RAWR. You want excerpts? Fine, you've got them! XP This'uns the Drunken Pirate Rider conversation. “darn kids!” Sammy heard a familiar voice yell, yet there was a hint of playfulness in the voice. “Always makin’ ou’ on yer couch whenever come over.” “Mom!” Sammy cried after it dawned on her who the owner of the voice was. Sammy leaped up off the couch and ran over to her mother. Both embraced in an affection hug, as if they hadn’t seen each other in years. After a few moments of family bonding, Sammy stepped back and took a good look at her mother. If you were to ask a total stranger what they thought of Rider, it probably would never cross their mind that she was the mother of five children. They might guess, however, that she became a mother at a young age. Sammy felt ultimate remorse for her mother; Rider went through so many traumatic love issues, and yet she was still able to hold herself together and make it through her all her problems. Sammy also found it funny that Rider could go ahead and get herself a new husband. “Where’s Shino?” Sammy asked, referring to her new step-father. Rider shrugged. “I gah no clue. He wasn’ ‘round when I gah up dis mornin’, but he lef’ da rum ou’... “ Sammy stared at Rider. “Mom, how much did you drink this morning?” Rider laughed and put her hand on her daughter’s shoulder. “Ha! Sammich, don’ worry. I only ha’ a few cups… Yeeeeah, don’ worry…” “Mom, you’re drunk,” Sammy said, almost monotone. She wasn’t surprised at all that Rider was drunk; they were both pirates, and Rider was the Cap’n of the White Weewoo. It was a given that she was constantly drunk. “Did you come here by yourself?” “Ya’ think?” Rider snapped, but then burst into a fit of giggles. “An’ I’m nah stupid. O’ course I brah someone alon’.” She turned around and yelled outside; Sammy wondered if Rider was calling to her imaginary friend. “Hey! You! Yeahhhh, you! Git in ‘ere!” Sammy’s eyes lit up as her friend Ery walked into sight, but darkened when she noticed that he did not look happy at all. “Are you okay?” Sammy asked. Ery at first said nothing. Instead, he walked past Rider and Sammy and collapsed himself on the couch next to Bag. When he spoke, his voice was tired and raspy. “She woke me up this morning – banged on my friggin’ door until I came outside, and dragged me here just because she was drunk.” “Well, at least she does what she’s supposed to,” Bag added. Sammy shrugged. “Whatever,” Ery replied. “Good night.” He pulled one of the pillows over his eyes and tried to go back to sleep. Sammy giggled and walked over to the stove. She didn’t feel like doing anything manually today, so she pointed her finger at one of the elements. Her finger began to glow, and a jet of fire zapped out of the tip. The element caught on fire, and Sammy smiled. “Nothing like magic,” she murmured. She turned to her mom. “I’m going to make you some tea, okay?” “Tea?!” Rider roared. “I dun nee’ no tea! Brin’ on da rum!” She began flailing her arms in the air, and Ery started groaning. Sammy shushed her mother. “I’m making you some tea, Rider, whether you like it or not. You’re drunk, and we don’t need you drunk for the rest of the day. I’m making you tea. Get it?” “Gah it,” Rider said. “Good.” And with that, Sammy began rummaging through the cupboard for a kettle. Rawr Proboards does not like how I put my paragraphs. Okay pre-part to Kat vs. Hunty. She was proud to have her mom be a Mod. The rank of Mod and Admen on a Foruym meant that they had higher power, but more responsibilities. But it always made Sammy laugh whenever her mom used her magical Mod power to make Stal walk into a wall. Then again, it made everyone laugh. The two neared the Main Square when they saw their friend, Goosh, walking into his house. “Hey, Goosh!” Rider called. He turned around and waved at them. “Where you going? It’s a bright and beautiful day!” “Eh,” Goosh said in return, “I don’t want to get caught up in the mess going on.” “What’s the matter?” Sammy asked. They walked over to him so they didn’t have to yell across the street to him. “Kat and Hunty got into an argument,” Goosh said with a sigh. “Saddening, it is, because it’s about something as stupid as Kat’s publication into the Times.” “What happened?” “Well, Kat was bragging that she got into the Times – again. Hunty wasn’t so happy about it, so now they’re yelling at each other about their trophies.” Goosh sighed again. “Why do you females have to be such an overdramatic species?” Rider stuck her tongue out at their friend. “You’re hilarious,” she muttered. “But we’ll see you later.” Goosh said goodbye and walked into his house, leaving Rider with Sammy. Rider thought for a moment. “It doesn’t seem like Kat to get so hotheaded about something as little as the Times… Maybe Hunty, but not Kat…” “We should check it out,” Sammy declared. Rider nodded, and the two started to head back to the Main Square. Suddenly, though, a scream pierced their ears. “Oh God, what was that?” Rider said, her eyes darting frantically. “It sounded like… Like…” Sammy had to think for a moment to recall whose voice the scream belonged to. “Oh God, its Ginz!” “Ginz?!” Rider cried. “But we saw her earlier; she was going no where near Downtown!” “She must’ve walked around,” Sammy said. “Come on, we’ve got to go. She might be in trouble!" And now the moment ya'll have been waiting for... KAT VERSUS HUNTY! “Just call this off now,” Kat was saying, “and I won’t have to kick your butt! Just admit this is all your fault and you’re just jealous that I’m a better writer than you, and I’ll spare you.” “Never!” Hunty yelled. “I’ll never say so! Because, guess what? It’s not true! I’m a thousand times a better writer than you, and same with a fighter. Oh, and guess what again? You messed with the wrong girl, Katty. Now, bring it on, you arrogant wannabe!” Kat growled and shot a beam of her magic at Hunty. Sammy almost did cry; this was not like Kat at all. “Kat!” Sammy yelled to her ex-cousin-in-law, but she did not listen, and neither did Hunty when Rider called to her. They were both blinded with rage. Hunty dodged Kat’s magic and sent her Meepits to attack. The little blue monsters ran towards Hunty’s opponent at a high speed, nearly getting her, but Kat was too quick. She jumped up and over the Meepits and, while still in the air, shot two magical rays; one towards the Meepits to freeze them, and one at Hunty to harm her. The attack hit the Meepits, but not Hunty. But Hunty was not happy at all at Kat’s freezing spell. “You unfreeze my Meepits right now, Kat! That’s cheating!” “There are no rules, Hunty. At least, not anymore.” Sammy Cysso encounters The Shadow for the first time... (warning, kind of long) “We’re all going to die!” Rider shrieked as the Oblivion spell neared closer and closer at a high speed. She collapsed to her knees next to Sammy and cowered in fear. Sammy threw her arms around Rider, sobbing along with her. The two waited for their end to come. But, there was nothing. Sammy opened her eyes and looked ahead of her. The Oblivion spell had stopped mid air, only a few feet from her. It was just frozen. Sammy raised her eyebrows. “Rider, do you see this?” she said to her mother. There was no answer. Sammy looked down and saw that her mother was, too, frozen in place. “What the hell…?” she muttered. Finally she looked at Hunty; frozen. Kat; frozen. The Meepits; frozen. Arrows; frozen in mid-air. No movement at all. Sammy rose to her feet, leaving the statue-like Rider alone on the ground. “Hello?” Sammy called out to the air. Even though no one was visible, she could feel the presence of someone around her. “Is anyone out there? And why is everything stopped?” “Good morning, Miss Sammy Cysso,” she heard a voice called. A chill went up her spine and her feet spun around, making her come face to face with the owner of the voice. Sammy shrieked. “Now, now, Miss Cysso. There’s no cause for alarm.” “Who the hell are you?!” Sammy demanded, taking a good look at the figure before her. The mysterious person was wearing a night-like, black cloak; one like a sorcerer’s, and the hood of the cloak was pulled up and over the figure’s eyes. Sammy noticed that the person’s nose and mouth was showing, which revealed a tanned skin tone. Sammy guessed that the figure was male by the tone of the voice, and the fact that she saw no breasts sticking out of the chest-area of the cloak. “You can call me The Shadow,” the figure said. “Alright, Mr. Shadow,” Sammy muttered. “That answers that question. But I’ve got another one; why are you here? Oh, and another… Why is everything stopped?” “Both questions are somewhat the same,” The Shadow answered. His lips were the only movement out of his entirety. “I’ve saved your life, Miss Cysso. You should be grateful. If it wasn’t for me, you and your mother would have been a smoldering pile of ashes right now while your friends, Kalianne and Huntress would be still battling until their ends.” Sammy was stunned. She finally mustered enough movement to answer another question, “Why?” “Why, what?” “Why would you save me?” Sammy asked. “I don’t even know who you are. I’ve never seen you at all in my life.” “Au contraire, dear Samantha,” The Shadow replied with a slight chuckle. “We’ve been acquainted before. You just probably don’t remember.” “Reveal your true form to me,” Sammy demanded. The demand seemed to come out of no where. The Shadow paused. “I am unable to do that, Miss Cysso. At least, for now.” “What’s the problem? Too much of a chicken?” “Negative. I’m just waiting for the right moment.” “You’re really weird,” Sammy said. “But, seriously, why would you save me?” “You owe me something, Samantha,” The Shadow replied, still indifferent and unmoved. “And I would like to have to back. But of course, I can’t have it if you’re dead, now can I?” He finally let out another slight chuckle, but nothing more. Sammy stared The Shadow down. “What exactly is this that I owe you…?” The Shadow waited a minute or two to answer. Finally, his lips curled into a fine smile, and he uttered the words, “Your love.” And Sammy nearly gagged at those words. “Me? You? I mean, my love? Why do you want that?” Sammy held her head tightly. “Ohhhh, I’ve got such a headache…” She looked back up at The Shadow. “You’re really confusing, you know that, right?” The Shadow gave no emotion change. “Maybe we can talk this over another time, Miss Cysso. Maybe you’ll understand better when you know me in my true form.” “Wait, what?” Sammy said. “Can I just know who you are?” “No, Miss Cysso. Not yet.” “Why the hell not?” “Haven’t we already gone over this?” Sammy sighed bitterly. “Fine, so you won’t let me know who you are. Now what? You’re just gonna’ disappear in a ball of magic or something? And then what? Let the Oblivion curse go back to destroying me and Rider?” “Oh, of course.” The Shadow raised his hand and pointed a finger at the Oblivion curse. It imploded into itself right before Sammy’s eyes. “That’s been taken care of. Now, if you excuse me, I have places to go.” He let his hand fall back to his side. “It was a please, Miss Cysso. I’ll be seeing you in the near future.” “Uhhh… Bye.” She figured that he would just disappear, but he did something more. Before departure, he leaned forward and kissed Sammy on the lips. A quick kiss, nothing more, but it was such that would startle Sammy, even for the rest of her life. To be kissed by a stranger… She was afraid. “I love you, Sammy,” he said. And with that, he disappeared, leaving Sammy scared and confused and the world around them returning back into motion. First part of Chapter 3 (this is a dream of Sammy's; she's looking back on when she first met Luke) She punched the wall, sobs running down her face. Her pink hair swished with every turn of her body. “Nobody will ever love me!” Sammy yelled, breaking her sentence off and speaking in between punches. Her friend, Kat, approached her, trying to calm her down. “Sammy, love is like this. Don't be scared to look love in the eye. Besides, it takes lots of tries to find the one true man in your life.” “Yes, but I’m rejected by everyone! No one, I tell you, no one will ever love a thing like me!” Kat stood there for a second, thinking. “Uhm… I’ve got an idea.” “Yeah? What?” Sammy asked unenthusiastically. “What about my cousin, Luke?” Kat offered. “I mean, yeah… He’s an evil sorcerer bent on dominating the world, but he’s a real sweetie… I guess.” Kat flashed her friend a smile. “Well?” Sammy let her punching arm fall to the side of her dress. “Well…” She thought it over. “I’ve got nothing else to lose. What’s his cell phone number?” Kat laughed. “Forget phone numbers! He can just teleport into this place!” She snapped her fingers. Suddenly, a handsome figure appeared in the room. Wing-tipped black hair, tanned skin, muscular body… Sammy’s eyes widened at the sight of Kat’s cousin. “What do you want?” Luke snapped at his cousin. Kat merely smiled and pointed at Sammy. When his eyes fell upon her, his jaw almost dropped, and his face went red. “Oh…” Sammy blushed at Luke’s reaction. Instantly he ran up to her and took her hand. “Why, hello there,” he said, smiling at her. “I’m Luke.” “I’m Sammy,” she said. “Sammy Cysso. It’s nice to meet you.” “Same here,” Luke said, still smiling. “Oh, by the way, do you have a map?” “No… Why?” “I just got lost in your eyes.” Behind the two, Kat was holding in her laughter. Through her muffled giggles, she said to herself, “This just might work out…"

MOAR EXCERPT TIEM NAO. She yelled out in rage. “darn it all! I hate everything! I hate my life!” She cried even harder. “Sammy?” She turned around and saw Bag leaning on the wall. “Sammy, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?” “You heard me?” she said, quickly and quietly. “I really couldn’t get back to sleep,” Bag explained, “but then I heard you yell, so I came to see if you were okay… And it doesn’t look like you are. What’s wrong? Is this about your dream?” Sammy nodded in defeat while the raindrops fell from her cloudy eyes. Now she had to tell him about the dream. Bag rushed over to the couch and sat down next to his wife. As soon as he sat down, he grabbed her into a loving, compassionate hug. “Don’t cry, my love, don’t cry,” he whispered to her. “I’m here for you…” He stroked her hair and held her tightly. “I love you, Sammy,” he added. Suddenly Sammy thought of the encounter she had with The Shadow the previous day. He had kissed her and had told her that he loved her. The way that Bag said it sounded almost exactly like the way The Shadow had said it. She cried even harder, so Bag softly shushed her. “No, no, Sammy… Everything’s going to be fine… Don’t cry… Come here; let’s go back to bed… Get a good night’s sleep… I think that’s what you need…” Sammy nodded. “Alright… Alright…” Bag helped her up and they walked, hand in hand, back to their bedroom. But Sammy laid on her side of the bed for quite some time, wide awake and scared of what would happen if she was to close her eyes. “Bag?” she said suddenly. Bag looked over his shoulder. “Mmm?” he muttered, indicating that he was answering. “I can’t sleep,” she said. “I can’t…” “Why not? It’s not that hard; just close your eyes and relax yourself…” “But I’m scared, Bag,” Sammy interrupted. “Of what? Is this about your dream?” “Yeah… Well, sort of.” “What’s the matter?” “I… I…” “What?” She made a face, as if it was painful for her to say the words. “I don’t want to sleep because I’m afraid you won’t be there when I wake up.” Bag sat up straight. “Do you really think I’d do that do you?” he asked, his eyes wide. “Do you really think I’d leave you with no explanation? Sammy, that’s ridiculous. I love you. By my life, I do. And there’s nothing that could get me to leave you, especially in such a cowardly way.” He leaned over and put his arms around her. “Don’t worry, my love… Don’t worry at all. I’ll be here for you when you close your eyes to the night and when you open them in the morning…” He stroked her hair once again. “So don’t worry. Just fall asleep in my arms and everything will be okay…” Like a lullaby, his words rocked Sammy to sleep. She listened deeply to his words, and with a tear or two rolling down her cheek, she closed her eyes unto darkness. “I love you, Bag,” she said. “I love you, too.” And her subconscious surrealistic world returned to her. This nextun's a dream, again. “So did you ever have any other girlfriends, apart from me?” “Well, sort of. She was an experiment of Kat’s using gelatin and I’m not entirely sure how I got paired up with her, but it happened.” The two lovers laughed. Luke and Sammy were sitting a top a hill, just outside of Tabloid Town, sitting underneath the nighttime’s sky. It was their new favorite place, as most of the time they would just talk about everything and anything, confessing their secrets to each other. Other times they would just lie there, cuddling into each other’s arms. They would not say a single word, just enjoying the other’s company. “What about you?” Luke responded with. That night was one in which they were talking. Sammy shrugged. “Not really… I almost got married to Gav, but he left me at the altar…” “Oh, I’m so sorry,” Luke replied. He gave Sammy a loving, warm hug. She laughed. “Luke, it’s no matter… I have you now…” She smiled and looked into his eyes; his beautiful, brown eyes. “And I have you,” he said with a returning grin. “And I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything else in the world.” They sat there silently. Just grinning, just smiling, just looking into their eyes. Neither had kissed the other yet, not on the lips, but they were waiting for the beautiful moment at which they would. “I always thought,” Sammy said, breaking the spell of the stillness, “that your first kiss was like your virginity; you need to save it for the right person. I would get mad at those that wasted their first kiss on an any old someone. Never the right person…” “So it should be safe to guess that you’ve never kissed any before?” “It should be,” Sammy said with a giggle. “No, never been kissed, never kissed. On the lips, at least. I like to stick to my morals, and I’ve been waiting for that one special someone…” “Oh? And who is this special someone?” “Just my Prince Charming,” Sammy said, her grin turning wider. “Just the one man who would love and cherish me forever, in sickness and in wealth. For richer and for poorer…” “You’re starting to sound like you’re about to marry me,” Luke laughed. “But, just tell me straight. Who would you give your first kiss to?” Sammy paused, nodding and laughing. “Ah, silly Luke. Are you playing games with me, or are you just blind to the fact that it is you that I want to kiss…?” “Maybe a little of both,” he replied. Their foreheads touched, their eyes poured into their souls, and they titled their heads just so slightly that their lips would fit like a lock and key. When his mouth touched with hers, she felt a wave of magic (and not her normal, sorceress magic), cast over her. She felt the butterflies in her stomach flutter around, as if there was no stomach at all. Every tingling sensation stimulated her, making her crave for more... It gets a little... Not graphic, but, yeah. XD So let's skip the part after that... “Sammy,” she heard Luke say suddenly. “I love you.” Sammy stopped immediately. Did she just hear him correctly? Yes, she did, and she nearly squealed with joy; no man had ever said those three little words to her. “Do you love me, too?” Luke asked. “Yes,” she whispered in his ear. “I love you, too.” But everything became corrupted. The world around them became twisted and turned, cracked and crippled, burnt and broken. The two lovers were frozen in time while the world became a nightmare, which was what it was. Sammy then realized that it was not her that was making out with her love on the hill, but rather a Homunculus of her dream. And a nightmare it was becoming, indeed. Everything went black, as if she was falling asleep all over again. But, suddenly, a vision appeared in front of her eyes. Another Homunculus? It appeared so. But it was not of herself, rather a woman much older than her. Black hair that was pulled back in a messy ponytail, pointy elf ears, pale skin… The woman wore a purple corset, black mesh stockings and black boots, along with a scarf that was decorated with the night sky. Sammy noticed that she was grinning. Not happily, but with an evil glint in her eyes. Her hands were at her side, but they were clenched bitterly. “Who are you?” Sammy’s mind said to the woman. But the woman did not answer. The woman continued to glare deviously, the woman continued to have her hands clenched in tight fists. But finally, the woman spoke, her voice raspy and cold; “The nightmare has begun."
Sammy’s eyes shot open once again, and the morning sun greeted her. But as soon as she returned to reality, she noticed something was off. Something was wrong. She looked to her side, and no one was there. No Bag. No Luke. Nobody. She was alone, just as she feared.

It might help if I post the bit before Chapter 5... XD Thoughts raced insanely throughout Sammy’s head. Was it something she did? Was it something she said? Or did she have nothing to do with Bag’s sudden disappearance? Perhaps he was kidnapped, just as she thought earlier. But by who? There wasn’t a soul Sammy could think of who had a reason to kidnap anyone. Maybe they were an invader… Maybe they were hiding out in the unknown regions of Enteedubelyueff… Suddenly Sammy felt a wave of xenophobia crash over her. She eventually reached her bedroom. Even though the sunlight was shining through the open blinds, the room was crawling with darkness. Sammy shuffled silently over to her side of the bed. She laid herself down and enveloped herself in the blankets, she closed her eyes and tried to fall under the spell of sleep once again, but nothing worked. It wasn’t because she missed Bag; it was the memories of both him and Luke that lingered in her mind that made her miserable. The tears had not stopped since before, so they fell down her face faster. “I wish I wasn’t left in the dark,” she muttered to herself. “Why couldn’t he have left a note or something?” Suddenly, an idea hit her like Rider had just thrown a brick at her head. Her eyes lit up, almost another illumination to the dark room. She slapped her forehead for not thinking of it beforehand. She realized that she had not checked the pillows when she upturned the house. It was a very foolish mistake, because she might have missed something. And indeed she did. She pulled back the pillow that Bag’s head would rest upon every night and saw it. A piece of paper. It was torn, obviously taken from a larger piece of paper. Sammy could see from where she was that it had words written on it. She picked it up and read the chicken scratched letters:
It's true, we're all a little insane. But it's so clear, Now that I'm unchained.
Fear is only in our minds
Sammy looked up from the letter, her eyes wide in terror. She didn’t know who, or what, wrote this, but it certainly wasn’t Bag. She was now certain that someone had kidnapped him. Her teeth clenched and grinded. A growl escaped from her throat. Her eyebrows narrowed. Her face gave off a look of anger and a want for vengeance. Bag was taken from her, and someone was going to pay. So this time I'm posting all of Chapter 5 because it's just that awesome. XD Omg Fraze cameo! Rider read the note. She read it again. A third time. But every time she read the words on the piece of paper that her daughter had presented to her, it said the same thing. Almost a poem, but rather a note. A ransom note? No. A threat-mantic letter? No, not that either. “I’ve got no clue,” Rider said. “I think it’s a riddle, and I’ve never been good with riddles.” “This sucks,” Sammy said with a sigh. “Bag is the only person around here who’s really good at puzzles and riddles, and he’s the one kidnapped!” Ery shrugged. “What about Dan or Killix? They made that puzzle for the 50th anniversary of Enteedubelyueff’s founding…” “True,” Rider agreed. “And Fraze! He was the first to solve it.” “Okay, so maybe I was exaggerating when I said Bag was the only one… But, still.” Rider, Ery, and Sammy were sitting in front of the fireplace in the Catacombs. Apart from them, no one else was around; most of the other Enteedubelyueffers hadn’t even woken up by that time, despite the fact that it was light out. After Sammy had found the note, she had taken no time to rest. Instead, she immediately ran to find Rider and Ery – the two people she knew she could trust in a situation like the one she was presented with. So there they sat, pondering over the note. “But is it even a puzzle in the first place?” Ery added. “Do you understand what it means?” Sammy asked. Ery shook his head. “Then it’s a riddle, and it needs to be encrypted. We’ll just need to wait for Fraze, Killix, or Dan to come here.” “Did I hear my name being said?” a voice called. The three turned around and saw Fraze coming down the steps that connected the Catacombs to the Main Square. Sammy’s eyes lit up. “What’s up?” “Fraze!” Sammy called. She took the note from Rider and ran up to the fellow Foruymer. “Oh, thank Anubis you’re here. We need your elite puzzle-solving skills.” Fraze laughed. “Right, right. What for?” “Bag’s been kidnapped,” Rider said. Fraze’s smile disappeared and his face turned serious. “The kidnapper left a note, but we’re not entirely sure what it means.” Fraze looked back at Sammy. “Let me see.” Sammy handed over the piece of paper. He walked over to a chair and began to read the note carefully. It took him many minutes to analyze the letter before looking up and saying, “I’ve got nothing.” The anticipation that hung in the air seemed to collapse, all at once. Sammy yelled out in frustration. “Seriously?” she said to Fraze. “You’re kidding, right? You’re amazing at solving riddles… How can you not figure it out?” He shrugged. “I just can’t, Sammy,” Fraze said. “I’m really sorry… This just doesn’t make sense. I mean, usually I’m good at cracking puzzles, but this just goes beyond my imagination. I can’t think of anything that could be the answer to this.” Sammy started to go off in a rant. Rider and Ery ignored her. “Thanks for your help, though,” Rider said to Fraze. “We appreciate it.” Fraze smiled. “Right, you’re welcome.” He nodded to them. “Well, actually, I’ve got to be going now… I was on my way to Dan’s house, but when I heard my name, I came down here…” “Oh, you’re visiting Dan?” Rider repeated. “When you see him, could you see if he can solve the riddle?” “And Killix, too…” Ery added. “If you see her, of course.” Fraze nodded. “Will do. I’ll see you guys around.” With that, he waved goodbye and walked back up the stairs to the Main Square. They were alone once again. “Okay, so now what?” Rider asked with a sigh and a noise when she fell back onto the chair. “We’re out of ideas… I mean, if Fraze couldn’t solve it, I doubt Killix or Dan could.” “Or anyone else,” Ery added. “darn, why does this have to be so confusing? And Sammy, are you quite done?” “No,” she snapped. Rider gave Ery a look that meant that he should just not try. “Well, this sucks,” Sammy was saying. “My husband’s been kidnapped, and no one can figure out this darned note. Hell, I doubt Lady Jade could figure this out… make sea monkeys it all.” Rider now shot Sammy a look. Just the gaze enough was a warning for Sammy to watch her language. Sammy sighed in despair and sat back down in her seat. She turned to Rider. “Did you even tell Lady Jade about Bag’s disappearance?” Rider nodded. “Yeah, only a few minutes before you came and got me about the note.” “What did she say about it?” “She’ll get the Mods and Admens on it. She said she’ll get them to figure it out.” “Should we tell her about the note?” Ery suggested. “I mean, it’ll help the investigation.” “That would be the wisest thing to do,” Rider said. Her voice trailed off, but came back after a few seconds. “But it seemed like Bag’s kidnapping is the last thing she needed to hear about. When I got into the Admen HQ, she looked like she already had a lot of things going on…” Ery shrugged. “She’s the leader of the Foruym. What do you expect?” “Not that,” Rider said. “I’ve needed to talk with Pat many times in the past, but none of those times did she look so… So…” “So what?” Sammy asked. “I dunno. Can’t think of the word.” “Eh, you’ll think of it,” Ery said. “Yeah, I guess… But then again, it’s just a word. Like you said, I’ll think of it eventually.” She gave a slight laugh to lift the mood, but it didn’t work. Sammy still looked depressed, and Ery still looked confused. “Oh, cheer up guys. It can’t get any worse than this, can it?” Sammy’s eyes widened. “No, Rider, don’t say that!” But the damage had been done. At that moment, she felt an ocean of magical energy crash over her, covering her and almost-suffocating her. Her sensed dulled out. Her vision went black. And nothing more.
After a second or two of blackness and dullness, Sammy felt herself come back to her senses. Her eyes were still closed, but she could feel her presence awaking. The first thing she felt was the pounding headache that resided in her forehead. The second thing was the feeling of ropes binding into her. She then realized that her hands were tied behind her back and her arms were tied down to her body. Kidnapped? Perhaps so. darn it, Rider, she thought bitterly. Why’d you have to say that?! She felt helpless and isolated. Her vision was still black. However, after a minute she noticed that the only thing blocking her visualization was her own eyelids. She took a moment to feel like an idiot and then opened her eyes. The world around her was hazy, but that was only because her eyes had been closed for a long time… But how long was a long time? A minute? A day? A year? Sammy was afraid to find out. But everything finally became clear to her. She didn’t know where she was. It was a room, that much she could figure out, its walls and floor painted black and grey. But where, exactly, was still a mystery. Sammy turned her head to the right and nearly gasped. Next to her sat Rider; also tied up and still knocked out. Sammy then turned to the right of her and saw Ery, who was in the same condition as Rider. “Hey…” Sammy whispered. Her voice felt raspy. “Hey, Ery.” Nothing. “Ery, wake up.” Still nothing. “Wake up.” Nada. “WAKE UP, darn it.” Suddenly Ery’s eyes shot open. “What?!” he panted. He turned his head and faced Sammy. “Oh, it’s just you…” He looked down. “Okay, why am I tied up?” “What was the last thing you remember?” Sammy asked immediately. Ery thought for a moment. “Uhm… Well, Rider gave us the Kiss of Death, you got knocked out, Rider got knocked out, and then I got knocked out. But it was all so quick that I had no time to turn around and see who the attacker was.” “Neither here,” Sammy said. “But, then again, I was knocked out first.” Ery nodded. “True. How long have you been awake for?” “Only a minute or two before I got you up.” “So we still don’t know what’s going on?” “Nope.” “Nor who kidnapped us… If we were kidnapped.” “Neither that.” “Or where the hell we are?” “Nuh-uh.” “Well, this sucks.” “Yup.” Ery and Sammy sat there for a few minutes. They didn’t say a thing; they just sat there, waiting for Rider to awake. But she didn’t. Sammy gulped. “You think she’s dead?” she asked. She was afraid to ask such a question, for what if it was true? But Ery shook his head. “Nah. She’s breathing. Don’t you see her chest moving?” “Ery!” Sammy cried in shock. “What?” Ery caught on to what Sammy meant. “No, that’s not what I meant. I wasn’t looking at…” Sammy started laughing at Ery’s red face. “Shut up,” he muttered. Sammy let out a few more giggles, but she stopped. “Think she’s gonna wake up soon?” Sammy shrugged. “I dunno. Hopefully.” “Yeah…” Thankfully, Rider woke up after a few more minutes. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked around in bewilderment. “What the heck?” was the first thing she said. “What happened?” “Thanks to you,” Ery said, “we’ve been kidnapped. We don’t know by who or why, and we don’t even know where we are.” “Someone’s grumpy,” Rider whispered to Sammy. Sammy responded with a quick giggle. The sound of feet reached their ears, and the three grew silent. They watched as a door opened on the other side of the room. They were a bit surprised that it was a door, since it was blended in with the wall, but it didn’t matter all that much. A figure wearing a black cloak walked into the room. The hood of the cloak fell over the figure’s eyes. Sammy gasped; she immediately recognized the figure. It was The Shadow… “Are you the ones who kidnapped us?” Sammy instantly said. “Yes,” The Shadow said without looking at his captives. He closed the door behind him and turned around. Sammy watched as his jaw dropped once he saw who he abducted. “Oh my God…” he said softly. “Sammy?” “What? Don’t even know who you kidnapped?” Ery snapped. The Shadow gave no sign of reply to Ery, yet his mouth still hung in disbelief. “I… I was sent to capture the T-true Ones… You three. M-my mistress, she told me where to find y-you three, but not what you l-looked like…” “So, basically, you had no clue who you were supposed to grab?” Rider said. The Shadow nodded. “Well that was stupid. How do you know you even got the right people?” The Shadow thought for a moment. “Well… My mistress told me that I could find you in your Catacombs only moments before I captured you three… So I doubt you would’ve gotten up and would be replaced with three others in a matter of seconds.” “True,” Ery said, “but how did you not see our faces when you captured us?” “Do you even know what I did to you?” The Shadow asked. “No, you don’t, because you were unconscious. No, I used my magic on you three. I surrounded you three in a sticky, gooey substance, but it worked like a bag to get you three out of the catacombs. “So how are we tied up?” Rider instigated. “Side-effect of the magic,” The Shadow replied with no hesitation. “How long have we been out for?” Rider added. The Shadow took a moment to think. “Maybe an hour or two.” “Where are we?” Ery demanded. “Not Enteedubelyueff, I can tell you that much. But otherwise, I’m not allowed to say.” “Why not?” Ery pressed. “Because then you’d know your location and you could escape.” “So?” “Are you playing games with me, boy?” Ery fell silent. He had nothing more to say on the matter. So Rider took a turn. “Why would you want to kidnap us?” “I told you, it is all on my mistress’s will.” “Who is your mistress?” “I cannot reveal that, either.” “And why not?” “Well, if you were to escape, then you could alert people of my mistress.” “And why would that be a bad thing.” “Look, I’m not an idiot like those bad guys you see in T.V. shows. I know better than to tell you everything about the plan.” “What plan?” “darn it all, Rider!” The Shadow yelled. Rider froze. “How do you know my name? How do you know Sammy’s name?” “I… I…” The Shadow started to panic again. “I…” “Is that all you can say?” Ery said with a smirk. They were finally picking him apart. “Or are you going to be a man and answer our questions?” “No,” The Shadow said weakly. “No, I cannot answer your questions.” “And why not? What are you planning on doing with us?” “I cannot say.” The Shadow was starting to replace his panic with impatience. “Why not?” “Haven’t we already gone over this?” “Maybe, but you still haven’t answered our questions,” Rider said. “So are you going to answer us?” “Why did you kiss me?” Everyone stopped and looked at Sammy. She had not spoken once in the spur of the moment. But now her eyes were wide and shining, like a portal to her heart and soul. Rider and Ery were more astonished that Sammy had asked the question, but they weren’t around when it happened. The Shadow stopped. He said nothing at first, but merely smiled. “Because I love you, Sammy.” “Bag?” Rider asked. “Bag, is that you?” The Shadow shook his head. “No. Far from him.” The room fell silent for many more minutes. Suddenly, Rider’s eyes lit up. “Frustrated!” Ery wanted to smack his forehead. “My God, Rider. That was the word you couldn’t think of?” Sammy and The Shadow ignored the two. Instead, Sammy asked another question. “Is now the right moment, Mr. Shadow?” Her voice was soft, but pure. It was serious, but still adorable because her normal tone was of a bubbly nature. “Is now the time?” The Shadow did nothing at first. Sammy thought he was pondering over what she said. Finally, The Shadow smiled. It was small, but warm. He walked over to Sammy, held out his hand, and let his magic undo the ropes that were wrapped around her scrawny body. Sammy was confused, but she stretched out her arms so that she could regain the feeling in them after having them tied up for so long. After a moment of stretching, she returned her arms to her sides. The Shadow held out a hand to help Sammy up. She took it and soon she was on her legs again. Rider and Ery exchanged looks. “So,” Sammy said, “is now the right moment?” It was then that she realized that she was still in her pajamas, although her Naruto jacket was covering up her nightshirt where one could clearly see she had no bra on, and her usual black, baggy pants were replaced with black sweatpants. The Shadow nodded. “Yes. It is.” For the first time, since Sammy first met him, The Shadow drew back his hood and revealed what he had been hiding. The rest of his face was tan, his eyes a brilliant shade of brown, and his hair, jet black and wing tipped. Not only did Sammy gasp and her eyes widen, but Ery and Rider did the same. They couldn’t believe who the person was. They couldn’t believe he was still alive. It was Luke. edit: Hehehe... Whoops. ^_^;; I guess I forgot about one of the curse words... Good thing the censors caught it.

MORE EXCERPTS TIEM NAO. You don't get much of Chapter 6 because Sammy gets really mad and when Sammy gets really mad she curses a lot. XD So I won't post the really bad stuff, but if you're sensative to curses... Just don't read this part. Her eyes were still boggling, her mouth still hanging in incredulity, her head shaking subtly in skepticism. No matter how much she tried to refuse for it to be happening, it was. Her ex-husband was alive and standing in front of her as if he never left in the first place. “Happy to see me?” Luke said with a smile. He held out arms, waiting for a hug from Sammy. But instead, she drew back her arm and punched him in the gut. The fact that Luke wasn’t ready for it magnified the power and sent him stumbling backwards, clutching his stomach. “Obviously not,” Ery muttered to Rider. “What the hell was that for?!” Luke yelled. “What do you think, you jerk?” Sammy fumed. Her eyes were narrowed and reflected fury. “You were a liar and an uranus, and now you think I’m going to take you back?” “What are you talking about?” Sammy laughed sarcastically. “Oh, let me guess. You’ve come down with amnesia so you don’t remember the empty words you promised to me?” Luke stood still. “Oh,” was all he said. “So now you’ve remembered?” Sammy said with a sneer. “Good. Maybe now you can face me like a man and tell me why you left.” But Luke did not answer. “Wallowing in your own self-pity?” “Shut up!” Luke yelled. “You don’t understand… I would have never left you on my own will…” “But you promised, you uranus!” Sammy shouted back. “Promises aren’t meant to be broken. No matter what, you’re supposed to keep them.” “No matter what?! You really think it was that easy? You really think I just promised I’d always stay with you and then I got up in the middle of the night?” Luke’s hands tightened into a fist. With that, his midnight blue magic began to give off a glow, just as Sammy’s would do. “My God, you really are stuck-up!” “STUCK-UP?!” Sammy roared. “You left me because you thought I was stuck-up?!” “And what if I did?” “You really are an uranus.” “And you really a lady dog!” “lady dog?” That one set Sammy over the edge. The one insult that Sammy could not stand to be called was that. lady dog. And Luke had said it. So Sammy marched right up to him, stared him coldly, right in his eyes. “How dare you call me that…? You… You…” She struggled for the words. Finally, her nerves exploded, and her mouth went off with every insult she could think you. “You self-centered, self-absorbed, egotistical, arrogant, bigheaded, overconfident, conceited scoundrel!” Luke was enraged, it seemed. He grabbed Sammy by the shoulders, perhaps to push her or throw her into the wall, but no. Instead, he brought her closer to him. Completely contrasting to the moment, he kissed her. He pressed his lips to hers and kissed her. Ery fell over and Rider’s jaw dropped. Sammy’s eyes widened in shock, but once she realized what was going on, she closed them like she always would. She wrapped her arms around Luke’s waist while her hands fondled his back. His hands remained on her shoulders and he held her closer, as if begging for permission to enter her mouth. Sammy granted it and deepened the kiss. The two grew so passionate that Sammy nearly fell over. Finally Luke let go, but he gave her a loving look, gazing amorously in her eyes. With a smile, he said, “And that’s why I married you.” Sammy put her hands on her hips. “Oh? What do you mean? Let me guess; you think that just because you kissed me, now I’m not angry with you anymore?” “No, well, yeah… But that’s not what I meant! I mean, those insults… They were brilliant!” Sammy stared him down bitterly, as if the kiss never happened. “What?” “You really are an uranus,” she said. “You don’t get it, do you? You’ve lost everything. I’m married now.” She watched as his eyes widened a bit in disbelief. “But… But you said you’d love me forever.” “And you said you’d never leave me. But obviously that promise was broken. I don’t love you anymore, Luke.” “Lies,” Rider whispered to herself. “You’re letting your emotions doing the talking, you fool. I know you still love him.” But only Ery heard her; Sammy and Luke were too busy in their own conversation. “You’re lying,” Luke said, still in disbelief. “You don’t mean it.” Hmmm... Does it remind you of this? Sammy smiled. “Thanks, Ery.” She gave him a hug. “Thanks for sticking with me. I mean, Rider… I wish she wasn’t so angry with me right now. Now would be the perfect time for her wise words…” “She’s not angry with you, Sammich. She’s just disappointed in you.” “How so? She’s not me!” “Yeah, but she knows you well enough to be you. Before I came over here, she told me that she thinks it wasn’t like you to fire off at Luke. She knows all the stories you’ve told her, she knows exactly what you’re feeling right now. You miss Bag, you miss Luke… She knows you still love him…” “I do still love him,” Sammy said. “I do… But I don’t know what came over me. I just got so angry with him. I didn’t know what to say, but… But, God, he was just getting on my nerves!” “How so?” Ery asked. “I don’t think he did anything wrong…” “He promised me, Ery. He gave me sweet words and promised to stay with me forever. Then he goes off and disappears for a few years. When he shows up randomly one day, he just assumes that I’d take him back…” “But didn’t you hear him?” “What do you mean?” “He said he didn’t disappear on his own will.” “And?” “He said he wouldn’t have left you for the world…” “But he still left.” “You really don’t understand, do you?” Ery sighed. “He was taken against his own will that night, Sammy. I wasn’t there to witness, and you weren’t awake, but just by his words you can tell what happened.” “So… He didn’t leave me?” “He did, only… Not on his own choice.” “He was kidnapped? Like Bag?” “Like Bag.” Sammy started bawling again. “Oh Anubis, what have I done?!” Ery tried to shush her. “No, no, Sammy, don’t start crying again. There’s no need to cry… You were just in a misunderstanding… But you understand now, right?” Sammy gulped back her tears. Slowly and painfully, she nodded. Ery smiled. “Then that’s all that matters.” “So now what? I’m hopeless…” “No, you’re not, Sammy… No, no. You’re just going to need to wait. Just be patient and see what the future brings.” “But –” “No, no ‘but’. You’re just going to have to wait, just like everyone else.” He grabbed Sammy’s chin and lifted it up. “Hey, don’t look so sad about it. Everyone makes mistakes. Even I make mistakes… You know what the biggest mistake I made was?” “What?” “Picking a fight with you. That’s what started our rivalry those many years ago.” “So?” “Well, had I not done that, we would’ve been great friends from then and not just starting to be friends now.” Sammy smiled. “You’re right… I’m sorry that happened…” “What? Our friendship?” “No, no. The rivalry.” “Oh… Right… I’m sorry, too. Really, truly I am…” “It’s okay. We’re friends now, and that’s all that really matters. Put the past behind us.” “Precisely.” Ery shot her a smile. Sammy’s tear-stained face began to blush. “What?” Ery laughed. “I was just thinking… About stuff.” Ery nodded suspiciously, but playfully. The two ended up laughing in the end. “Like I said,” Sammy said, “thanks a lot.” “Hey, no problem.” Sammy started laughing again, but this time more like a ditzy girl. “What is your problem?” Ery chuckled. “You’re so silly, Sammy…” “You can be pretty silly yourself, too.” “Ah, shush…” Ery joined in the uncontrollable laughing. “What’s so funny?” he asked, finally. “I don’t know,” Sammy said, still giggling. “I just feel like laughing, I guess… I used to it a lot when I first met Luke and Bag…” “Oh?” Ery said, his eyebrows raised slightly. “Miss Sammy Cysso, are you flirting with me?” Sammy’s face went red and she started laughing again. “I dunno…” Ery started laughing. “This is just too insane…” Eventually Ery and Sammy calmed themselves down. They sat on the couch for a while, talking about whatever topics reached their mouths. At some point, Ery said, “Oh wow, look at the time.” Sammy shot a glance at the chronometer; it was nearly 5 o’clock. “I should be going soon… It was a lot of fun talking to you, Sammy.” “Same here,” Sammy replied with a smile. “We should do this more often. Just talk… All of us are so wrapped up with things lately, though. Sometimes I think all we need is a little chat.” Ery nodded. “I agree. But, as much as I’d like to continue to chat, I’ve got to get going…” Sammy sent a nod back to her friend. “I understand,” she said. “Well, thanks for everything, Ery.” She went to give him another hug. Neither of them were sure, even years later, what exactly happened at that moment. Maybe Ery moved his head on accident, or on purpose? Or maybe Sammy was planning it for a while. Still, what happened, well, happened. Instead of a hug, Sammy ended up saying goodbye to Ery with a kiss on the lips. Sammy drew back almost immediately. Both her and Ery’s eyes were wide in shock. She brought a hand to her lips, still in fright. “Oh… My… God…” she whispered. Ery blinked a few times. “Uhh…” he stammered. “Uhh… That… Never… That…” “I…” Sammy stammered in return. “You… Uhhh…” Finally, after moments of words failing him, Ery found a voice. “That never happened, right?” Sammy nodded almost immediately after Ery had spoken. “Right. Totally right.” *is totally going to get shot*

As requested; Sammy Cysso's attempted suicide. The screen went black. Sammy had turned off the T.V. She clutched her head and started screaming for no apparent reason. “I can’t take this anymore!” she yelled. “Bag’s been ****ing kidnapped, and I can’t do anything about it! Luke hates me, and I can’t do anything about it. I can’t do anything at all! I’m so ****ing useless…” More tears poured down her cheeks. Her eyelid twitched, her hands were shaking, and she was clearly going insane. “There’s only one thing to solve all this…” she muttered to herself. “I don’t deserve this life anymore…” She picked herself up from off the couch and stumbled her way to her cutting board in the kitchen, where one lone knife laid. Grinning insanely, she grabbed the knife and walked in a drunken-like stupor to the bathroom. Standing quietly, she examined the sink. It was clean and white, which made Sammy angry. She wanted for it to be disgustingly drenched in blood. Her blood. She gave one last grin and closed her eyes. She raised the knife, ready to deliver the one fatal blow. She felt her hand start to swing like a pendulum. It was almost free-falling, straight for her heart, but something caught it. A hand. She dropped the knife into the sink. Her eyes shot open and she turned around, coming face to face with Luke. She screamed. Tears were watering in Luke’s eyes. “Oh God, Sammy… Don’t do it.” Sammy was now breathing heavily. “What would make you want to try to kill yourself?” “How the hell did you get in my house?!” Sammy screamed. “I’ve been here the entire time… I’ve been in your room, waiting for you to go to bed. But when you screamed, back in the living room… I had to come and see what the matter was. And you tried to kill yourself?! What were you thinking?” “Bag’s been kidnapped and you’re mad at me…” “I never said I was mad at you. What made you think that?” Sammy’s lip quivered. “I… I…” Her tears began to flow once again. “Luke, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. But I didn’t think you loved me anymore…” “I told you, Sammy. I’ll always love you. No matter what. But obviously you don’t love me.” “No!” Sammy yelled. “I still love you. But earlier today… Those things I said to you, I didn’t mean any of it. Really, I didn’t!” He let go of her wrist and she wrapped her arms around his torso, burying her sobs into his chest. “I’m so sorry, Luke. Please don’t hate me!” He rested his head on hers, stroking her hair. “I don’t hate you, Sammy. I still love you… But please don’t scare me anymore like that. What would’ve happened if I wasn’t here?” Sammy cried even harder. Once she was thinking retrospect, she realized what she would have done. “Don’t waste your life away,” Luke whispered. “Please, God, never try to kill yourself…” “I won’t. I promise. Never after this.” Luke smiled. “No matter what kind of situation you’re in, things will always get better. No matter what.” Sammy nodded. “I understand…” He lifted her chin up and kissed her on the forehead. “Now, don’t cry. There’s nothing to cry about. I’m here for you. You’re warm and safe, now. Don’t cry…” His words were like a lullaby; Sammy nearly fell asleep in his arms. “Luke?” Sammy muttered. “Mm?” “What were you doing in my room?” Luke froze. “Uhhh…” “You weren’t stalking me, were you?” “Uhm… Maybe…” Sammy looked up into his eyes. “What were you going to do?” Luke’s eyes went shifty, trying to avoid her. “Nothing…” “Were you going to go down on me?!” “Uhh…” Luke couldn’t resist anymore. He finally gave up and looked at his lover. “Yeah. I was.” Sammy’s jaw dropped. “You’re horrible!” “No, Sammy, don’t get mad at me…” Sammy looked at him in disbelief. “And just when I thought I could trust you…” She broke away from her ex-husband and stormed away to her room. The sunlight was no longer beaming through the blinds; the sun had set for the evening. “Sammy, just hear me out!” Luke was calling after her. “Please, I didn’t mean it like that!” Sammy turned around bitterly. “And what did you mean?” Luke scrambled for words, but nothing came. He had nothing left but to hang his head in defeat. There was no talking his way out. “Just what I thought,” Sammy said. “I thought I could trust you, Luke. I really did, but I guess this proves it.” Luke looked up, his expression just begging for her to come back. He ached from the rejection. Sammy shook her head at him. “I really can’t believe you, Luke.” “Oh, well, believe this!” he yelled. Sammy was taken aghast for a moment; his outburst seemed to come out of no where. One moment he was wallowing in his own pity, and the next he was yelling at her. But that’s just what Luke planned for. He caught her off guard, just what he wanted. At that moment, he stormed up to her, grabbed her, and pushed her onto the edge of her bed. Her eyes widened as he collapsed on top of her and pressed his lips against hers. Part of her wanted to kick Luke off of her, but the other half of Sammy wanted for him to continue.
