Sorry about that!! We didn't mean for you to... err... sleep and have nightmares!
Lucky you. My parents err... well, like I said... when I've reached university, I'll stop for good. Going to be a long and hard process though...
Did you know that omnivores eat (I mean regular people, most people) about 36 animals a year? Or was it a month? Or was it 37...?

It couldn't be a month, could it? Then you'd have people eating over 1 animal per day...I somehow doubt it.
I'm not too sure about all those reasons to be a vegetarian, Ember...I don't think not eating meat could give peace of mind, and also, I could have peace of mind from other sources...Being attuned to the world, etc. But really, all I'm doing is letting mother nature do her job. If Mother Nature didn't want animals to be eaten, she wouldn't've made them so tasty.

What I meant by "peace of mind" is that you no longer randomly start thinking about cows when you're eating hamburgers and all of a sudden don't feel so well.

The only time that happens to me is when someone talks about eating lobster. There has GOT to be some way to put that poor little bugger out of his misery before cooking him. And staring at them in the Seafood aisle in the grocery store isn't any better.

My mom is cajun, so she always joke about how she fed him instead of him feeding her. Now whenever she tries to order crawfish at a restraunt I give her a dirty look.

Yeah... pets... *sniff* I like seafood... but... err... once... in a Chinese Market thingy... I saw... well, my dad was getting a pretty big fish, and then they got it outta the tank and it wriggled as I watched it... and then.. >_< they used a wooden mallet and smacked his head!! Poor fishy! I can't believe I ate it!! At least... it didn't die for nothing... it would have been eaten by someone else, anyway. Painful, painful death...

Okie, today, I went to China Town again. I have a looong and tedious story to tell, so don't mind me..!!
Welp... we went to buy groceries again, and as my parents piled stuff inside the cart, I thought about writing this and being a veggie-tarian.
I know it's horrible eating meat, but... ya know. It's hard to go without, especially for me!! But I don't want to eat anymore animals, and I knew I would become one when I grew older, but that would mean at least 6 more years of eating meat...
I can go without milk products easily, but then I thought about something else. Ever notice how animals, like foxes, eat other animals too, just like us? And raccoons, they eat animals AND plants, just like us! But then, if they were like us, and thought about stopping the eating of animals, then they would most likely die... but of course, we wont, so that's a relief!! ^^
And plants are living things too, and you know how we name them and all... but then again, plants don't really have emotions, do they? All they plan to do is reach for the sun, that's their goal. They want to survive, and reach the sky!!
After that, we carried all the bags into the car, and then went to a bakery. I saw many different foodies, like chicken buns, hot dog stuffies, beef, pork, yaddayaddayadda... but then... *sigh* I thought there wouldn't be a single non-meaty food there.
While I was looking, some guy was beside me, looking too, and he asked, "How are you?" I think he thought I was alone, because my parents were about a metre away from me T_T I wanted to punch his lights out. never talk to strangers. I didn't.
And then I found it!! -- yummy!! It had no meat in it, and I was so relieved!! My mom said it was a cakey thingy, and it was only 80 cents too!! So I saved money, AND saved animals!! ^^
And then I remembered. pastery stuffies are made from eggs. Yay.

I mean, haven't you ever seen the sadness of a Christmas tree? I have. Although I like Christmas trees, they are rather cruel. You have to wonder how sad the poor dying tree is. The reason that isn't my logic for other plants and animals is because Christmas trees, although lovely, are really rather senseless. When an animal or plant is eaten, it becomes part of the survival of another creature. It has a purpose to die. It's almost noble. And yes, Ember, individual lives matter, but all animals must eat to survive, and cows and chickens and all other animals will die anyway, so why can't they have a purpose in helping a fellow creature survive? If we were meant not to eat animals, we would have that nature. It might not be nice to end lives early, but if we weren't meant to eat animals, then no one would have ever eaten one.

But you see, we are different from foxes and other carnivore because we have evolved to be ABLE to survive without meat. That's a rather special thing, don't you think? Also, there is a world of difference between catching and eating a rabbit that has had a relatively good life and raising and abusing animals that were born to die. I can't change your mind for you, Luna. I suppose that you really ARE supposed to eat meat, or at least for now you are. But I choose not to, and you can't tell me that I should. Not that you're SAYING that I should, I just mean that if people do stop eating meat, then that's supposed to happen, too. As for Christmas tree. . . haven't you ever heard of fake trees? That's what MY family has. It's lasted for eight years now, and not only has it saved trees, it's also saved us money.
P.S. I've heard that some tribes of Native Americans said grace not just to a God, but to the souls of the animals they ate. Maybe THAT would be a good experiment for you, Luna. . .

I can't change your mind for you, Ajennsis. I supposed that you really ARE supposed to eat me, or at least for now you are. Yet despite the fake tree, the same number of trees as before you used a fake one are still getting chopped down, so technically, a tree's not really being saved. I'm also not telling you that you have to eat meat; I respect your vegetarianism. If that's a word. However, I am only expressing my opinion that eating meat is really not such a bad thing. Besides, meat is healthy and gives you all kinds of nutrients in one thing rather than having to have substitues, etc. Meat is on the Food Pyramid and is recommended. There are substitutes to have to get protein, etc., but let's just leave it at: You eat what you eat, and I eat what I eat. That's all I have to say about this issue.
