((I'm going to go ahead and start this. No particular plot in mind, either, so we'll figure something out as we go along ^^
... Oh yeah. As you introduce your character, make sure you mention if, in the RP, we should already know you or not. I don't want to go "Oh, hi, ____!" at you when your character is supposed to be new to the group.))
Three shots rang out in quick succession.
With the recent lull in any missions or interesting activity, Elycien had lately spent most of her time training, and she had to admit that her accuracy had improved, especially when she was using the electronic eye. Still, it was dull. There was really no other word for it.
Worse, perhaps, she was broke. They all were. The recent outbreak of war in the surrounding regions had subsided, leaving one very bored group of mercenaries out of work. These days, they had stooped to taking just about any odd job that came up. The most exciting job Elycien had these days was the occasional paid theft.
It was times like these that she actually did miss her old job. She'd been a bounty hunter, and a fairly successful one at that. When she became too well-known and the risks became too great, she'd decided, along with several others, to become a mercenary. Their organization was quite large now, and normally they were sought after.
Except for the long dry spells like now, which left Elycien itching for excitement and sadly cutting back on any unnecessary expenses.
At the slight, almost inaudible patter of pawsteps, Elcie turned. It was a sound only a Thirecat's ears could have picked up on, because Gathows were incredibly silent when they wanted to be. It was Blitzkrieg, the younger and more reckless of the Gathow twins. His tail twitched with excitement. "Elc! Someone's coming up the main road!"

((Well. I'll say my character isn't all that new... However, this is in the NTWF, correct? So you could know someone all the same. Just... not as a mercenary?))
Rain was flopped on a sofa longways. She tried to shift herself down it a little more, just to take up more space. She was sleepy and her eyes were only half open. The television was on and the talking heads--excuse me--newscasters were flickering in and out of view. Rain was on the forecast. The girl groaned. This only opened herself up for sick jokes.
Moist, cool air fluttered in through the windows, the spurts brought brief relief to the musty smell of the inside. The sticky feel wasn't really welcomed, though, and it inspired Rain to add 'new windows' to the list of what to get when money was in plenty once again.
Perhaps there would be no such luck in the near future, but at least it took her mind off the current boring series of days.

At the sound of voices, Salamander glanced around nervously. She scolded herself mentally for being startled by voices that were obviously coming from inside the mercenary base. Still, it was better safe than sorry, right? Dumb excuse, said a nasty voice from inside the girl's head.
Walking up to the door, Salah gave it two hard knocks with her left hand. Her right hand carried a six-foot staff, fidgeting with the grip every few minutes. Just in case somehow she was in trouble, she wanted to be prepared.
((As you can tell, Salah's new to the mercenaries. I guess if your character is part of the mage guild, they'd know her, otherwise, probably not.))

Knock. Knock. Hades looked up from his computer as the sound of knocking filtered through the noise of the Merc's base. Glancing at his computer's screen, he decided there was nothing he was doing that he couldn't do later, and rose, heading towards the front door.
Avoiding most of the other mercs, Hades came to the door, and opening it, said "Welcome. May I ask your name and business here?"

Blizzard peeked around the corner of the door that Hades had neglected to close on his way to the front door. The white Gathow's tail twitched with interest; it had been a while since there had been any new arrivals. A new mission would be welcome, although she supposed it just as well could be a new applicant.
The catlike Petpet sat down, tail still twitching, and watched with interest. She would report to Elycien later.

The knocks cut sharply through the daze that zoning out produced. Rain jerked to alert and twisted herself around to better see the door. "Oh, please, let this end this brutally dull spell," she muttered softly. Her legs twisted around slowly until the girl was in a sitting position, relaxed but alert.

The door opened, and Salah flinched slightly at the face she saw before her. Half of his face seemed to be made of metal, and, at a second glance, his neck as well. His hair was patchy, with spots of metal showing through on his head as well. The mismatched and glowing eyes she could ignore; her own glowed yellow. "Welcome. May I ask your name and business here?" he asked. You just did, thought Salah, along with, Yep, this is definitely the place. Good thing, too. For a while Salah'd worried she'd gotten lost and stumbled upon Camp Green Lake.
She swallowed, partly to clear her throat. "Uhm, yeah. My name is Salamander, I'm here to join up with the mercenaries... This is the mercenary base, right?"

"Uhm, yeah. My name is Salamander, I'm here to join up with the mercenaries... This is the mercenary base, right?"
"Yes, it is. And come in, Salamander. I'll take you to someone with higher rank." Hades bowed slightly, moving aside so that the girl could enter the building. She didn't seem very much like a mercenary, but that didn't mean anything. At a guess, he'd say she was a mage of some sort, for she carried a staff and carried no other weapon he could see. And there were two other oddities: her eyes glowed gold, and she did not seem to have a shadow, both of which pointed to her not being fully human, or a mage. Not that there was much difference.

"Thanks," Salah said, walking into the building a few steps.

(Ok my character isn't going to be unknown because I know Elcy from Pirates so I think I'm going to know her here too. Is that fine with you Elcy?) Cyborg was walking through some strange forested area which was supposedly near mercenary base. He was coming to see someone a mercenary named Elcien whom he had met three years ago.

"Thanks," Salamander said, entering the building. Hades closed the front door, and then began leading her to the general recreation/hanging out room ((the room that Rain's in)).

((Problem, Cyborg, the version of Elycien that I'm using here isn't the same as the version of Elycien from the Pirate roleplay. Her backstory is completely different. But if you want your character to know her from her bounty hunting days, it's fine with me. ^^ She was never a pirate, though.
... yyyeah. Just so everyone knows, my persona is different in each guild. ^_^; Goodness knows how I'm going to make this work once Guild Wars II rolls around.))
Not wanting to be caught spying, Blizzard quickly scampered back down the halls, taking a different and slightly longer route to the rec room. She claimed one of the armchairs and curled up, quickly assuming a nonchalant pose and washing herself as if she had been there all along. She gave the two only a brief glance as they entered the room, although her ears flicked forward in interest.
Elycien had started back to the main building when she picked up sounds coming from the forest. Slowly, she turned around and ran to the cover of the trees, where she could follow the intruder more easily. It didn't take her long to find him; he appeared to be a Kougra. Silently she jumped down from the tree to land behind him, and held her sword up across his throat to block his path.
"We do have a front door, you know," she murmured. "Tell me. Who are you and what are you doing here?"
They never could be too careful with assassins; once, the disgruntled losing side of a war had hired a few skilled ninjas to take out the higher-ranking mercenaries. They had only barely come out alive.
((She doesn't recognize Cyborg yet, see. ^^; ))

Silently, Arista headed through the woods towards the sound of people. Suddenly she stopped. Pearing through the trees, she saw a thirecat and a kougra.
She quietly walked closer to the pair.
((Arista isn't really known yet.))

((Are we asuming that the guild is in the city or the forest? Either way, Fenrix is different for each guild. I kind of have an idea, Cyborg, may I pretend to have a contract out on you? I won't kill you though ^__^ But it sounded like a good idea. I won't post until I get both answers though))

Hearing footsteps coming, Rain hastily shut off the flickering TV. There was someone else. At any rate, whoever they were, they didn't need to know the disrepair of the television right away. Or, for that matter, the stains on the couch. She flipped the cushions about to the undersides, which weren't as worn or mangled looking, then sat back down with a thud, head angled curiously at the door.
