Not to mention the GW2 is a lot more epic to read :3 Harry Potter never had pirates and impending apocalypse. Well, they did, but not with the actual horsemen. ...a sneaky subtle takeover. I have taught this one well :3 Congrats, you have now claimed the rights to be prodded about guildleaderly Brethren Court business any time of the day, night, or space-time-continuum gaps. Well, this still leaves the rest of the gang, and a guild needs a leader, lest they get ruthlessly subdued under a random pirate captain's paw in any given GW. The Knights seem to be fully dead (they have an NPC king, but someone has to play the NPC as well), the Mages have been disorganized and pirateyfied longer than I can remember, the Mercs had a leadership election back on the day that never got anywhere and I barely see active mercs around these days, Vyt seems to be active enough with the Ninjas but hasn't logged in since November so we've no clue how things are with him activity-wise. Toka seems to have the emerging Steampunk thing under control, at least. I'm not saying that we absolutely must hold elections before GW3 (the most influential people generally emerge and change mid-RP anyway), but y'know, it'd be nice if we got it sorted out. We're still talking about a Guilds' War, not War of a Ragtag Bunch of Random Guildspeople. The latest guild RP tried something like that and kinda sorta died. If by "sneaky subtle takeover" you mean "promoted by virtue of being the most unhealthily obsessive 'Fleet member," then sure. I've got a few different ways to contact Vyt offsite, I'll see if I can get any response. No guarantees, though. I was considering making an advertisement thread in Forum Events, see if we can get some participants that way. Good idea? Horrible idea?

I was considering making an advertisement thread in Forum Events, see if we can get some participants that way. Good idea? Horrible idea? Mrm. On one hand, we got nothing to lose with this. On the other hand, the GWs don't look like something that'd work with outside demographics, what with them being huge, convoluted, long-lasting and full of inside jokes. They're noooot exactly inviting for a non-guilder, or a non-roleplayer. I myself only ever joined GW2 out of a sense of obligation, since I was the pirate guild leader. 'course, we all know how that ended up. You never know who might get hooked. But first we'd still need something extra shiny, glittery and chocolate-covered to convince people that a roleplay that's longer than LotR and lasts longer than a pregnancy is just the thing they want to join.

...The mercs still don't have an HQ thread? XD; Well, I guess all our leaders have been sorta inactiveish, but... I guess someone should get to that.
...I could probably throw something together if no one else is going to? I'm not exactly Merc leadership or anything, but...

Man I want to join the Steampunk Guild. .__. If I actually thought I could keep up then I would. RUhteabthboj;nh. You think you have a problem? All of my vague ideas of introductions feature Fred playing a banjo. Yeah. A banjo. If that ain't terrifying I don't know what is. NO! NOT THE BANJO! *scurries up the nearest tree* *brick'd* You haven't really achieved (silly) disturbing until you have a group of Meepits playing Danse Macabre on kazoos, though. (...and now that I've mentioned it, I'm probably going to have to include it somehow.) So... ... I haven't done Guild Wars before. Anything I should know before jumping in? NEW BLOOD! THIS IS MOST EXCELLENT! *brick'd, shuriken'd, cutlass'd, sword'd, fireball'd, cash'd in, laser'd, steampunk'd and probably dead'd* *ahem* Anyway! You don't really need to know anything special to jump in. That said, having knowledge of past GW continuity will be helpful - and might even give you ideas. Fortunately, the original GW and GW2 each have summaries (which border on parody as well). Unfortunately(?), the summaries are kinda long. GW SummaryGW2 SummaryYou can also read the actual RPs if you want (they're in the Memory Lane board), but that'd be REALLY time- and energy-consuming. I live in quiet hope that the Meepit carollers will end up singing some rendition of Danse Macabre. <3 I mean, I have no idea why they would, but ... *crosses fingers hopefully* ... Oh, heh, yeah, I ought to read those. xD I can barely remember what happened. Anyone feel in the mood to obligingly supply a superquick summary of particularly major events? Also! =D I meant to ask. Kwoi, is it okay if Rikku obsesses over Drakhé? Just a teeny bit? ^_^' Only I sort of want her to do this whole power-hungry thing, a bit, and that'd be a convenient excuse. Otherwise I can just make her obsess over what jerks her family are and how it's fated for her to go to the bad and stuff. Fun times.

[glow=red,2,300]Major events of GW1: Don't matter, 'cause that's too far back to matter.
GW2: Shiny Gem of Ultimate Magical Power, made of Souls. Made by demon alchemist, Leraye. Gets broke and lets armies of ancient guildsmen loose on the earth. Leraye and TMC (the fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse) lead the present-day guilds into a trap to cause the apocalypse and then Leraye turns on TMC, turning him into another Gem. Vyt gets rezzed (I missed when he died) and two fo the ancient guild leaders (Rane of the pirates and Kienne of the Knights) got hitched.
Redemption: Cyborg fails at getting back into the pirates. We got our paws on the TMC gem, but then Leraye made another one out of his all-demon rescue team. Time travel was involved. Your brains may go boom. Goosh started imitating Edward Cullen. [/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Vyt gets rezzed (I missed when he died)[/glow] He died at the end of GW1. That's one of the few plot points that carried over from that RP, I think. But yeah, I'd say that's a pretty good gist of it. XD

Heck, I was planning to write a story which, among other things, would address/reveal Drakhé's fate, but it looks like I'll be doing that in GW3 instead. (Although the story's main purpose was to give the Kwoiffei persona a good sendoff, so... yeah.)

Wait. That Redemption thing was a continuation of the previous plotline, rather than something completely unrelated?
... I knew I should have paid attention to that. xD;
Seems like a good, concise post, Fraze. ^_^ Can't think of much to add to it.

I knew I should have paid attention to that. xD; Seems like a good, concise post, Fraze. ^_^ Can't think of much to add to it. Uhhh. Yes, no, and sort of. Redemption followed up with Cyborg trying to rejoin the Pirates. More importantly for GW, it continued the saga of both of the gems. Leraye trapped a demon army (that tried to attack Spacefleet in order to save him) in his first gem, and so the gem regained its power and he got away. TMC's gem was handed over to Hunty, who in turn sent it to Kienne. I'm still not entirely sure what happened with the bike. Unrelated to GW, there was a lot of scrambling around trying to fight off the aforementioned demon army, and ended with what's now the favorite 'ship of half the people who took part in Redemption. Possibly related to GW if I have anything to say about it, a new NPC was introduced: Merpo, an antisocial scientist with a severe stutter and rather...interesting...fashion sense, who is currently running experiments inside the Underdeep, trying to find a way to harness its magical field to use as a power source. *Cough NPCthreadcough* I thiiiiink that covers the main points that concern GW. For more than that, you can always read the RP. Or the summary, but that's unfinished.

I guess I'd have to go to plan B if the Ninjas really needed a leader.
I'm back, guys. A bit less active than before, but still alive and kickin'.
EDIT: I guess I have to explain why I'm inactive first. I've been hanging around other communities as well, and was also trying to cope up with this migration thing. Sorry if I haven't been active for awhile.

Well, I didn't want to leave the mercs all unofficial and all, so I took the liberty of giving the mercs an HQ thread. Hope no one minds. XD;
*should go update and post Jerny's profile*

As far as the Knightly leadership goes, I've been the de-facto deputy leader when Wolf disappears. If it's needed, I can go back to that post. Which means that yes, I'll join in and deal with the fact that it'll overwhelm all my free time. xD ..I might disappear for five days right before Christmas, but I'll do my best to keep up with all the insanity of GW3. I've been wanting to roleplay again, anyway. Most likely I'll just be sticking with the Knights, though, if I need to take both our NPC king and Shade. So.. yeah.
