Thanks, Mr. President, for reinstating the draft.
Oops, that's right, you want it to be known as military recall into service! I'm so deeply sorry, Bushy.
Yes, I was being sarcastic.
Well, it seems that any soldier that has not served 8 years of duty will go back to Iraq, or some other middle-east nation. So that means the deals that I originally agreed to, 2 or 4 years of duty, have been broken. It's really just another draft! Plus, the reserves are being called in.
My cousin just got back from his year or two in Iraq (he was in the military for four). He's more scared now than the last time he was sent, because now he knows what it's like. He wonn't fight, though, but he will drive the trucks. And the trucks are usually what are hit by ambushes.
His sister is in the Reserves. Her unit was almost called in to go to Iraq, but another unit was picked shortly before she had to go to a re-training camp or something. She should be getting married just about now (I'm not there because it's for immediate family only)...

I hope Congress does reinstate a full-scale draft by the time I turn 18. I've been looking for an excuse to go to England...

You know, I kinda pity Bush. I mean... c'mon! What would YOU do in his circumstances? Forget the jokes, I mean, seriously, if you had the weight of all those decisions on your shoulders, a messy war in Iraq, and half your people are blaspheming your name from one end to the other... and no matter what decision you make you're going to make people angry at you... that's not a place I'd like to be in. Once I complained to my dad about this guy I said wasn't doing something good. He listened calmly, then cut me off and said: "Well Crystal, if you think he's doing it so badly, why don't you get yourself that position and do it right yourself?" I started protesting, citing reasons, but my dad was right. We're happy to criticize people but we don't want to do the job ourselves.... Although I do think he's handling this particular subject that this thread is based on rather badly, I just get irritated at people bashing him like that - he's doing the best he can. What would you do in his place? ... I will now slink off and hide from the angry glares people are going to send my way.... I said I'd remain neutral because I wasn't involved... so much for that... *slinks off*

In fcat, he not only choose it, he wanted to be President! He wanted people to vote for him! Besides all that, the problems we have are only a result of him (within reason - obviously he didn't choose for terrorists to attack us, though he did decide to go to war in Iraq). He can ultimately blame no one but himself for his own actions. And yes, he can't please everybody. I know that. No one ever can! No leader from any country can ever please everybody. People hate Bush because they disagree with him. And that's the way the system works - you disagree with somebody, you make you're point known. Not just say "Well, this guy might be srewing up left and right, but I'm sure he's trying his best, so, I'll let him off". If people did that, Democracy wouldn't work. However, I do try and go easy on the President on certain areas - such as the economy. I don't think it's right to hold one man accountable for an entire economy, or to say he's responsible for the economy going up/going down/staying the same.

I understand your points Buddy, and yeah, they're right. I was actually talking to the people who bash Bush - the ones who don't just state their disagreements, their views, and make their points known. I was actually more talking to the people who think that everything is his fault and despise him and go out of their way to say nasty things about him whenever they can... that's what I don't like. No offense to anyone here, it's your choice to do so, but it just rather irritates me.

Hey! You don't have to live with him running the country! He's mean!!! You would've though after we lost the first 500 men he would've called them back in before anyone else got killed in Iraq. But, noooo, you have to keep them all there, and now this is more like the misery country. And if nobody was watching the early show on Friday, I think it was Friday, they were doing a list of people who died in Iraq. They listed about 40 or 50 ppeople, gave a life story about 4 or 5 of them, and then I figured out it took, like, 8 minuets.

I think Farenheight(sp?) 9/11 expresses exsactly how I feel. DOWN WITH BUSH! Oh course I have my reasons for hating him. Between the war and the economy I don't know where to start. And to repeat what Erika said. You don't have to put up with him.

Still, of all the people in the US, surely there's someone better than an old texan who at his darkest years, drunk, poor family relations, broke, who chooses to run for president out of the blue, just cause he knows his dad could do it. I'm sorry, but that's a pathetic choice. There has to be someone more qualified than BUSH. Frankly, I'm glad I'm not under a prime minister like him (I'm Canadian)
Put simply, it's the war that tells me he shouldn't be up there at the top. War is the last, final option. There must be another option. Whatever happened to peace and reasoning with them? Gah, with idiot's on earth, peace is nothing but a dream.
