...Ironically enough, I only got FFVII because my dad picked up a used copy of the first disc at the second-hand store (for some reason I'm still not sure of... we weren't into FF at all back then). It was fairly cheap, too, if I remember. XDDD;; When my sis started playing it out of curiosity, we fell in <3 and had to get the rest... which we found all three discs, used, at the game store. For the regular used game price, I think, which is $20 or so. Maybe people around here don't appreciate the awesomeness that is FFVII as much as some people apparently do? I mean, seriously, I've seen used copies being sold more than once, at the regular used game price.

I can't even find a copy of the game in stores anymore - that's why I was looking online. Maybe people where you live have more things to do than the people here.

My brother found his copy of FF7 in Half-Price Books(giant chain store of resold books, movies, games, and some other media). Until recently, I never knew just how lucky he was to find and buy it before anyone else. Heh, down here you can't even find ANY PS1 titles unless you go to Half-Price Books. GameStop sold PS1 games until the PS3 came out, then ditched them because of their "more than obsolete" status. I went to look it up online, to purchase one, and people are asking $70+ for a used copy! New video games are only $60! And those are the highly rated games too. Yeah, but this is FF7 we're talking about, not just another one of those new-fangled games with a measly little "high" rating.

Luckily, they're still selling PS1 games. Oh, my. How could I think that a really great new game should cost more than a game 11 years old? Silly me.

Yep, that certainly seems to be an issue for a lot of us. I have one, but the second disc is defective. I went to look it up online, to purchase one, and people are asking $70+ for a used copy! New video games are only $60! And those are the highly rated games too. >.> I'm glad I got one when I did. (I managed to borrow a copy of the second disc from someone else.) .... so if you bought it, and played it, it would still be used, and you could sell it again for $70 lol

Oh, my. How could I think that a really great new game should cost more than a game 11 years old? Silly me. Supply and demand. Anyone can buy a really great new game - if the store runs out, they'll just buy more. But there's no new copies of FFVII being sold, so you have to buy it from the scalpers. ...of course, the fact that there's multiple millions of copies out there and there are still supply issues is kind of silly. Probably partly the fault of the Compilation bringing new people in. Since this is a FFFanclub, some of you might find this fun: concept art from all of the FF games. ^_^ It's interesting to see how the oldschool sprite game characters look drawn by an artist. =3 Also... interesting to see when designs are reused. Like the FF Behemoth design, which looks very similar to its design in the FFVII compilation.

<3! *spazzes over the FF2 concept art* It's like the pictures they had in the GBA manual, but bigger! Yayness! ...Wow, I need to play that game again someday. XD; Though my old save got delete'd and now I have to start over again. I think I was stuck anyway, though.

I heard the other day that FF is no longer a Sony exclusive series(if you count the GBA versions of the first six or the MMORPG XI, it's already not, but if you're talking strictly console titles...). The next FF game(what is it, XIII?) will also be on Wii.

Final Fantasy was Nintendo exclusive before Playstation, and since going to Sony it's released games all over the place- Gamecube, Wii, DS, Xbox 360 and PC being the main ones. However Final Fantasy XIII was meant to be exclusive to PS3, and is now to be released on Xbox 360 as well, not Wii.
Since I'm posting here, most of the talk on this board seems to be FFVII, VIII and X- who's played XII, my favourite of the series? Anyone excited for FFIV DS? What about XI, anyone tried that out? What about Final Fantasy Tactics games (Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: Grimoire Of The Rift has consumed my soul at the moment)?

Knowing my memory, the Wii/360 mixup doesn't surprise me.
The other mixup does surprise me a little bit, though. Famicom/NES, GBA/DS(I generally count those as the same. Like original GB/GBP/GBC) I knew about, and if you count XI(It's a stinkin' MMO! zero points from me!), then PC, but I have been blissfully unaware of any FF games for GC, Wii, or X360.

Gamecube had Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, which I tried and wasn't impressed with... umm... :3 Xbox 360 has its own version of XI, and Wii is getting new Crystal Chronicles I think- two, in fact, with the WiiWare one coming.

Does FFXI work on Macs? >_>; 'Cause I had the impression it was Windows only, but I dunno.
On the topic of lesser-played FF games, how many of you have played IX? I haven't ever really seen much of a fanbase behind it, but maybe I just haven't looked hard enough. XD; But yeah. The card game is evil. Especially when you're like me and you never play it, and then all of the sudden they force you into it.
