tried to regain his composure as he confronted the group. Trying his best to force himself from not laughing due to his idiotic action, he let out a shaky smile.
"And there's something else," Elycien remarked to the others, not looking away from Vyt. "With all of us preoccupied in here, no one's on guard duty. Let's finish things quickly, please." She stood up. "What are you doing here? This is a private meeting."
Slowly standing up, Vyt let out a sigh as he tried to minimize the tension he was having.
"Well... I... Uh..."
Not finishing his statement, Vyt rushed towards the group and extended his arms toward Shiloh. Ever since he heard the cat talk, he could not bear the excitement of having him as entertainment for his own.

Fenrix heard Blitz's outburst, but said nothing, hiding her grin and shooting a look at Shiloh, who blatantly ignored the male's stinging remark. "Thank you for letting me stay. I promise not to kill anyone I shouldn't." She fiddled with an arrow she had pulled out of her quiver, when Vyt had come into the room she had drawn her bow and placed an arrow in it, almost shooting it.
Vyt picked up Shiloh, who gave a sharp hiss, protesting at being picked up. He refused to talk with this grabby human holding him. "Mrowr!!!" He spat, hackles standing on end. Fenrix outright laughed, she understood Shiloh. The mrowr translated into 'this human had better put me down.'

Vyt was having fun seeing Shiloh’s violent reaction when he picked the cat up. He clearly understood what the cat said after that, but he decided he’d keep his ability to understand cat language a secret.
“Oh no, I’m not putting you down! You’re too adorable for me to do that...”
Vyt suddenly stomped his foot. From his suit came out another throwing kunai. Without any hesitation, he swung his foot towards the wall, making a fairly large crack on it.
“... But adorable enough for me to take home with!”
With Shiloh still on his hands, Vyt ran through the crowd, not giving any respect for anyone he crossed with. He thought he had successfully made his escape as he jumped towards the crack.

Fenrix raised a brow. "Looks like I just found my next target. Good. I'm hungry." She saluted Elycien with her arrow, strung it to her bow, and silently followed him. "I'm not that worried, Shiloh...has his own secrets."
Shiloh roared, biting down on Vyt's arm. He grew bigger and bigger until Vyt was forced to drop him. He was now a large, bicycle-sized panther cat. His eyes flashed as he bared his teeth again, threatening to bite again. "None of that." He bellowed in a low voice. It sounded like a large bell. He backed away, hackles raised. Fenrix laid her hand on his shoulder. He was big enough that she didn't need to worry about stooping down. "See, Shiloh is quite the treasure. And I can tell you he's a one-woman cat." She raised her bow and brought the string back to her ear. "Now, unless you want this arrow in your head, you'll answer me. What is your name? And what in Mya's name are you doing here?" She snarled.

When Vyt grabbed Shiloh, Hades almost punched him. Almost. Not quite, because Shiloh seemed like he could handle himself. But the cat's transformation into a panther surprised him. "Interesting," he murmured. "I think I like that cat." Walking forward, he stood near to Vyt, taking care not to get between Fenrix's bow and the cat-person. If he tried to run, even if Fenrix somehow missed him with her arrow, he didn't think Vyt would be able to escape him too quickly.

Vyt thought he had successfully made his escape until Shiloh finally reacted on his instincts, biting his arm to release himself. Involuntarily, Vyt tripped down the floor, grasping his wound (or what could've been). Seconds later, he had recovered from the bite, only to find out the cat he was holding earlier changed into a panther ready to pounce him down. He had also noticed everyone else had their guard raised as they arm their respective weapons.
Instead of shaking in fear, Vyt managed to give his real smile. "Finally", he sighed.
"See, Shiloh is quite the treasure. And I can tell you he's a one-woman cat. Now, unless you want this arrow in your head, you'll answer me. What is your name? And what in Mya's name are you doing here?"
Vyt stood up, seeing that he had everyone's attention diverted towards him. He noticed someone behind him trying to secure him in place, but that was not really necessary. After all, he never meant to infiltrate. Removing his mask, he unveiled himself to everyone.
"I'm Vyt from the Ninja Guild. I've come to the Mercenary Guild to apply as a recruit. Since I'm a ninja, I might be considered an assassin if I just entered right in, so I've been hiding."
Before Vyt continued, he started playing with his own tail, trying to make a hold of it and releasing it after that, to relieve himself of tension.
"... After quite some time, I've seen everything. You are a bunch of idiots claiming to be mercenaries, I think. It took you some time before you could even stop an assassin, and I even managed to enter the guild unnoticed with ease."
He stopped playing around with his tail as his eyes glared at everyone inside the room. His smile was erased from his face and was replaced by a neutral emotion.
"... And that's why I think you are the target of most assassins. If you ever want to be called 'mercenaries', you'd better be one."
"... And you? You'd better be off as a circus pet", Vyt added as he stared at the angered Shiloh.
