Oh, if you need any more elaborate insults for Luke, may I suggest one? "You truth-slanting, trust-wrecking waste of gravity" is my favorite. ^_^

This is the entire chapter. XD It's only two pages. Nothing invaded her sleep that night. No guilty dreams, no accountable nightmares, nothing. Only blackness and the peacefulness of slumber. And when she opened her eyes to the world the next morning, she smiled. She smiled that everything was getting better, despite Bag’s disappearance. She smiled that she had no more guilt for dreaming about Luke. She smiled that she still had him, and he wasn’t mad at her. She smiled at everything she could think of. And when she turned over, dropping her gaze from the ceiling, her grin almost turned into tears of joy. For once, a promise had been kept. Luke was still at her side, sleeping serenely and breathing quietly with his arms still wrapped around Sammy’s body. “Good morning,” Sammy whispered. But Luke’s eyes fluttered until they were opened fully, staring straight at Sammy. “Good morning to you, too,” he muttered. The tone of his voice taught that he was still slightly asleep. He shifted his body so that he was sitting upright, but his arms were still tangled about Sammy’s waist. “Did you sleep well?” he asked. “Quite,” Sammy replied. “What about you?” “The best I’ve slept in a few years,” he laughed. “Really? Why so?” “Because I had you sleeping with me.” Sammy’s grin widened a tad and she kissed him on the lips. A quick one, but every kiss she gave him was passionate. When she drew her head back, she looked at his topless body; the other half was neatly concealed underneath the blankets. Sammy made a face. “Luke, dear… When did you get so muscular?” Luke’s face went red. “Oh… Right, that… Uhm, well… In my absence, I was put through a lot of training. Two years or so of that… Well, yeah.” “Training? Why?” Luke sighed. “I was put to capture the True Ones, at any cost. That meant that I had to be in tip-top shape if y—I mean, if they tried to run or fight back.” “True Ones?” “There’s a lot I need to tell you, Sammy, and it’s best if I start from the beginning.” Sammy nodded. “I’m interested in hearing. But…start from the night you left me.” Luke opened his mouth to speak, ready to tell everything, when Sammy clutched her stomach and made a face. “Oh God, hold that thought,” she gasped. Sammy tore the stained bed sheets off of her body and ran for the bathroom in the hallway. Luke waited a few minutes before Sammy re-emerged from the bathroom, standing in the bedroom doorway with a robe wrapped around her body. Her eyes were wide and her face was a pale. “Luke,” she said with her voice raspy, “you took a Protection Potion before last night…right?” Sammy watched as his face mirrored hers; wide eyes and a pale face. “****…” he muttered. “You…didn’t?” “No. I totally forgot.” Sammy clutched her head. “Oh, **** it all!” she yelled. “I’m going to need to go check…” She disappeared back into the bathroom for even more minutes. When she returned with a pregnancy test in her hands, her face was almost white. “Luke… It’s blue…” Luke shot upwards. “What?!” she yelled. “You’re pregnant?!” Sammy collapsed into a sitting position in the doorway, tears streaming down her face. “Oh no, Ery was right…” “Right about what?” “He said the other day… He had heard that magical beings could only get pregnant with other magical beings…” “Isn’t this Bag guy a magical being?” “No, he isn’t. He’s a normal human. I don’t understand why I’m magical, though. Rider and Xiv and Hu and Crystal and Dan and Thundy, they’re all normal human beings. I’m the only magical one out of my entire family.” “Sammy, calm down… Everything’s going to be okay…” “No, it’s not!” she screamed. “You don’t want kids, and yet I’m pregnant with your child. Bag wants kids, but he’s disappeared. So what happens when he comes back and finds out I’m pregnant with your child?!” She sobbed even harder. Luke grabbed his boxer shorts and put them on before running over to Sammy and sitting next to her. “Sammy, I need to tell you something,” he said. “I never wanted children before because I wanted to rule the world. I didn’t want a child whose father was bent on being a dictator. Sure, I wanted a child… I wanted to raise a family so badly. But I would have been a horrible father, and I didn’t want to be that. So I made up the excuse of never wanting children. “But when I was taken away from you, I realized something. My want for taking over the world was long gone. Gone since I fell in love with you. But because that’s who I was in everyone’s eyes, that’s what I thought I was, too. So when I was in the company of people who didn’t know my past, I realized that I wanted you more than the world. Do you understand?” “Sort of,” Sammy muttered, her tears stopped. “So… You want kids now?” “Yes. I do.” Sammy smiled. “Helena?” “Helena.”

Rider's explanation as to how magic works. The three were silent for some time. Sammy was the first to break the elongated stillness, her attention turned to Rider. “How come I’m the only magical one in the family?” Rider made a face. “What you mean?” “Think about it, mom. You’re a human…. Thundy’s a human… Crystal, Hu, Xiv, and Dan are all humans –” “Barely,” Rider muttered underneath her breath. “But go ahead.” “No, what I mean is that you’re all normal. You don’t have any magical qualities. You’re not a magical being. You’re human. I’m…not. I’m a sorceress? But why? How does that even work?” Rider rocked her head back and forth, almost like a nod. “Sammich… I know what you mean. You’re thinking being magical is genetic… It’s not. I hate to say this, but you’re kind of like a mutant.” “What?” Sammy said. “Mutant? But…how? Why?” Rider smiled slightly. “You know, you sound a lot like me, when the doctor told me that you weren’t human. I remember it exactly; he said to me, ‘Your daughter, Sammy, she’s… Not normal. We examined her, and it turns out her genes are mutated.’ I thought it was something extremely bad, so I started panicking. He said, ‘No, Mrs. von Zeppelin. It’s nothing to panic over; I’m sorry if I scared you with the way I worded it. Your daughter is a magical being.’” “So… It doesn’t have to do with genetics?” “No, not at all,” Rider said with a reassuring smile. “Did the doctor tell you exactly how being magical works?” Sammy asked. Rider shook her head. “No, he didn’t. But I researched it on my own, especially when your powers began developing. I had to figure out some way to prevent you from burning down the house!” Rider laughed quickly, but continued her story. “You see, Sammy, there’s something in your DNA that’s been screwed up. A genome, I think they’re called, got mixed up, and that’s how your DNA got written. With the mistake. But not just any mistake; the normal genome-thing got replaced with one that’s more rare. Now, you know about your cells, right? And how they make proteins and such?” Sammy nodded. “Yeah, ribosomes make the protein.” “Well, the mistake that was written in the DNA told the ribosomes to make something other than protein.” “What?” “A magical energy.” “And…that’s what comes out of me?” Sammy asked in wonder. She looked at her fingertips. “In a way, yes,” Rider said with a nod. “When the protein leaves your cell and goes into the blood stream, the magical energy goes along with it. And when the blood mixes with the energy, it turns into a more…tangible form.” “But…how is the magic able to pass through my skin?” “It’s just how it is. It’s a supernatural energy. The magic is probably only thing that can pass through the skin without damaging the skin.” “But how does it work? I just think and it happens?” “If that’s how you do it, then that’s how it works.” “Oh… Well, yeah, that’s how I do it. Focus all my energy on a target, and then release it all.” “Well, there’s your answer!” Luke, who was silent through the entire speech, finally started laughing. Sammy shot him a confused look. “What’s so funny?” “Rider,” he said through chuckles, “I never knew you were so smart!” “Hey, now, I’m not an idiot.” “It’s just more fun to act like one,” Sammy finished for her, breaking into laughter. “Exactly!” Rider cried, joining in with the amusement. And, just for comic relief.... “So, what’s there to do today?” Luke yawned. He let go of Sammy for just a second to stretch his legs and arms. Rider shrugged. “Anything you want, really,” she replied. Luke thought for a moment. Suddenly, a smirked emerged on his face. “Hey, I’ve got an idea,” he said.
Kat’s jaw dropped. “You’re still alive?!” she cried. “Nice to see you, too,” Luke replied, rolling his eyes. Sammy, Ery, and Rider were in fits of laughter at Kat’s reaction. The five of them were in the Catacombs.

Wow, you put a lot of thought into this! 8D Thanks. ^__^ It was actually really easy. But that's because we just covered the organelles in a cell and the jobs of the organelles in Bio, like, the other day. XD So it was still fresh in my mind. Yeah, so there's going to be another Luke/Sammy scene later on, and someone gets to walk in on them. XD
