I'm very freaked out at the moment. I'll go back into my OWN little world now. You just keep coming back, don't you Megz? I'd have thought you would have learned by now. Maybe it's some kind of Morbid fascination on your part, but I don't know.

Awww, I didn't find anything. I guess I'll just call myself a "coshire"...Ajennsis; the coshire; the semi-demi-vegetarian. Sound good?

Heh...A coshire...Is that going to get me laughed at? Hope not. I could never stand being vegan; eating just plants (which is what I'm pretty sure is all a vegan can have) I'd go insane in an hour. No, not quite the lack of meat, eggs, dairy, etc. but more the mentality of knowing that now I'll need a LOT more than 5 veggies in a day... If vegtables tasted better, I might become a vegetarian. As it is, meat is just too darn tasty. And vegetables are disgusting.

Truthfully, beans, rice, and tofu are more impotant to ANY type of vegeterian than vegetables are. If eating your vegetables were mandatory being a vegeterian, I wouldn't have made it three days no matter how determined I was!

By "coshire" do you mean "kosher"?
Kosher means that food is fit for a religious Jew to eat. All plant products are kosher and labelled as parve. Seafood which consists of plants or animals with backbones are considered parve, but all other seafood is never kosher. Eggs are also parve.
Dairy products are kosher, but not parve. They are their own category of strictly dairy.
Pork is never kosher. Other meat products can be kosher, but the animal must be slaughtered in a special fasion (I forgot the details ... probably more humane that the other common methods) and when prepared must be drained of all blood.
Also, you cannot eat dairy and meat in the same meal, and certainly not the same dish! You can't even eat them with the same utensils and plates. However parve may be consumed with either dairy or meat, or by itself.
During passover leavening and legumes are also forbidden for the religious Jew.
See why being a vegetarian, even if you're not vegan, makes being Kosher so much simpler?

I love oranges, pluots, pineapples, granny smith apples, strawberries, persimmons, limes, and much more! I also like the rice/beans/tofu foods, as well as the gluten foods, and much more. Some vegetables I like, some I don't. I like bell peppers, carrots, mushrooms (which are biologically closer to animals than plants), green beans, sometimes lettuce, spinach, and much more. I abhore celery, bannana (though it's a fruit), and that's all I can think of now

Well, a friend of mine says that she'd be entirely vegetarian, if it weren't for the fact that if she didn't eat fish, she'd get really sick. I think it's something about a lack of iron, and not eating iron pills, something like that...I don't exactly listen when she starts dragging on and on about her vegetarian-ism. Well, atleast she doesn't criticize me for not being vegetarian. Are eggs really meat, Lapin? I think they're just productions of an animal; like milk...Then again, there was a baby chicken inside those eggs (an embryo or an egg, something like that), but they were never going to be fertilized, so I don't really think it's wrong to eat eggs, is it? (Wow, I never thought watching 'The Magic Schoolbus' would pay off )

Technically, eggs are considered meat. And if only one could ensure that the chickens are free-range, eating eggs would be a fine practice (I do it simply because I don't have many alternatives). But the chickens who lay the eggs are often raised in an inhumane environment. At eggs factories as opposed to free-range farms, they get shoved into tiny little box thingies where their legs sometimes literally fall off from not being used. Their beaks are cut off and. . . Oh, here I go again. I better stop now.

Don't make me feel guilty about all those things I've eaten...Nah. I'm not that type of person (fortunately) so it doesn't phase me. That's a good thing, right? It means I'm just not vegetarian material.
