Wow! It looks absolutely amazing. And don't worry, all your hard work definitely won't be for nothing.

Oh wow Pacmanite, that is simple awesome! I feel proud to even have a tiny bit of text on such a thing Great job!! Can't wait to see the finished petpage with all the text, etc! Thanks, Chocolate ^^ And thanks again for letting me use your writing Well, it's finished... www.neopets.com/~snicker_weaselBut now I realise something. Poor ol' Ticktock hasn't logged on the NTWF since May. D: And her lookup says she hasn't been on neo for about the same amount of time. I should have checked before I started doing all the coding... D: Now I don't know if she'll ever come back here again. I just finished the longest layout project I've ever undertaken since I last coded H33lix's petpage (and even that was relatively simple, didn't have any tricky, diagonal-lined loop backgrounds or hovering div links). Will it all count for nothing now? D: I noticed she was gone too...but I hardly think the work will be wasted. If it comes down to it, maybe somebody else can host and update the page, making sure to give credit idea to ticktock. It's a beautiful page, by the way...I like the colors ^^ And the unrolling newspaper link... Oh, I agree, Verdana would be nice. It's definitly the best of the standard fonts =)

:3 That's true. If ticktock doesn't show up for a while (say, maybe to late July?), someone else can volunteer a petpage. I'm not using mine, or maybe somebody else would like to use it. We certainly won't let that beautiful page go to waste.

Whaaaat?! You must be crazy for sure Pacmanite *takes temperature and puts on ice* This isn't going to be wasted FOR SURE! A lot of people can read it, even she hasn't be on long! *eats ice* Hmm, crunchy Thanks, Christos, it really made me feel better ^^ Wow! It looks absolutely amazing. And don't worry, all your hard work definitely won't be for nothing. Thank you =D Great to know that the page will still be supported regardless of whether Ticktock comes back or not. I noticed she was gone too...but I hardly think the work will be wasted. If it comes down to it, maybe somebody else can host and update the page, making sure to give credit idea to ticktock. It's a beautiful page, by the way...I like the colors ^^ And the unrolling newspaper link... Oh, I agree, Verdana would be nice. It's definitly the best of the standard fonts =) Yeah, I was thinking about that. If Ticktock doesn't come back, someone will have to step up and host the page, 'cause I don't think I can handle it, on top of my comic guide petpage, and I'm not online enough to tend to it very often. :3 That's true. If ticktock doesn't show up for a while (say, maybe to late July?), someone else can volunteer a petpage. I'm not using mine, or maybe somebody else would like to use it. We certainly won't let that beautiful page go to waste. So the deadline could be a month from now? Sounds cool. So it sounds like this page is likely to change hands... that will bring along its own issues. Like, could/should the new owner inherit all the text that Ticktock wrote, or would they have to write it all out again? I think the letter to the readers and the letter to the writers and artists can be quoted safely and credited to Ticktock, but most of the other writing would have to be redone. It's not so much an issue of intentional plagiarism or theft; it's just that if Ticktock's poofed, there's no way we can ask permission for her work, and that can get a bit complicated with TNT's monitors. On a different note, if it does indeed change hands, there's a possibility we can host the page with a purpose-named pet. Lessee, "NTReaders" hasn't yet been taken as a pet name, though "NTRA" has. And if Ticktock does come back later, after we've gone through the changeover, we could transfer the pet back to her account, and the (then undoubtedly large amount of) supporters will not need to change the links on their banners. So I guess now all we need to do is wait for a bit, and see if Ticktock comes back on in the next month. It could be just that she's on a long holiday and doesn't have internet access, who knows. But still, it might be helpful if someone who thinks they can host the page will step up, and maybe even shotgun that petname "NTReaders" or a similar one, just in case in the next month the name gets taken by a third party.

*raises hand* I wouldn't like to actually inherit the site, but if we're worried about NTReaders (which I think would be a great hostname!) being snapped up by a third party, as Pacmanite said, I'd be happy to create him/her now on a side account and transfer him/her over to Ticktock/new owner when the time comes. I have plenty of space, so it would be no problem. I'd like to see NTRA finished and in good hands. ^^
What do people think? And are they any other available names that would be appropriate?

I think that'd be great, Weaponstar! NTReaders sounds fine to me, but if anyone else has suggestions....?
As for what to write...it may be a better idea to go with the general idea of ticktock's, rather than just copy what she wrote. I agree that some parts of it can be credited without much trouble...but taking the entire page might be a bit of an issue.
And of course, when/if Ticktock returns, she can put her own stuff back on the page. It's all still up on the original petpage...

Looks cool, guys! Good luck with it - I'd help if I could, but my time is constrained as it is. Either way, if there is a way I can help, PM me!

Edit: (changed the link, cause the pound wiped the other pet's page clean) www.neopets.com/~snicker_weasel*feeling hyper* IT WORKS! IT RLLY WORKS!! It loops too And the link to the NT works like a charm. *feeling strangely elated* All right, I'm never doing diagonal-line repeating backgrounds again as long as a live The layout's still not *quite* done yet... I need to add some sort of navigation and change the un-pwnful default Times New Roman font to pwnful verdana (or any other suggestions? I like verdana), and work a little on the section titles, but for now, the biggest bit of the coding's done Here's the code so far: <BODY bgcolor="#441A15"> <body background="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v702/eyesandearsmouthandnose/NTRAFINALLOOPINGFINAL.jpg">

#Newspaper { position: absolute; top: 174; left: 407; }
#Newspaper a { display: block; width:151px; height:183px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; background-image: URL(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v702/eyesandearsmouthandnose/NTRAFINALwithpaperunfurled0.jpg); text-decoration: none; }
#Newspaper a:link, #ListCont a:active, #ListCont a:visited { background-image: url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v702/eyesandearsmouthandnose/NTRAFINALwithpaperunfurled0.jpg); }

I know this is kind of late, but what a BEAUTIFUL petpage! Wow! I'm so impressed! I love it. I'll definitely add some sort of link to it on my lookup next time I update it!

Okay, I've gone ahead and created NTReaders now. She's on my side, Starmilit. Thread seemed a bit dead, and I figured by the time I waited for other name suggestions it would be redundant. Whatever happens, it's no problem if people decide not to use NTReaders after all. Sorry I haven't been on here for a while, schoolwork was getting hectic etc. :) Thanks for stepping up and hosting the page, and feel free to put my layout on that page whenever you want. But much of the content will need to be redone... You can paste it from here:
Btw, you can change the order of the sections if you want, too. Or create new sections, if you want. Personally, I think it should go "introduction - ways to help - highlights - letters - buttons - contributors - affiliates (including the ntaa)". I'm more used to having the link-back buttons at the bottom of any page. Also, the letters to the readers and artists/writers should probably do better in just one section, titled "letters of support" or something similar. And if you need any help working out how to code a new section title, just ask. :) Now, if there're any of you guys willing to help but not knowing what to do, well, here's what you can do: - Write a letter of encouragement and support for the NT. It'd be a great help, even if it's only a paragraph. And they can appear alongside the two that Ticktock wrote ;)
- Buttons. Make buttons. But I must warn you, if it's wider than about 310 pixels, it'll probably stretch my layout. And I can't have that, can I? xD
- Paste these buttons everywhere! Broadcast it to the world.
- If you're an artist, and feeling random, you could do a sketch to show your support :P Maybe that should go in another section... fanart?
- The highlights section will need some more suggestions. If ever you come across a really good article, comic, story etc., go ahead and post it.
- Finally, just hanging around this thread and posting your suggestions/crits about how the page is coming along is also really helpful =D

Excellent! So we didn't need to worry after all. Hope this wasn't too awkward, lol, but it is great to have you back. You could try adopting NTReaders as the page host so the petpage has that name, or you could just keep on with your current pet's name, doesn't matter too much. I know neo can get really stressful and real life must always take priority, so I won't blame you for wanting to take a break, but if you ever need to do that again in the future, yeah, it would be nice to have some warning

I almost forgot to mention, but, when I went to put a badge on my userlookup, I realized that the badges all still link to snicker_weasel's petpage, instead of Zaff's. It would probably help for the badges to link to the right page =)
