" But Vyt you didn't enter completely unoticed as me and Salamander heard you when you tripped." Cyborg declared. " I agree we should give Fenrix a chance as long as she doesn't try to kill me in my sleep. Plus Shiloh is adorable." he added.

Despite what had seemed like overwhelming anxiety, Salah had to almost laugh at Vyt. She didn't have much experience in these matters, but she was pretty sure that sneaking into a base wasn't the best way to convince its occupants that you meant them no harm.
Her amusement disappeared when Vyt continued by explaining how incompetent all the mercenaries were. Had she come to a group of incompetent mercenaries? Salah was already fairly sure she was incompetent, but if everyone here was, she couldn't exactly get any better...
Cyborg's voice took Salah out of her thoughts. "But Vyt, you didn't enter completely unnoticed as me and Salamander heard you when you tripped." Startled, Salah remembered when she had thought she heard someone. So she hadn't been imagining things, then? "I agree we should give Fenrix a chance as long as she doesn't try to kill me in my sleep. Plus, Shiloh is adorable."
Well, Salamander thought. For someone who was just nearly killed, he sure got over it fast. Is everyone here crazy?

Vyt glared right back at Cyborg, not thinking about the last statement he said. "And you never cared to check who the person was? Geez, you're better off dead with the assassin", the half-feline hissed.
Quickly, Vyt turned his head away from the Kougra before he could get mad at him. Frankly, he was not a type of person who looks cool when angry. "... Anyway, I've decided... I'm going to join this little guild of yours... just so you have a person to lean your backs on when you're in trouble, which I'm sure you will be", he said.

Elycien raised an eyebrow. "More people are sneaking in these days... Salah, I think, is the only person who's decided to join the old-fashioned way." She shrugged. "It's fine with me, although I should warn you that it's a bit dull around here at the moment. Even if those assassins are going to liven things up, we're still not gonna get paid for it." The Thirecat paused, noticing something. "But Blitz likes you... I think..."
It was an extremely uncommon sight, indeed. Blitz was rubbing against Vyt's leg and purring. He glanced up at the new mercenary, yellow eyes glinting mischievously. "I approve of you. You tried to steal the idiot," he told Vyt. "I think you should do it again."
Blizzard rolled her eyes and cuffed her brother lightly on the side of his head, keeping her claws sheathed. "You moron," she moaned. Her light purple eyes flicked over to Shiloh and then back. "Quit making a mess of things. Besides..." The Gathow's voice lowered. "It might be nice to have another male feline around here."
"Oh, please...!" Blitz's tail twitched irritably.

Arista's mouse nose caught another smell from behind. Then her tiny ears caught the sound as a kunai was thrown in her direction. She quickly scurried across the floor to the other side of the doorframe.
"Uhh... Hi?"
"That idiot." Arista mumbled under her breath. At least the other cat's didn't come ofter her. Then she might turn out to be on the menu. From her spot, she could still hear most of what the group was saying, so that was good.
After a while, she peeked around the doorway and saw a panther size cat.
"Wasn't that that cat that came in with that assassin?" Arista mumbled to herself.

Fenrix didn't even twitch at the blatant disrespect. "So all mercenaries are morons eh? Well. Perhaps you'll think differently when I let Shiloh rip your heart out." She stepped back, making room for the big cat to move. "We don't need, or want your help. I highly doubt you could do much, cat-boy." She bared her teeth, menacingly grabbing his chin, forcing Vyt to look at her. "You better watch your back, or you'll be my next target. And I'll do it for free."
Shiloh renforced her words with a low growl. "I'll show you circus pet, you half-witted mouse-brained-" Fenrix cut him off. "Shi, I think you should go back to being a cat, I think you startled everyone with that change." Shiloh sneezed, then shrank, jumping back onto Hades' shoulder, the closest, and biggest thing near him. "Give him the ol' one two Fenny!" he chuckled.

" Shiloh you're not circus animal. A circus animal doesn't have the intellect of your caliber. Vyt you're calling us idiots and bad mercenaries? I'm sorry but I don't think any of us here are stupid but you, and I haven't heard of too many mercenaries let alone Ninjas who trip when sneaking in a place. Plus you think we'll let you join after you come in insulting us. I think Fenrix to join because she obviously has skill and an adorable but deadly friend. And what do you have? Bad sneaking skills and the ability to insult people" Cyborg replied.

Salah spoke before anyone else could reply to Cyborg, raising her voice so that no one could accidentally interrupt her. "Uh, is there something in the job description I missed that involves making everyone who's supposed to be your ally your enemy? Or is this just a bad day?" Salah knew that what she had just said probably wasn't the best thing to say when you were a newcomer to a guild of mercenaries tougher than you, but she pushed the thought aside. People arguing pointlessly like this infuriated her.

"Idiots, are we? How so? Because we do not fear? Because we are not as paranoid as you ninja? Because we can trust each other to watch our back?" Hades' voice was cold, almost emotionless, but his eyes blazed with fury. Literally, with his left eye, metaphorically with his right. He advanced on Vyt as he spoke. "I do not take insults lightly. And you are the only one to insult be in a long, long time. You, who dare take the mantle of a cat, hold none of a cat's honor, none of a cat's grace. None of a cat's intelligence.
"You are not worthy of being what you are, little one. And you will suffer for that." He grabbed Vyt, hardly noticing Shiloh as the cat landed on his shoulder. Taking hold of the cat-boy's right ear, he pulled, ripping it apart.
((Yes, that is a god-mode. Yes, you can change what happens, Vyt. Within reason, anyway.))

Fenrix chuckled and waltzed over and sat next to Elycien, watching this. "You said something about setting up watches? I can help with that, do all of your mercenaries know fighting and weaponry? We should probably brush up, since the war, those talents probably went unpolished."
Shiloh's gray eyes were wide with excitement. He wanted to munch on Vyt. "You may hold the cat tail and ears. But nothing else. Shame on you."

"Uh, is there something in the job description I missed that involves making everyone who's supposed to be your ally your enemy? Or is this just a bad day?"
Thas is not what Vyt was expecting. A bluff that worked in his application for the Ninja Guild turned out to be a catastrophe. People around him faced him and returned the anger he 'showed'. He was expecting them to be scared off by his taunts. Now he had to fix the whole darn thing up.
Idiots, are we? "You are not worthy of being what you are, little one. And you will suffer for that."
Hades grabbed Vyt's right ear and pulled it apart, causing Vyt's eyes to involuntarily close in response. Blood started to flow on the half-feline's short hair and manage to drip itself. Vyt, his face full of anguish, started to fight back the hurt he was experiencing. Eventually, he had managed to calm himself as he faced the one who had just made him experience great pain.
"Okay, bud. Stop messing with the HAIR."
By that time, his right ear had magically grown back as if nothing really happened. Unknown to those around him, Vyt had something more than just fast metabolism.
((God-mode equals god-mode, I say.))

((Hey, I would've let you twist away from Hades.))
Hades stared at Vyt. "Regeneration? That can be dealt with." He squeezed Vyt's shoulder, releasing electricity into him. Not enough to kill, but more than enough to hurt.

"Yes, they've all got basic skills," Elycien told Fenrix. "But I admit we've gotten a bit careless in recent months... we haven't had this much excitement in a long time. We'd been reduced to accepting missions that were just... odd jobs, really."
Elycien trailed off as she caught sight of what was going on between Vyt and Hades. She grimaced at how easily it had turned into a fight. She didn't like to interfere, but now that blood had been shed, she thought it had gone far enough. She took two quick steps forward. "That's enough!" she snapped. "Both of you, stop it. Vyt, as you can see, it's not really a good idea to start insulting us as soon as you step into the guild. I advise you stop before you go too far and get yourself killed. Pointless fighting like this is only a waste of energy. If you want us to accept you as a mercenary," she added to Vyt, "you'd better prove it with more than tough talking. And it looks like you'll get the chance for that pretty soon."
((Mercenary!Elcie is reminding me of someone, but I can't think of who. Heh.))

Fenrix smiled quietly, she liked pointless fighting. "Elycien, I have an idea. It seems to me that each mercenary has something to give, perhaps we may set up learning experiences for each other." She glared at Vyt. "That way, we may be ready for anything. Even if its just a all-talk-no-fight ninja." Again she shot a look at Vyt and whistled. "Shiloh, come away from there, let them sort it out."
Shiloh flicked an ear at her, and casually jumped off of Hades' shoulder, he sat down and washed his whiskers, then curled himself around her feet. "I still think you should let me smash him into bite-sized pieces."

Hades let go of Vyt. He'd caused the ninja enough pain, anyway. He didn't need to hurt him for no reason. "If you insult me again, you'll get worse," he warned. As much as he hated backing down, Elycien was right; the fight was pointless. He backed up, ending up leaning against the nearest wall.
