Welcome to the country of Dunburrow.
Our marvelous Castle Kestrel stands in the west and small villages surround the capital here and there, spotting the lush, green fields. A small lake lies nearby the castle, as does a massive forest, and mountains may be seen in the north.
Inside the castle, the library, servant's quarters, and kitchen are in the east wing; the infirmary, for all injured patrons, is in the west wing. The armory and the war chamber may be found in the fiery south wing, whereas the the Knights' quarters are found in the north wing. The heart of our castle, the Great Hall, is at the castle's core, easily reached from all points in the kingdom. And, lastly, the dungeons, cellars, prisons, and other such places may be located hidden in the deep earth beneath the castle itself.
This is the kingdom of the legendary Knights of the NTWF. They protect this land and patrol this entire country, protecting the innocent and rooting out the dark and the twisted.
All is peaceful in this land...or so we hope... For members new to the roleplay, I welcome you here. Little must be said to begin, I suppose, so just jump on in when you wish to. New characters may enter the roleplay however it is wished, whether you wish to have your knight awaken in the castle or take their first steps into Dunburrow or any of the infinite possibilities in between. If any assistance is needed, whether it be an explanation of how RPing works or what is going on, as well as inter-player discussion, the King's Stable is the place to seek it. UPDATED: 11/17/07 A brief synopsis of this roleplay here follows: The day begins with many new knights arriving at the castle. During breakfast, King Wolf appoints his council and it is made known that veteran knights cannot recall a thing from the day before, a cause for worry and suspicion. Meanwhile, a small group of troubadours arrives in the kingdom. Elsewhere in the castle, a maid attacks the knights but escapes their grasp. Lady Kat, the assaulted Knight, is taken to the infirmary to rest.
As the day continues, a couple Knights approach the troubadours outside while a man approaches King Wolf and presents him with the wardship of a young boy named Jonathan. Afterwards, some Knights gathered outside look up to see a large kestrel, the protector of the kingdom, fly overhead screeching. This accompanied by a recent infestation of cats prowling the halls and streets leads many Knights to wonder what is happening to Dunburrow. For those who participated in the Knights' Intro Role-play, here follows a synopsis to catch you up: As the day begins, the Knights of Dunburrow are preparing for the coronation of their new king. As the day goes on, however, an evil ascends upon the castle and news of its arrival is soon made known. The Knights Shade and Kit descend to the dungeons to face the evil, while the others and the Knights Shinobi and Wolf head for the ceremony, where the Green Knight Wolf is crowned King. Heeding the call of their comrades, those Knights attending the ceremony venture into the dungeons to assist in the battle. Meanwhile, the King climbs to the top of a tower to call forth the prowess of a forest god to cast the evil from the castle and put his Knights to rest.
At last, after the castle has been kept standing by the hands of Dunburrow’s valiant Knights, a new day is born. If your character was established and you wish to continue using it, they may awaken anywhere in the castle or in the infirmary as you see fit. If you wish to play as a new character, anything may go. An archive of the Knights' Guild first roleplay may be found here. And with all that said...let the roleplaying begin!

If its alright with you, I think I'm actually going to play a new person. And can we also take charge of a commoner type person thing...like a theif or servant or something of that sort?

Yep, that's fine, too. Just...if you do start as a new character, and if you already have a character profile in the East Wing, please tailor it (the profile) to match your new character so their is no confusion. Other than that, you are free to be anyone that you want to be.

It might make sense if you invented an excuse for your old character's disappearance too -- maybe they left the kingdom on a quest of their own or something like that. It might help things mesh more smoothly.

Certainly, all of this is a bit...OoC.
As for major revelations amid the battle, they could probably be secret once more.
As for continued discussion here...I know that the first RP began with something like this that ended up being scattered over the first few pages, but as we have an OoC thread, it'd be best to keep it all there.
So...with that said... ALL POSTS FOLLOWING THIS SHALL BE RP POSTS AND NOTHING ELSE. OoC discussion may continue in the King's stables, linked to above.

((I'll start! )) The beautiful sunrise was often a sight, and whenever you got the right spot to watch it from, it was worth all the trouble getting up before the break of dawn. The girl sat at a bench in the castle gardens, which was not too far from her quarters. She combed her long black hair with a comb looking like the silver crescent moon, steering clear of the large gold stars that dangled from her ears. She didn't have her usual blue cape with stars and moons all over, but she was dressed in a simple purple robe, which had the glistening gilded emblem of the Second Order of Flamel - a serpent entwined around a winged cross with a star at the upper right corner - on its right side. She didn't even have a matching cap to go with it. Shuffling her feet in fluffy violet slippers, Lady Kalianne Triss Lunara, or Kat, as she was called, pondered the events that had transpired last night, disentangling a stubborn knot in her hair. Castle Kestrel was recently under siege by unseen forces. For a while, they really were unseen, and it was hard living underneath the shadow of uncertainty. Fortunately, King Wolf's coronation ran smoothly, or at the very least, with minimal interruptions. Today was his first real day on the job. And as for Kat, the chaos had left her weak, physically and magically. Thankfully it was nothing a good night's sleep could cure.

Zari wandered through the corridors of the castle, Zahaere Emaya padding beside her in the Form of a Human girl, but with white cat ears. To avoid any problems, she had retracted her wings. The Blood knight was almost half asleep, walking out the doors and staring a the newly risen sun, before sitting down and grabbing a quill and parchment, writing a record of what she saw. 'A risen King, a risen sun. A new day.' 'Indeed, Zahaere. Maybe today will be a day of Rest. Maybe not.' Zari stood up,, brushed the grass off her dark red skirt, and wen't back inside.

"I," Shade said to the ceiling, "am bored." The infirmary was a carefully controlled place, guaranteed to bore any normally active patients. Patients like Shade, the Bronze Knight, phoenix of darkness, who was currently lying on a bed, staring at the ceiling, because a demon had broken her leg last night.
And because she was lying on the bed, not allowed out of the room, she was bored.
