(Hey all, I hope I'm not too late to join in)
Character bios
Just like any other typical wocky, Eevee had a heart for adventure. In his childhood he loved to hear stories of great heroes, epic battles, and courageous deeds; in addition he had a passion for exploration and loved finding hidden treasures. Eevee always dreamed of being on an adventure; a dream that was fulfilled many times over the past 16 years. He's been through wars, he has been on treasure hunts, and he's had his fair share of narrow escapes. Eevee enjoys his life as an adventurer and he is always on the lookout for a new one. Eevee is very agile and he has excellent sword fighting skills.
Of course, a good adventurer is never without at least one companion. Eevee's been on several adventures and in every one of them he was accompanied by his best friend, Zapphire Sky the zafara. Zapphire is not only Eevee's best friend, but she was the first friend he ever had. The same can be said of Zapphire also; Eevee is her best friend and he was the first friend she ever had. While she doesn't have the same heart for adventure that Eevee does, Zapphire does enjoy all the adventures they go on together. She's not as agile as Eevee but Zapphire is a good, strong fighter.
Vitus is usually a very timid bori and very little is known about his childhood. However, he is a great friend and he is very gifted in his magical abilities. He is a self-taught potion maker, and he is a great accomplice to Eevee and Zapphire on their adventures.

((Of course not, Kozma! Welcome!))
Those guards had been hesitant to let the three of them in, but as soon as one saw Saeryennan, there was no denying that this was the Princess of Altador. They walked into the castle.
Now that they were here...hmm...
"I think I should tell King Skarl about what I saw," Saeryennan said as she began to walk forward.
"And I'll see if I can find the Lupe you saw," Caylin added as she flew off in search of him, not listening to Saeryennan's insisting that he would not be here because he was a younger King Altador. Caylin knew he was not, he was just another White Lupe.
Scanning the country from above, she soon spotted a young Lupe talking to a Xweetok. She flew downward. The Lupe was yellow, not white, and this wasn't a knight at all. She was a little girl. But wait - was that -
She had to find out. Caylin flew lower and took a look in the window of the house of which the Xweetok, who looked like a ninja, was standing in the doorway. Sure enough, another Lupe, a white one, caught her eye. He looked like a knight.
Caylin touched the ground and walked over politely to the Xweetok.
"Excuse me, miss," she said, 'but I believe there's someone here I need to speak to."

Akasha bit her lip, brows furrowing as she leaned over the small shrub. Planted in the barren soil of the Citadel's gardens, the pathetic little plant began to perk up and bud as the earth spell she had placed on it took effect "Yes, come on..." Akasha grinned, "Grow!" As soon as the word left her mouth, the spell fizzled and the shrub withered. "I don't get it." The white korbat sank to the ground, pulling at one of the leaves. "Fresh water, some of the best soil from Meridell, magic. Nothing works...or maybe I didn't cast the spell right. Or maybe it was too simple..."
She suddenly lurched towards the shrub, grabbing and furiously shaking its feeble branches, "WHY WON'T YOU GROW!?"
Akasha pulled her ears back as her voice echoed throughout the eerily quiet garden.
"You're wasting your time, 'Kasha."
Akasha jumped up, whirling around to see an older korbat. "Nitrez. What are you doing here?"
Nitrez leaned against the wall of the garden, "I should be asking you the same thing. It's early morning and you should be asleep, not out here casting silly spells."
"I'm not tired and those spells aren't silly. That plant was alive...for a second. I'm on to something!"
Nitrez sighed, "This place is cursed. Simple earth magic cast by some beginner isn't going to help anything. Honestly, I'd hope you would have more sense than that. Just leave the casting up to Darigan; he knows far more about it than you or I. You can assist in other ways...after you get some sleep."
Akasha scowled at Nitrez, "I told you I wasn't tired!"
"Well get out of here, then. Go get some fresh air or something down in Meridell. Maybe it'll help your mood..."
Akasha huffed and brushed past her old friend, "Fine. Later..." She spread her wings and took to the air, gliding towards the kingdom below.
((Nitrez is just an old 'friend' of Akasha's. He's a very minor character and I doubt I'll be using him any more. If he happens to pop up, I'll post a bio.))

Eevee knew many things about adventure and one of the most important things he knew about it was that it could show up anywhere at any time. Eevee also knew that in order to find adventure, you didn't just wait around for it to show up, you had to seek it. Of course, when you're seeking adventure you don't just wait for one to show and then go to it, you have to find it and go to it before it starts. Eevee was always seeking his next adventure, so whenever and wherever there seemed to be some interesting activity starting to occur somewhere in Neopia, Eevee was there ready for his next great adventure.
Given all this, it's no surprise that when rumors of strange activity in Meridell began to flourish, Eevee quickly packed up his adventure gear and traveled to the frequently troubled kingdom. Never one to let her best friend travel alone, Zapphire had also found herself in Meridell with her adventure gear on hand. Vitus, not wanting to be left out and left alone had also tagged along, bringing with him a bunch of magic and potion-making supplies. Eevee didn't mind having these two come along with him; one of the most important things he knew about adventure was that it was best to share it your friends.
When the arrived in Meridell, Eevee, Zapphire, and Vitus noticed that the kingdom seemed to have more visitors than usual. "Could be some sort of festival going on," stated Vitus.
"Indeed," replied Zapphire, a little worried. "I hope the inns aren't gonna be full; I don't feel like camping out again, not after that night in Altador with all those Mozitoes.
"There should be some rooms left," Eevee declared. "But if we want to get one, we'd best be getting to the inn now. I doubt they'll have vacancies by this afternoon." With that, the three friends headed off for one of the inns in Meridell, hoping that it would be able to provide them with a room for what would be their next adventure.

"So?" Nemo asked for about the fourth time. The spotted Kougra scowled at his companion and tapped his claws against the dirt. He wasn't expecting Howler to answer; he had ignored Nemo's three previous "so?"s.
But this time, the Lupe lifted his muzzle from the ground. His pure-red eyes did not give away emotion easily, but Nemo knew to look to the cant of Howler's ears and tail, for tiny clues in his stature and bearing. What he saw there didn't seem right for this place, a stretch of peaceful pine forest pockmarked with bird song and bushes of colorful berries.
"I don't know what it is, Nemo," the Lupe said in deep tones. "It smells like other monsters, but I cannot place which."
"Somehow I don't think it's any of the ones you've fought," Nemo suggested. "But it's clearly heading north - and Meridell is all of twenty minutes away."
Howler nodded slowly. "I wonder if perhaps King Hagan knew this when he set me on this trail."
Nemo's eyes narrowed. "Does it matter?" The spotted Kougra couldn't believe how devoted Howler was to Brightvale's king. He himself didn't quite trust authority. Not after his life.
"I suppose not," Howler said, with no sign that he had heard Nemo's growled annoyance. "A monster that can hide in Meridell is going to be deceptive. Unless we run into a great deal of screaming, I think we'll have to stay in town and investigate.
"Fantastic," Nemo muttered. "Well...we might as well get this over with."
Howler pulled up the hood of his red cloak. It wouldn't do an even close to perfect job of hiding his mixed heritage, but at least only a few pets would notice the glowing red eyes, the jutting tusks, and the dual-toned fur at once. It was the Lupe who led the way toward town, and the slender Kougra who followed, frowning, in his wake.

Miraja turned around to look at the Faerie. "Well, if you're looking to speak with Hunter, he's bathing in the steam-powered shower Vulcan rigged up. I'm Miraja, and this," she gestured to Sirocco, who was eating a few slices of Qando bread, "is Sirocco."
Sirocco waved, since he was too polite to talk with his mouth full.

Caylin smiled at the Xweetok and couldn't help but giggle a bit at the Skunk Zafara. She meant no harm, though. There was just something about him that reminded her of Calphurnia. Was it how enthusiastically he was eating his pita?
"I'm Caylin," she said. "And if Hunter is the White Lupe who lives here, I can wait. I just think that the Princess of Altador needs to see him."

"The princess of Altador? I think she and my little sisters had a play date once..." Miraja walked back into the house and welcomed Caylin in. "Just be careful with the chairs; everyone who lives here except for Vulcan and I are taller than most Faeries, soooooooo...." Miraja smiled sheepishly, forgetting that Faeries could change their size.
Sirocco kicked back and washed down some of the bread with a canteen of grog. "So, how's Xandra doing? I hope she's not mad after our last get-together ended with some members of Masila's guild trying to kill me..."

((Caylin, not Calphurnia))
"Xandra's just fine." Caylin laughed as she sat down in one of the smaller chairs. "She says you were lucky she was there."
Meanwhile, Saeryennan and Xandra had learned that apparently, King Skarl was busy and could not talk to them right now.
"I think we should go find Caylin," Xandra said. "I believe she's still looking for your Lupe. And no, it's not your father, Saery," she added before the Cybunny could protest. Xandra grabbed Saeryennan's hand and whisked her out of the castle.
After about a half-hour of wandering, Xandra's eyes caught sight of Caylin going into a cottage. Still holding tightly onto the princess's hand, she sprinted up to the door and looked at the Yellow Lupe who was still standing there.
"Excuse me, little one," she said, "but I thought I saw an Earth Faerie enter here. Did she?"

"Yes, ma'am!" Saly and Mr. Spooked replied at the same time with a big smile on their faces, Saly's teeth were all very white and bright, Mr. Spooked's were glowing and blue, not the most pleasant scene to watch.
"She was looking for the owner of the cottage, I suppose! his name was Hunter, right?" Saly asked her mutant friend, who was suddenly very still. "Hello? Anyone in there?" The lupe waved her paw in front of the acara's face.
"I am, I just felt..suddenly, sad. Scared." Mr. Spooked shivered, the glow of his eyes fading a bit. "I had a bad feeling when I noticed the Citadel...that's all."

"Thank you," Xandra said before walking into the cottage. Saeryennan, however, had had enough of this. She didn't know who lived here, but it wasn't King Altador. She would just have to head back to the castle and wait until Skarl wasn't busy. What could he be busy with, anyway? Last Saeryennan had heard, he did nothing but eat and get mad at people. She bolted the second Xandra's back was turned.
As she approached the castle, she noticed another pet headed in the same direction. From a distance she couldn't tell if it was a Xweetok or a Kyrii, but as she came closer, she knew that it was definitely a Xweetok, a red one. Saeryennan made a beeline for the drawbridge and in doing so accidentally bumped into the other pet, knocking both of them over.
"Oh!" she cried out before getting up. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry! Do you need any help?"
She extended her paw for the Xweetok to grab on to.

"Well, if it isn't my favorite sorceress!" Sirocco got up and took Xandra's hand, pulling her close to him. "Sorry about our last date. Masila's placed a bounty on my head for stealing the Shooting Stardust." He showed her his twin daggers, which were as black as the void of space, but seemed to shine at the edges like stars. "I had Vulcan weld it into my daggers after the Hands broke; he made them look like my old sickle-daggers, too."
Miraja rolled her eyes. "Enough chit-chat, Sirocco. Xandra and Caylin are here to see Hunter, and-"
Hunter walked down the stairs in his armor, his wet fur over his eyes. "I heard all of this from upstairs. Sorry I'm late, I have to keep up with grooming like my father taught me." He moved his fur away from his eyes and extended his paw to Caylin, and then looked at the two younger Neopians. "Another Lupe? And some sort of... Mutant?"

Akasha's feet hit the ground just outside of Meridell City. She tucked her wings against her back and walked through the gates. People were bustling around, doing their morning duties or opening shops. The place smelled of sweet bread and ripe fruit from the stands...and farm petpets...
Akasha frowned as her stomach gave her a rude reminder that she had neglected to eat anything within the last day or so. She honestly couldn't remember the last time she had eaten, having been so caught up in her work.
...All that work and no progress. Bah! And there that stupid jerk Nitrez was telling her to "get some sleep" or "get some fresh air" or, hah, her favorite was "your efforts are needed elsewhere." Right. There were already many, many Darigani people working to rebuild the place and only a small handful of others worked with magical restoration of the Citadel. Akasha knew that was crucial. She wanted to be a part of that--to be one of the ones that helped return the Citadel to its former glory...
"Um, yes, miss?"
Akasha snapped out of her thoughts and looked up, finding herself in front of a fruit stand. "Oh..." She picked up a single apple and paid for it, "Thank you." She turned and walked away quickly. Well, that was embarrassing. Maybe Nitrez' was right. For once. Sleep would be nice...
Just as she made her way out of the city and prepared to take off, she was knocked to the ground. The slight jingle of coins and the beating of wings were heard. When she looked up, a hooded draik was making off with what little money she had. "Stop!" She yelled and got up quickly, following, "Thief!!"

Xandra laughed as Sirocco pulled her to his side.
"Oh, it's okay," she giggled. "I understand. I've had more than my fair share of someone wanting revenge on me..."
Caylin smiled at the Lupe and shook his hand.
"My name's Caylin," she said. "I am - was - in the service of the great Queen Miarra, before her daughter overthrew her. I'm here because the Princess Saeryennan of Altador had a prophetic vision of Meridell and a White Lupe Knight. I'm guessing it's you."
"See Saery, we found - Saery?" Xandra's eyes darted from side to side.
Saeryennan was nowhere to be found.
Giving a frustrated sigh, she turned back to Sirocco, letting go of his paw.
"It appears our princess has fled the scene," she groaned. "I'm sorry, but I have to go look for her."
Xandra knew Saeryennan would have headed for the castle. She began to walk toward there, but then she saw a hooded figure knock over a White Korbat and fly off, followed by the Korbat.
Just as the hooded figure passed over her, Xandra sent a bolt of energy at its wings, hoping to make it teeter and land safely on the ground, but not able to fly again. She guessed that it had stolen something from the Korbat.

Akasha saw a bolt of energy hit the draik, who teetered to the ground. The thief stumbled and fell as his feet touched the earth, giving Akasha the opportunity to catch up to him. She landed beside him, jerking her money pouch from his hand. "You no good lousy-" She grit her teeth and gave him a swift kick in the side, "Piece of dung!"
The thief wheezed and scrambled up, dodging a shot that Akasha took at his head. He stepped back as she did it again, and again. He took the opportunity to turn and run while Akasha was blindly swinging at him, "Crazy woman! You aren't worth that pathetic little bit of coin!" He called back to her as he fled behind a building.
Akasha fell on her backside, exhausted. She opened her pouch and counted it's contents. Everything was still there. She looked over to where the bolt had come from to see a speckled xweetok. "T-thank you. Hey, wait a minute..." She stood up and rubbed her eyes, "Are you...?"
