In the Advent Calendar animation, there are Baby Neopets ice skating. Awww, how cute, right? Well, the ice under a Baby Kau cracks and some type of huge fish (Or maybe the Snowager?) comes up and EATS it!
I find that very disturbing for a children's site....

It is quite disturbing, espacially at Christmas time. I think it was the snowager.

I agree completely. A lot of the advent calendar animations this year have been very un-christmasy in the love-and-caring department, but this one just takes the cake. It's horrible!

remember. neopets would say the same thing they said for the weird neogreeting and that petpet game "neopets was actually intended for a more mature audience, it just so happened that younger children are more attracted to the site, and we are still aiming at an older audience" bah humbug  poor kau |

Yeah. It's a children's a site when we want to kill off one of our characters or even MENTION a killing, for that matter. But when Neonuts has the temptation to show gory pictures it's a "mature site with a lot of kids playing it". Sometimes the hypocracy of it all is to much to bear. Excuse me while I go use my anger management worksheet.

Yeah, adorablelapin, send that in to the editorial. I will too. But streaming_blue, Neogreetings are only sent in e-mail and aren't meant for kids, and in Petpet Herder, you try to prevent the petpets from being eaten. But a BABY Neopet being eaten? On something like the Advent Calendar, for the whole site to see? That's sick.

but it wasn't gory.. all you saw was a snowager's mouth (i always thought they lived in caves) but then again.. if you were a vegetable.. you'd freak out every time you saw someone eat broccoli (okay it's noon and i haven't had my eats yet.. so blame that for the crayzee)

And, Leb, if someone looks up "friend" on neogreeting to try to find a neogreeting to send to their friend and accidently stumbles upon that gruesome "Bad Friends" greeting, what then? I'm not going to send my complaints into the editorial or the suggestions place from now on. I'm sending them to individual staff members. I have Donna's email address. *grins* |
