((EEK!! *scrabbles about* You guys did quite a lot without me Just pretend I've been here the whole time. Eek again, I didn't realize what a similar name I made up, similar to two names here... change her name to Riani, then... <ree-ahn-ee>)) Riani ducked into the small hut, her wings brushing the doorjam... she was a tad tall for this place. She quickly sat down, busily trying to rearrange her scabbard so she didn't sit on it. 'Thank you for your hospitality,' she said softly. The Tijanese did not give shelter to traveling warriors, believing that true warriors could survive without help. This was new to her.

Ayoshi smiled slightly, noticing Riani slouching to avoid hitting the roof. "There's not to much spare room in here. Maybe the four of us will camp outside. It's a warm night, and I'm sure we'll be pretty safe." The older couple nodded, and led their guests outside to the yard by the lake. "There are spare blankets in the tool shed, should you need them." Then they went back inside.
Ayoshi lay down on the grass and unwrapped the bundled up cloak on her back, laying down the small items she had beside her ((I added her cloak and few items to her profile)) . She draped the cloak around her shoulders, yawned, "night," and closed her eyes.

Lyria fell asleep, but was soon awaken by a noise. She quickly awoke her three friends to investigate.

Riani had been sleeping curled into a ball to avoid fouling her wings. She awoke when Lyria woke her, about the noise. Sitting up, she tuned her Tijan-trained ears to the woods. Sure enough, there was some sort of noise, and it didn't sound like a friendly one. She placed a ready hand on the hilt of her longsword.

Kira opened her eyes and sat up, looking around, expecting for some kind of monster to emerge from the woods.

The monster finally emerged from behind the bushes. It was the same monster that had attacked them in the first place. Lyria ran inside for cover.

"WHY is that monster after us in the first place?" Kira asked, her bow and arrow appearing in her hands. She aimed the arrow, but this time the arrowhead took fire. She fired it, hitting the monster in the chest and causing him to screech with pain.

Ayoshi dodged as the monster swiped at her. "I don't know!" she replied to Kira. "But it can't just be a coincidence!" She drew her dagger and jumped onto the monsters back, attempting to stab it, but it threw her off and she landed on all fours. "Which one of us d'you think it's after?" she shouted. "Come on, let's lure it away from the hut so that Lyria and the couple will be safe!" She slashed at the monsters foot with her dagger. "Come on you big oaf, chase me!" she yelled at it, leaping through the tree branches.

Riani unsheathed her longsword, and with a clap of wings was airborne. She flew over the creature, silently, watching its movements. Usually, the Tijanese were opposed to killing, unless it was for a good reason. Riani considered this to be a good reason, this monster obviously meant them harm and would stop at nothing to deliver it. Swinging her sword, she made to behead the thing. But at the last second, it jumped, so her sword delivered a deep cut to one leg. The creature staggered, but now it was mad. It blundered about, swiping at whatever was nearest.

Ayoshi stopped to crouch lightly on a branch, gently swaying on it. She bit her lip and watched the monster bellow. "This is no ordinary annoying beast..." she said to herself quietly. They had succeeded in drawing it away from the hut, and she watched it now, thinking. What were it's weak spots? What was it? And why on earth was it chasing them? It obviously wasn't after Lyria, since she was back at the hut. So who was it after, and why?

Riani muttered something, and her eyes blazed with a green fire. The same sort of fire wove itself around her hands. Vines raised from the earth, trapping the monster and rooting it to the spot. Riani landed and walked over to it. 'Ok, monster, are you smart enough to talk? Tell us who sent you, and why.'

Ayoshi ran to the monster and stood beside Riani, and examined the vines, looking pretty impressed. Then she looked up at the beast, who roared and stomped, trying to break free. "Bathul-gun," she said quietly. The creature's eyes rested on her and it snarled. Ayoshi turned to the others. "It has the sign of the Bathul-gun on it, a group of dark wizards, located in the southern mountains. Though I don't know why they sent this... has anyone here done something to them that might have upset them enough to send this thing?"

Lyria got a flashback from when she was a child. She saw her father transform into a dark wizard, the creature he really was. As far as she knew, her father had died since then. But had he?

"I haven't." Kira told Ayoshi. "I haven't even heard of that group of wizards before now."

Ayoshi glanced at Lyria, who seemed to be deep in thought. "Well, I might have annoyed them once or twice, but nothing that bad," said Ayoshi. She grabbed one of the vines bounding the monster and pulled hard on it to get his attention, then she demanded, "Tell us why the Bathul-gun sent you!"
