Aly had been distracted for the time the mages and Mageri fought. She dropped to the floor as the room filled with debris, checking her boots and slipping out any throwing knife she could find. Heck, why not? "Lika!" she hissed. No. The girl swore and grabbed the feline's tail. "Come on!" No. We agreed to a deal--I am not going to go back on it because you need it! Aly was about to see just how much Lika could get injured, when she looked up and saw an unfamiliar Mageri holding Elycien. And swore again. If there was one part of her vocabulary that was impressive, it was that part. She started to leap to her feet, about to challenge the new Mageri, when she into a crouch again--this time, unintentionally. Don't. The girl hissed, rubbing her temples. Dang it. Why does the cat get all the power in the relationship? You're being stupid again. I'm supposed to stop you from getting yourself killed. The fire mage shook her head, unable to speak. Her head hurt too much to do so. Don't get up until I say so. Another slight headshake. You can't do anything now. Wait. Aly growled, but stayed still, concentrating on listening instead. If there was one annoying thing about having Lika for a familiar, it was that they both had the same degree of stubbornness. And Aly had no idea how to reverse the mental trick Lika used to keep her incapacitated. The cat carefully released the pressure, letting Aly get to her feet. She kicked a throwing knife that had landed on her boot earlier up, catching it quickly and glancing at the Mageri she'd seen earlier. At least MGA and Subila seem to have it handled, she thought, a pang of annoyance accompanying it. Curse it. She was next to useless without fire magic--in this case, anyway. Sheathing the dagger, she waited for the Mageri to respond. If there was one good thing about this, it was that two of the Mageri were at odds with one another. And that was never good for either.

((Sorry, I got lazy... come on, let get this moving again.))
Sarien felt something cold in her eyes. She blinked several times, and moved her head a little bit to try and stop the irritating feeling. The water mage. It has to be. She thought. He was probably trying to stop her spell, which didn't seem to be doing its job anyways. There had to be something they could do to gain an advantage, some weak point. Perhaps... Yes, that should work.
She signed some more hand signals, indicating specific actions and people. The other four Mageri who she had brought with her nodded in affirmative. One Mageri carefully cast a spell, directing it so it wouldn't be detected. Stones leapt from the ground again, this time only to capture the fire mage and her cat.
"A wrong move, and she gets crushed, along with her kitty." This time, she nearly spat the word 'kitty'. She was under the impression that it could be a familiar.

(I forgot to warn you that I put a spell-inhibiting ward near the lieutenant, so it should've negated the spell. Oh well, I guess I should twist this all around.)
Subila widened her eyes. Somehow, one Mageri was able to cast a spell she wasn't able to detect. She wasn't sure who was the target of the spell, but she eventually realized thanks to the stones that surrounded Aly and Lika.
"A wrong move, and she gets crushed, along with her kitty", said the Mageri. She was pretty confident about her spell. She was forgetting another factor, however.
Agna had already made her way towards the Mageri. With Subila's own hand signal, part of her fog began to condense in front of her eyes, trying to blind her. For Subila, she already cast her spell, covering Aly and Lika with a small dark cage that excluded the stones.
Before the cage could cover the two up, Subila warned. "Don't make any sudden moves while in the cage. Demons in my cage don't want companions who move a lot."
Inwardly, Subila was a little bit worried about Agna. Her fog had already diminished to only a small area around them. She knew fairly well that she should not rely too much on the tigress.

((Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Oh well, it looks like things will be getting interesting again. ...You meant that Agna was trying to blind the Lieutenant Mageri, right? If not, I can edit this.)) Sarien suddenly found that she couldn't see the mask in front of her face, much less anything beyond it. There seemed to be a dark mist in front of her eyes. First ice, now darkness. The main difference was that now she couldn't see, where it was just an irritation before. She couldn't see what they were doing, and thanks to the rock wall which still stood, they couldn't see what she was doing, either. She took her hand and tucked it into a small, pocket inside her vest. When she pulled it out, it was clasped around something. She took that something, and brought it to the mist around her eyes. The energy in the mist began to fade, as well as the mist itself. The object she held was one of the magic-absorbing crystals she had found earlier. How very useful they were turning out to be. Things were getting old, slightly complicated, and choices were more urgent. Perhaps it was time to take more drastic action... She gave a hand sign, then jumped up. Once she was high enough to see well above the earthen wall, she blew a strong gust of wind in the direction of the Mages. Three other Mageri ran out from behind the rock, and ran in three generally-different directions.

While the fight raged on around him and the mages became more distracted, Skelath saw his chance. Concentrating hard, he forced heat into the ice around his wrists and neck, and steam rose as some of it evaporated instantly. As soon as the water started trickling down the back of his neck, rather uncomfortably, he bent and in one swift motion grabbed hold of Elycien again, yanking her to her feet. He smirked. "Please don't try anything foolish. And that includes you," he added irritably to Sarien. "Occupy them, please. And you..." He tightened his grip on Elycien. "Transform. Now."
"What...?" Confused, Elycien looked up at him.
"Do as I say!" he snarled.
Forced with no other option, Elycien complied, transforming into a sleek dark cat with long ears. Skelath held her tightly, one hand gripping the scruff of her neck. "It will be easier this way." He started to walk slowly backwards, toward a hall that would lead them outside.
"Elcie!" Blitz jumped, tried to claw at Skelath, and missed. "You little..." The string of words would have caused the others to blush if they'd been able to understand them. All they heard was the furious hissing and spitting of an angry cat. Too frustrated to speak human, Blitz had reverted to the feline tongue.
Skelath shook his head. "Language, kitten. And I assure you my mother is nothing of the sort."
He retreated, leaving behind one very confused Gathow. How had the Mageri known what he was saying...? Of course, it might have been dumb luck, but all the same...

A strong gust of wind began to blow towards the mages, forcing Agna to return to her tigress form. Subila wasn't too happy with what was happening, and was more ticked off when Skelath made his series of actions very quickly, grabbing Elycien and retreating in the process.
To elaborate, Subila was ticked off only because she thought they were only delaying their fate's coming. "... You JERK!" she screamed, quickly reforming herself into a spot of shadow and chasing the retreating Mageri.
Left alone, Agna went ahead towards Blitz, who had just swore towards the same Mageri. She gave him a quick, mild pounce that made him face her. "... What the hell were you doing back there?!" she said with an angry tone. "Shame on YOU for not being able to protect your owner or whatever you think of her as!"

Salah stumbled into a wall with the force of the wind. Quickly scrambling back to her feet, she pulled a neat ball of light from the air. Time to see how well intimidation worked on these people. With a smooth, well-practiced motion, Salah formed the light into two small knives that flew right past either side of Skelath's head and seemed to bury themselves in the stone wall before dissolving into the air. Staring the Mageri in where she assumed his eyes were -- Eyecontacteyecontacteyecontact! she told herself frantically -- Salah cleared her throat and spoke. "If you think I have to miss, think again. I control the light, every inch that it moves. Make one wrong move and I can turn all the illumination in the manor against you." She brightened the yellow glow of her eyes for effect, hoping it didn't look as fake as it felt.

The tactic was working. Sending multiple targets to run in various directions distracted the mages enough that the Thirecat could be captured and Skelath freed. Sarien wasn't expecting Skelath to free himself. No matter, the intended result had been acquired, and it wasn't surprising the he had done it, either.
"Please don't try anything foolish. And that includes you," Skelath said to her. "Occupy them, please."
Sarien wasn't sure if she had just been called foolish, thanked, or just simply ordered to continue to occupy the mages. That wasn't important at the moment, she had other things to do.
One of the mages used light magic and threatened her commanding officer. In retaliation, Sarien made a small area of high-pressure air, and sent it flying toward the mage. It clipped past the skin on her face, making a small cut.
"Over here, bright girl."

Salah clapped her hand to her face, biting back all but a gasp. She looked around to see who could have caused it.
"Over here, bright girl."
Salah turned to Sarien, giving her the most level stare she could manage. She bit down hard on the inside her of lip, trying to think of something to say. "A diversion? You really shouldn't have." Okay. Stop there. Don't taunt her, you don't want her to hurt you... Salah shifted her grip on her staff a little bit, holding it ready to block whatever a wooden staff could block, but she turned her head to look for Skelath. Looking at her enemy would do her more harm than good -- movements could be faked, but magical auras and the positions of shadows generally weren't.
EDIT: Sorry, Elycien, I missed that. It's fixed now.

((Salah, Skelath's gone by now. Maybe outside.))
"Owner?" Blitz immediately bristled. "She's nothing of the sort. I owe her nothing."
Yet he did. She had saved him and his sister... he owed her their lives...
Suddenly he stopped, remembering something. Blizzard. Would she be okay back there? And more importantly, had the healing magic taken effect yet...?

Surf leapt up and rode the oncoming gust of wind gently to the wall. Salah, blown back by the gust and flustered, retorted "If you think I have to miss, think again. I control the light, every inch that it moves. Make one wrong move and I can turn all the illumination in the manor against you." No, Salah, bad move, she thought, don't tell then what you can do! When the Mageri attacked Salah, her face lit up. She had an idea.
Surf looked around for a window, but her efforts were in vain. She ran over to Salah, and whispered, barely audible, "if you give me a light source, I can attack the Mageri while they're distracted." Acting as though she had just realized Salah's position was not as strategically safe, she went back to where she had been standing before.

Even as a wave of relief washed over Salamander, she bit her lip in confusion. Give her a light source? There was light everywhere around them; they wouldn't be able to see otherwise. Still, Salah gathered light into large sphere that hovered in the air, dimming the room considerably.

((Surf need sunlight, or something with equivalent intensity, for her blinding light move, which is what she plans to use and I'm assuming that there are no windows here. So, although there are lamps and whatnot, she needs a better source of light than that. Remember, she isn't good enough at light magic yet to make do with the lamps. Or at least that's how I pictured it...))
Surf's eyes lit up as Salah created a ball of light. I hope this'll work a second time... she thought, and thrust her staff in one of the beams of light created by the ball, bent the light, and sent it shooting at each of the Mageri.

As a shadow, Subila focused on following Skelath, trying her best to keep an eye on him. As soon as exhaustion would come in to him, she would quickly retaliate for trying to escape. " I sure hope he never noticed me morph into this" she thought. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Agna turned around to see Surf and Salah trying to attack the Mageri with light magic. " The fools..." she said. " The Mageri would easily deflect that kind of magic... unless..." The tigress tried to catch up with the beam of light, but her speed wasn't fast enough. However, she quickly ran behind it and jumped towards the Mageri for a surprise pounce.

Salah realized what Surf was doing. Oh. Duh. She pulled the light surrounding each of the Mageri and flashed it in their eyes, creating a darkness around them and blinding light in their faces. Good luck fighting through that, she thought, her heartbeat slowing down again. "Thanks," she told Surf.
