Hi friends! Recently I was feeling a bit Directionless, as ya do, and tried to think of something I could do that felt Purposeful. Ended up getting back into Duolingo, and it turns out it's better than ever??? =O At least some of the modules have little stories attached you can work through now, which is nice. Also there's a Maori language module in the incubator, and I cannot WAIT for that one to be released!!!
But for now, I'm just working through the Italian tree, and I thought it could be nice to make a little fanclub here for anyone who uses Duolingo to chat and keep each other motivated! =) Dunno how popular it is these days, but worth a shot!

I use it! Mainly for learning French and practicing my Scottish Gaelic. It's fun, although I find it can be kind of limited at times.

The Italian module has definitely improved since I last used the site! But I'm not so concerned with fluency anyway, this is just a fun Thing I like doing in my free time (I'm under no illusions I would become fluent from Duolingo. xD I'll try harder with Maori, but there are lots of other resources I can use locally to supplement that.)
Some of the stories are very cute. I read one yesterday about a woman going on a honeymoon with her wife, made me very happy.

I've been taking German lessons since a couple years ago for academic purproses and I use Duolingo as a complement. I also have started other Duolingo courses but I paused them because reaching a good level in German is my main priority ATM. I'd like to continue with Esperanto after I'm done with German since it's so easy and cool haha. I also like the Stories module, it helps to break routine a bit :^)

I used it for a while for Japanese. If you say it's better than ever, maybe I should check it out again, haha.

Well, I'm keeping up pretty well! Using a weekend amulet for this weekend, so I won't lose my streak, but I'm in the sapphire league right now and that's like...a good!

Using this for French and Scottish Gaelic (I've finished the tree but I need to keep practicing). It's a nice thing to do that makes me feel like I am learning. I am noticing small improvements in my language skills, but I wish I could do more.

I really want the Māori tree to be available properlike! Right now I'm just working on Italian. I haven't finished the tree, because I have a tendency to use this for a few months and then...give up and have to start all over when I return. xD

Decided to start this today on Japanese and checked my current level since I already took 3 units in college. I was doing so well until it asked me to construct a sentence in Japanese and then I bombed the solution, haha.

Aww no!
I find listening exercises the trickiest, I always have to listen to it again multiple times on the slowest speed (I'm working through Italian, not Japanese, though.)

Ah well, it was only the test to check my level.
The hiragana exercises are gonna be like a review for me. I'm interested in Italian too though.

listening comprehension is basically the hardest part of language.

It doesn't help that I usually have duolingo-time in the evening, when I am tired. xD Also I turn off the listening and speaking exercises way more often than I should. That too.

I used it to practice my Spanish... and I'd be down for trying that again. Maybe more so in December? But yeah, yaaaay Spanish! 8D Eventually I'll get back to Central and South America.

my personal strat for spanish is to get words from other languages then add "ito" to the end of it
"catito" or "chatito" or "qitito" is basically the same as "gato" right?
