Ikkin decided to respond to Warlock first. "Well, as much as I don't like the idea of my memory being muddled, I think we should use whatever we can on that monster. As for my knowledge of the monster, and where I came from... I've been to this manor before. I'm the one who sent out invitations to mages from around the multiverse, thinking it would be a good idea to have a place where mages could train and learn from one another. I know there's a few times I would have liked something like that several times in the past..."
"Anyway, that doesn't really have anything to do with my ability to find the monster. I've trained my air magic a lot, enough so I can sense the minute changes in the flow of the air caused by other types of magic. So, when I felt Sage's magic suddenly disappear, I knew something bad had happened- magic doesn't disappear like that unless someone's dead or unconscious. By going to where Sage's magic was, I was able to find the monster. I've seen things like it before, creations of the Manor's uncontrolled magic, but usually, they don't attack people. Otherwise, I wouldn't have suggested this place for mages to meet."
Finishing her explanation, Ikkin took a deep breath. Then, she turned to Servi. "All in due time," she said. "I'll probably give a demonstration or a short course in air magic after we get the threat of the monster dealt with. And after you're comfortable using that arm. Though, I suppose I can give one pointer... it's not wise to use the air to hold yourself up until you're confident that you're completely in control. You'd get much less hurt if you were levitating a table and it fell than if you were levitating yourself and the same thing happened.
((Well, I myself was kind of confused. I wanted to just be another guest, but someone had already mentioned me inviting them, so I decided I might as well go with it. j;) ))

Ahh.. *he nods with a smile at ikkin* so it Was you.. When the first of us arrived, we wondered if it was some kind of joke, no one was here to invite us in, and no one claimed leadership..
*he nods again, simply listening to her explanation* Understood.. *he listens again and turns to servi* I refuse to heal your arm again if you make the same mistake
So.. How are we going to get this Beast out of the library?

"Well, we should figure out what kind of monster it is. That way, we'll have an advantage, than from just barging up there like reckless pirates. We'll need to speak with Sage, immediately," Hu stated, sharpening her dagger.

Im not sure if your dagger will be much use against this beast, Hu.. From what Ikkin has been explaining, physical force has little effect.. but *he looks at sage* how does this creature attack?

Sage rubbed his head ruefully. "I really don't know that much about it," he admitted sheepishly. "All I know is it's kind of serpentine, and fast. I didn't even have time to try and defend myself when it hit me, and I was facing it." He paused thoughtfully. "Ikkin, you use air magic, right? Maybe your abilities don't effect it because it uses air magic itself. After all, it's crazy fast... isn't air magic supposed to be related to speed?"

*he frowns* That could be a problem.. but maybe it wont be quite as fast with several of us to watch. Air magic can be related to speed, but not always. Speed can also be a mark of darkness, or light.. Spirit is also possible because that deals in illusions, maybe you only thought it was fast when it may have simply 'teleported' itself from where it was, to where you were.. This is going to prove difficult.. and it seems this is all we have *he motions around to himself, sage, hu and ikkin*

The asian girl smiled. "There's more to me than you think," she stated quietly, as part of her arm turned into fire, surrounding the dagger that she carried, and then she quickly changed back to her human form. "But of course, I couldnt kill the beast myself. We'd have to work together with our magic powers, I suppose. We dont know if it has any other powers."

*He merely nods to Hu* Only a fool would underestimate a resident of the Mage Manor. *A smirk crosses his lips at her confident boast* You're more than welcome to try, but I think we would rather have four in this team... *he glances outside then to ikkin* It looks like everyone else has taken to hiding in their rooms. Perhaps we should go and meet this thing before it causes any more damage?

Ikkin looks towards Warlock with a worried expression on her face. "Perhaps that would be the best thing... we'll never know what will work until we try, and we won't be safe until that thing is gone, along with anything else like it. All those who wish to fight, follow me to the library!" With that, she started walking towards the library, sword already drawn. Coming to the door, she stopped to give the others who followed her one last chance to leave if they wished. Then, she unlocked the door with a click, opened it, and stepped inside and let the others pass before closing and locking the door once more. She didn't want that monster getting loose in the Manor... who knew what it could do? ((Anyone who wants to fight, you're in the room, regardless of whether you mentioned that you were coming. So don't think that you're locked out. ))

*He draws himself up seriously and leaves his trench coat behind, draped over a chair. Then he follows Ikkin, gathering his thoughts and drowning out distractions with the trained silence of his mind. A slow, headache inducing haze of red-black gathering behind his eyes.
He steps past ikkin into the very dim light and narrows his eyes.. looking around slowly for the beast, but finding only rattling, nervous books*

Sage inched along the wall, looking carefully along each long corridoor of bookshelves and trying to scrunch his body into a minimum size. He almost regretted coming along.
He didn't see it. It could be anywhere, really- and with this thought, Sage glanced nervously above him toward the bookshelves- it had had enough time to move anywhere throughout the enormous Library. Like behind him. Or above him.
Sage was getting very nervous indeed.
At least there was only one of it.
Right?
After all, he'd only seen one... but that didn't mean....
His inner voice, the little nasty version of oneself that everyone has, started whispering. "Gert's Flora, Fauna and Fairie states that many reptilian mythilogical beasts breed at an enourmously quick rate, some performing a self-fertilizational technique to allow eggs to be laid in as quickly as three seconds... About how long were you out cold? How many lizards could be around here?"
Sage found that he had unconsciously gone from inching forward so as to investigate shelves to serruptitiously walking backwards.

*Unable to resist, a few quiet steps place him behind sage, and says very quietly at his shoulder* The monster is Always Behind you.. *he smirks, shaking his head and moves off again, taking a different path along the aisles*
*His eyes narrow as he looks around, something doesnt feel right, and its not the possible presence of a monster.. reaching out with his hand to touch the nearest bookshelf, his eyes widen... his hand goes straight Through the book and the shelf! His eyes raise and he opens his mouth to alert the others to this fact when something swoops and delivers a sharp blow to the side of his head, knocking him to the floor on his hands and knees*
*his hand flies to his temple and he flinches back the urge to use the stored infra-black, he looks at his fingertips, no blood. With a growl he gets up and looks around for the others*

"Warlock?" Ikkin asked, hearing a sound like someone falling to the floor from where Warlock's energy was. She ran towards him, stopping several feet in front of him. "What happened? It almost sounded like you fell... but there was nothing else over there! Shouldn't I have sensed something if the monster was there?"
Ikkin was rather worried now. Unlike Sage, Warlock had been looking for the monster, and it was quite likely that he still was attacked by it. And, it didn't really have any kind of energy signature that she could read. How would they be able to take down that thing if they couldn't even see it?

I did fall.. *he grits his teeth and growls under his breath, touching his temple and checking his hand for blood again* Something hit me... *he adds in a monotone voice, as one does when stateing the obvious. His eyes raise and he looks around again, his expression very obviously concerned when his eyes finally rest on Ikkin*I dont know Ikkin, I didnt feel anything until it hit me, no wind, nothing...
And theres something else... this isnt the library.. *he waves his hand through the nearest shelf and its books as he did just moments ago, except this time ikkin is there to witness it* We're flying blind here Ikkin, whatever this thing is, we're here on its terms now..

"Wow... how can anything be that stealthy..." Ikkin said. "Maybe it has to do with its powers of illusion... but still, this will make things difficult indeed... One thing still confuses me, though- I've been in the Manor before, and this has always been a library. Some of these bookshelves could have been made by the monster, but some were already here. Why would it make an illusion of what's already here, just to add more to it? Unless that's how it hides itself..."
Ikkin thought for a moment. "Perhaps it hides in the fake bookshelves. I don't think it's powerful enough to keep up that illusion while keeping itself concealed behind an illusion of air... and the bookshelves have to be there for a reason." She created a small tornado to go through the bookshelf that Warlock had just put his hand through and suck anything within up outside of the concealing effect. Nothing was there; Ikkin stopped the tornado.
"There's one problem, though... unless we can get rid of the illusions, we can't stop the monster from hiding in one we've already checked. Does anyone have any kind of magic that could prevent that?" Ikkin asked.
