Well, I'm sure i could find plenty of exotic foods at the Chinese supermarket in my neighborhood. It's a little far, but I go there occasionally. They fertillized eggs where the chick it at the stage where it is just about to grow hard bones, as well as other foods Americans would consider "weird". However I NEVER want to see their seafood section every again .. you should see the conditions they put the live fish in.
When they were dropping food over Afganistan, at one village they had journalists write about the reactions of the people. They were amazed by peanut butter, and they were wondering what the hell it was. 'Course they were so hungry they couldn't be picky, so they ate it anyway, but the degree of weirdness in food is definitely in the eye (or tongue) of the beholder.

i'm not particularly fond of fruit except for the "normal" things.. or normal for me. berries, mandarins, apples, grapes, pineapples, lychees.. etc.. but i do hate bananas.. they make me gag. maybe cuz they're sticky and they leave that weird film on your teeth after but eew.. i'm not fond of that i like tofu. a lot of people hate it.. but i don't know why.. maybe if you get the non-smooth tofu.. it's a bit sour.. but i'm fine with it. personally JUST LIKE ME! I abhore banana, and I love tofu! I'd be a seafood person also, but the water around here is too polluted and overfished for it to be smart to eat it regularly...

I like salmon raw.
Anyway, this area is famous for seafood too. We supposedly have the best tasting crab in the world. Probably the crab with the highest mercury content, or if not the most, we're in the top ten.

I've had Biltong. It's good! I like beef jerky, but I make my own. The stuff that is sold is pretty dry, and I won't even bother with the "chopped & formed" junk. I am a bit of an experimenter, and have had buffalo jerky (when I was in colorado), and venison jerky (a friend gave me). I also have had "squid jerky" and "fish jerky". Or what I consider to be jerky. The beef jerky I make is my own marinade recipe, which I make up in a liter container. I soak the meat strips in it for several days, then put it in the dehydrator. It is a LOT of work, though, and I generally don't have the time to do it.

THAT is pretty disgusting. I never ate one, but a small asian market I used to go to in North Carolina had them, with BIG sign that read: "DO NOT TOUCH! If it breaks when you handle it, you bought it!" One of the egds exploded, and if you think an Easter egg is bad, found a couple weeks after Easter, this makes it smell like Glade air freshener. WHEW!!!!!

Can it beat Israeli snacks? Isreal makes snacks 5 times better than American snacks, but unfortunately most are not availible in America *sniff* Hammas (I doubt I spelled that right) is godly. It's a pity I can't find anywhere around here that makes it just right... I never eat any odd foods, I'm mostly normal. I eat anything except for veggies (Corn and potatoes are the exception) and cooked fish (but raw fish is my favorite). I'm partial to pocky. Best snack food ever made.

...snails. Mmm, tastey.
ARGH, I can taste something now. I think it's my blood, though, so that's a relief. Here are some things I enjoy from your lists.
- Sea Cucumber. I LOVE IT!! GIMME!!
- Cuttlefish/Squid. I think I'm in heaven!!! ^^^^^^
- I like Tofu. What's wrong with tofu? Me like every veggie except for tomatoes. XD
That's about it! ^^

And it's not a weird food, but I LOVE young, fresh coconut, right off the tree. Aww! I always wanted to make a coconut fall off a tree, crack it open, and drink the coconut milk inside!

There are two types of "gross food".
One is excotic foodie, and the other is disliked foodies. I thought it was number one, but meh!
I don't like bananas that much either. XP
Err... speaking of food... hi!

I had the chance to try one...well, I had six years to do so - but I prefer my food without feathers.
