Sage stepped carefully towards the quivering, snarling creature. His mind was carefully going through different possibilities as to what the creature might be, and so far, he hadn't found a match.
"Could someone knock it out or something?" Warlock asked, his teeth gritted. He and the creature had locked eyes, and the mental tension between them was almost tangible.
"Uh, lemme try," Sage offered. He reached forward for the twitching beast's long tail, gripped it between his hands and gritted his teeth. He squeezed for a moment, sending a jolt of light electric energy through the lizard's body, then another, and another. It lashed out at him, but Warlock had done his job well, and the creature's movements were slow and weak. Another jolt- and another- and the creature's consciousness began to slip. Finally he gripped as hard as he could and put as much energy as he could into a milisecond burst of magic. The lizard gave a half-screech, half-sigh, and gently collapsed onto the ground, its conscious mind having been gently overridden and steered towards a moment of stealthy oblivion.
Sage straightened, grimacing and rubbing his palms. The buildup of magic had burned them and scorched the skin. He'd overdone it, trying to impress the other, more experienced mages. He'd really have to learn to stop doing things like that, burning himself just to put an injured creature to sleep.

Hu tickled the monster's [scales?fur?wings?feet?something?], before asking another question, "Are you sure it's not dead? So what do we do with it anyways. I'm sure not too many people are going to appreciate a monster on the front doorstep, though... my mother might..." She floated around the monster, causing a slight rift in the air. "Whatever we do, we better hurry. The other monsters may be lurking near here..."

*He watches the beast slip unconscious and its screech had raked against his own mind like searing hot steel. Finally he drops his gaze from it and sags, breathing heavilly and leaning on his staff*Thank you *he nods and murmers in sages direction before making an obvious effort to regain his composure, now finally looking over the monster without needing to enforce his own mental barriers. At last he looks over to ikkin* Your call, Ikkin.

Ikkin took a deep breath. Now that the monster was in her power, she wasn't exactly sure what to do with it... But, she thought, first things first- try to figure out where it came from.
Ikkin suspected that the monster may have been a construct of the Manor itself- it wasn't all too uncommon for the Manor to create magical creatures, though all the others that Ikkin knew about had been harmless. So, she started looking for the tell-tale signs of the Manor's creations. As the monster was unconscious, she could not use its energy signature to determine this (though, she realized, even if it was conscious, it could probably hide that), so she looked for several other signs. The first one that she found was a magical marking on the monster's stomach that correlated to the magic of the Manor itself. This was definitely the Manor's doing, then, and she told the others that. "This monster was definitely created by the wild magic of the Manor. Usually, the Manor makes harmless creatures, but there's no denying that this monster came from there as well."
But, then, what to do with it? Such creations weren't really alive, per se, so killing it was a perfectly legitimate option. But, perhaps, there was someone who knew more about such creatures than herself. "In any case," she said, "if there's someone who would know about such creatures, we should take it to him or her, alive. Otherwise, it's too much of a risk to leave it like this."

We do have a creature-keeper here... but they havent been seen for a long time.. *he cautiously walks around the beast* You say the Manor created it...? *he frowns* When I was outside, before I heard your call, the Manor was shaking.. I "asked" it what was wrong.. the answer was clear, it was scared... Why would it be scared of something it made?
*he thinks for a while, crouching down infront of the creatures massive head, simply watching it breathe, his expression blank.. then suddenly his head snaps up* Could someone have created it With the wild magic? The possibility of a turn-coat Dark Mage is unsettling but not impossible

"Why? What are you saying? That someone in the manor created it? A mage? Are you absurd?!" Hu cried out, unreasonably disturbed. "There's no reason to think that." Hu's form changed back into her human form. "Creature-keeper? Is there even such thing here.. in the manor?"

*His eyes narrow mildly at Hu...* Perhaps.. *he resists the temptation to subject Hu to a bolt of infra-black.. but theres no time for suspicious now* Yes, there is, or at least, there was.

Realising her outburst was uncalled for, the ninja shrugged. "Well, either way, we better find the others, or someone who can do something with this ... creature."

*He lays a hand on the creatures head, between its eyes, seeming unconcerned.. his other hand rests on the floor, a brief flash of infrablack and a moments pause later, the manor strikes back at him as it did before.. he flinches, the strike bringing with it flashes of memory and knowledge.. sifting through it all he frowns* Well.. at least one thing is certain, we cant move this thing, it has to move under its own power.
So.... we have to wake it up.. Its the only way to work out what it is... and after that, we can force it to take us to the one who created it.

"But if we wake it up, it could try to attack us again, and since there are more of them, I'm not sure if that's such a good idea..." Hu's voice began to trail. "Maybe there's something in the library that we could use to move it or something." Her eyes continued to stare at the creature.

Go ahead and look *he frowns at the creature.. its breathing is random, first shallow and slow then deep and snorting* For some reason, I get the feeling this creature is supposed to live.. ((Echo... Echo... Echo... Where has everyone else gone? ))

"Well, who are we to argue with the Manor?" Ikkin said, half sarcastically. "In any case, it's worth knowing more about it, and it's bound to be weak enough so we could bring it down if it attacked us again. So, if you want to do the honors, Warlock, go right ahead."

*He sighs and nods wearilly.. a sharp flash lights in his eyes and his hand- still resting between the creatures eyes- twitches.. the creatures eyes snap open and blaze white... his hand doesnt move from its place so close to the monsters jaws and again the pair lock gazes... but there is none of the previous tension, regardless of its eyes being open, the creature looks like its still asleep.. Slowly slowly Warlock sifts through its unconscious mind, searching for a thread of consciousness to build on.. the monster starts to move and slowly, carefully gets to its feet* ((Im running out of ideas ya'll ))
