Classical music sounds a lot like RPG music, so that's not a problem. And I will post all the levels. (None of them should be too much of spoilers, as I won't get into specifics as to what happens there) In that case, I should let you know the music I produce probably won't sound very classical. I'm thinking it'll probably be more like the music in Strife's NTWF game, or possibly techno. On a similar theme, I didn't get much done this week so it may be some time before I get some music done. Well, that's fine too. Techno would work well in Spacefleet locations, and the music like in Jade Phoenix would work well on just some calm path, or maybe NTWF Central or the 'Bloids.

Techno works pretty good in a game as well, I reckon. Especially for boss battles Now this will sound way more Chinese than Japanese for the Ninja guild, but, assuming no one will notice or care... boomp3.com/listen/c1sxq6lax_y/ninja-guild-finishedThe tune just kept getting faster and faster, lol. I was three quarters of the way through when I suddenly stopped and thought, "oh crud, how am I supposed to get from this speed back to the beginning again? *adds showy percussion solo*"

Pacmanite- Actually, most of the RPG boss battles have classical sounding music, not techno. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule. Your Ninja Guild piece was good. Thanks for helping out so much with the music. ^_^

Although, if you've ever played that game, you'd know the music is really hard to classify as "techno" or "not techno" or whatever, because it's sort of a mix.

Well, the main rule in making games and music is that there are no rules. I'm just used to Square-Enix RPGs.

Update: 10/19/08Okay, I've decided to post daily updates on this thread. This will let people know that the project isn't dead, and it will also force me to do something for this daily so I have something to put here. I will also send out mass PMs on very important updates that I need feedback on. So, anyways, here we go. The latest edition of my RPG engine was released about two weeks ago, but I only noticed it recently. This adds support for character portraits. Meaning: When you're talking, your picture is next to your text box. So now everybody gets even more sprites! The portraits are 50x50 pixels, so you could use them as an avatar here if you wanted to. I actually drew little sketches on paper, as it would be hard for me to sprite that from scratch. They don't have faces yet, though, as I can edit those easier on the computer. I'm sorry for the other sprites not updating, I'm having trouble perfecting that walking animation. I'm thinking of taking sprites from Pokemon: Firered and Leafgreen and just doing major edits to those so I can take their walking animations. I also need more people. Remember: You are not limited to your regular persona. I would enter Glitchio and Dr. Lupe if they were more major characters on the NTWF, and I still may include them if I need more NPCs in Spacefleet or the Merc Bunker. Until then, I can only have a vague idea of how the plot will run. As I said in the first post, it is very hard to work on a game without characters. Especially playable characters. I've also compiled a list of the locations appearing in game, for music and NPC placement. - NTWF Central- This is the main area of the game. Most games have it, whether it's Traverse Town in Kingdom Hearts, Toad Town in Paper Mario, or something else in some other game, this is where you come back to often. NTWF Central is a mix of Forum Events, Off Topic, Positive Spin, Banter Board, Splatterboard... basically the main area where anyone can chat about anything. The buildings included are:
- Diary Library- The Diary Library is full of Scrapbooks, a locked room with the Time Capsules, Dramatis Personae profiles, and, of course, the diaries. In the game, there's Spacefleet technology that allows you to update your diary that you carry with you, and it is also updated in the library. Pretty nifty. That's mostly so I can allow for a Kingdom Hearts-esc Journal feature. The boards included here should be self-explanatory.
- Official NTWF Shop- With permission from Leoness, the shop in NTWF Central is none other than the Official NTWF Shop! Selling common items like Brain Bleach and Cookies, and also selling more specialized items like NTWF toques, gloves, and scarves, this is the perfect place to stock up before going on an adventure.
- Times Lobby- Now, while I can't refer to it as the Neopian Times without getting Lawyerbot'd, I can call it the Times, which fits the name of this area perfectly. It includes (hopefully, I need to ask permission) Patjade and Droplet's desk (representing NT Staff Call and Issues and Inquiries), a 'Times Times' Stand (Which would usually include Previews and Reviews, but because of the spammer invasion, nobody is writing for that, just current NTWF news) and a few people wandering around or reading the Times or Times Times.
- Forum Gates- A very small area, but an important one. It literally just consists of a small area outside the gates of the forum, and the friendly Sign-Up Bot. There's really no reason (and probably going to be no way) to return to the gates later, but it starts your adventure.
- Writer's Workshop- Despite the name, it really includes everything under The Editor's Mark, plus Collaborations. It's basically a building with some comfy bean bags and some books. There are also little presentation rooms, and I'm thinking of a way to include the Bank Bank in here.
- Art Studio- Includes The Art Studio, Art 101, and Request and Trades. I guess it could include a bit of the other Artist's Alley boards. Very similar to the Writer's Workshop above, but with paintings on the walls and sculptures scattered around.
- Adoptable Adoption Agency- A whole building for adoptables. Forumers run their stands, offering a choice between some variations of their adoptables. You choose one, you can summon it. You may need to complete a quest to earn a certain adoptable.
- Club Zone- It's a little area with clubhouses in it.
- The Various Club Buildings- These will probably all have the same music, for simplicities sake. The clubs on the forum are pretty much all of copyrighted things, so I'll have to think of imaginary clubs to put in here.
- Guild HQ- But Guilds aren't clubs! I know. Each Guild even has it's own location. BUT, I needed somewhere to put the HQ. It's a MASSIVE building in Club Zone, at the very back. This is where you sign up for a Guild, and the paths to Dunburrow, the Merc Bunker, and the Ninja Dojo are here, along with the teleporters to the Moon and Mage Manor, and a path to the docks where you can get on the
White Weewoo pirate ship. *shiftyeyes*
- Tabloid Town- I couldn't exclude Tabloid Town, now could I? I haven't really thought of locations inside the 'Bloids yet, though...
- Mage Manor- The home of the mages. I won't post the rooms of the manor yet, as I have to ask for permission on a lot of them.
- Pirate Ship- Not the White Weewoo, sorry. Big Lawyerbot is always watching. See Mage Manor for why I'm not posting individual parts.
- Ninja Dojo- Home of the ninjas. See Mage Manor for why I'm not posting individual parts.
- Castle Kestrel- Sorry, I can't include all of Dunburrow as that would be the largest map in the game, and wouldn't be fair to other guilds. As it is, Kestrel is probably one of the larger areas. See Mage Manor for why I'm not posting individual parts.
- NTWF's Moon- Home of the Spacefleet base. See Mage Manor for why I'm not posting individual parts.
- Merc Bunker- The home of the Mercernaries. See Mage Manor for why I'm not posting individual parts.
- Final Boss Dungeon- No, that isn't the name of the area. I'll post a more detailed description later, but it's an expansive area, if all goes right, the largest in the game, including the different parts to it.
Done.

I have a couple Alternates I can contribute if you need more NPCs. :3 Not sure if they count as major NTWF characters, though. Name: Cheryl Where Your Character Would Usually Be Found: Tabloid Town would be my best guess. Description of Personality: Very innocent and naive. Pretty much the kind of personality you'd expect from a little kid, really. Picture or Description: Cheryl's Persona PicOther: Cheryl is also Vyt's character, so you might want to ask him before using her, though I'm pretty sure he wouldn't object. (Correct me if I'm wrong, Vytvyt. ^_^ And again, I don't know if Cheryl really counts as a major NTWF character, seeing as she hasn't really done much of anything outside of the 'bloids, and even then it's not much. Name: Jernath Where Your Character Would Usually Be Found: Merc HQ. Description of Personality: Serious, and even a bit stubborn. Tends to jump to conclusions, which has gotten him in trouble multiple times. Oh, and this is likely a useless detail for your RPG, but he hates being 'shipped or otherwise teased. :3 *stab'd* Picture or Description: The pic I did for Jerny's first birthday, which is a little better than the Persona Pic, actually.Other: Jernath is an archer with accurate aim, but also has a couple daggers he uses for close combat. More likely to be a major NTWF character than Cheryl, what with his involvement in GW2 and a couple of 'bloid events. (Oh, and don't call him Jerny, despite the fact that I just did. He doesn't like that name. :3) Aanndd you probably wouldn't want to use Kindleflare, seeing as she's generally considered evil, what with The Disappearance and all.

PFA- Just out of curiosity, because the Merc guild isn't that active, do you think I'd be able to consider Jernath as the Merc playable character?

Alright, although I would highly recommend Jernath for the main Merc position, here is an NPC form for my Merc character, Clint. Name: Clint Thunder Where Your Character Would Usually Be Found: Merc Guild, Guilds Board. Description of Personality: Slightly sarcastic and not too personable. Apt to give unusual nicknames(a trait that Midknight turned against him. ) Picture or Description: Sandy brown matching fedora and trench coat. Other: Epic Shooter, Please Do Not Touch

Update: 10/22/08
Okay, there won't be updates for Mondays or Tuesdays. Due to scheduling that will be impossible.
Two new specific NPCs have been added. Grab 'em quick, before they're taken.
I wish I had more to say here. Blame homework.
