Yay! Hopefully this will be darker than previous plots.
Hmm, after reading the comic, the term "Faustian bargain" keeps coming to mind...

I'm actually hoping for fewer zombies in this one, despite it being a spooky and haunted plot. The Desert and Hannah plot both had undead minions. ^^
And <3 for the color scheme!

*made thread at exactly the same time as Komori -_-;*
I love it so far. ^_^ It's got a very different tone than the usual plots -- darker, more cynical. And the Kougra who gets all upset at Bruno for "messing with his girl" -- that's just too funny. I've gotta make the most out of this plot, no ifs ands or buts. =3

Gilly! j;D I like Gilly, even if she seems to be more of a reader-stand-in at this point. ^_^ Bruno is as bishie as Kanrik. I think I like him. ^_^ But, I have to wonder what's going to go wrong with that potion... o.o

Hmm, can it be that Komori was wrong? Just playing. I'm sure you're excited about it anyways, as am I. Great start, I thought. Cliche, but that's swiftly becoming part of any Neopets storyline. XD Love the monochromatic coloring, though I hope that changes as it would be sort of boring after a while. The bony hand at the bottom's cool, but kinda plain. More romance! What's this world coming to? Already love the Krawk, very cool. Due to the trading cards, I've got an idea what the potion'll really do to them, and that's sorta disappointing, but they've probably got a few tricks up their sleeves, so we'll just have to see. And finally, I noticed the top says The Tale of Woe, and the Elephante seems to be reading from a book. Perhaps there's more than one story? >>

Hm...I was looking at the deck again and I noticed Sophie, but doesn't she seem....younger in the deck than she does now? Wait....they mentioed Reg and Bruno having a sister, but we haven't seen her face. OMG!!! WILL THIS BE SOPHIE'S BACK STORY?!?!? Gosh, I hope so! I love her!

Is it just me or is this story incredibly cliched and predictable? So far I'm a little disappointed, since I was hoping for something a little more original, but this is still the first part. I AM liking the dark tone of it all, though!
OH and I especially liked those transformations at the end. Props to the cure-all elixir.

That would be way too cliche... and they've got a Lupe as one of the main characters; I figure they've already filled their quota of cliches for this plot. ...Well, I can dream.

Yes, I'm willing to eat my words. I was mistaken. HOWEVER, I'm still sure that this plot cannot be gleaned from the TCG cards, unlike EVERY OTHER PLOT that occured since the beginning of the TCG. AND I'm sure this isn't the reason that HW won the Altador Cup! (Which was the whole reason I was upset in the first place! >_<)
"Tales of Woe" is indeed a book (and not a very useful TCG card. :/). Oooh, more than one story WOULD be really cool. And it'd totally explain the hodge-podge-ness of the TCG expansion.

Hee! I'm fine with Gilly as reader-stand-in, myself -- I like having her acknowledged, and I'd probably enjoy it if we had a story about her, but this is cute.

Look at the TCG set. It will tell you that everyone becomes cursed...tainted...and that Mr. Krawkley (the one who gives out the potions) is a villain, using dark magic.
