The Uffnewt Weather Station had not been having a particularly good week so far. One of its weathermen had been seen on television that morning, surrounded by mounds of papers, weather maps linked with red thread, and levitating scale models made out of cotton balls, while he manically pulled out his hair before flinging several stacks of paper into the air all at once, screaming, “And tomorrow’s weather is an Err Bearnado! Sure! Great! Fine! Heck if I know!”
It wasn’t really necessarily a problem with weather forecasting tools; it was just that the weather in the town of Uffnewt had been...remarkably haphazard of late.
It had started innocently enough. Four days ago, on a lazy spring morning, the sky had suddenly rained glitter like it was a child’s birthday party, coating the gardens and streets in clinging craft supplies. Uffnewt’s residents, accustomed in many capacities to strange and unusual magic, merely found the glitter rain rather novel at best and a minor annoyance at worst. The particularly happy-go-lucky ones held impromptu dance parties under the glitter rain, or grabbed broom and dustpan and gathered buckets to send to friends and rivals alike.
The following day, water was drawn directly up from out of the ground, and the whole town suffered from a torrential up-pour. Uffnewt’s residents still managed to roll with it, as it was, at least, just water. There were a few casualties among garden gnomes, but nothing that couldn’t be fixed with a bit of TLC.
The third day brought a blizzard that swept through town in a matter of hours before leaving scorching heat in its wake. And while this had been a little more difficult, it was still mostly manageable if you wore a lot of varied layers or used a personal thermostat charm when you chanced going outdoors.
The fourth day, by some accounts, had been very short-lived. This was because the sun rose promptly in the morning as it should--and then promptly set about an hour later. It then came up and went down so many times in swift succession that most of the town’s residents had lost track, and day and night had now lost their distinction. It would sometimes be dawn or dusk for several hours at random, or light and darkness would marble the atmosphere in strange swirls. It had done horrors to the residents’ sleep schedule and productivity, especially to the few eccentrics who had returned to sundials for their timekeeping.
By general consensus, the town just couldn’t take this for much longer. But what can you do about a bouncing sun and sparkly rain and indecisive clouds, when they’re aggravating and exhausting and just plain bonkers?
......YOU CAN COMPLAIN, THAT’S WHAT. Complain to your neighbors, friends, even the people you mailed glitter bombs to on Tuesday! What on earth is going on?!

Ray Nextpected, weatherman for the Uffnewt Weather Station, sulked out of the office, leaving a trail of paper scraps in his wake-- then returned inside with a grumble to properly recycle them, before heading back to his sulking. He glared at a passing family of Err Bears, who were not keen to conglomerate into raging storms as he forecasted, but instead were returning to their burrows for a second round of hibernation. They were, fortunately for him, too done with everything to even posture back at him. He found the nearest bench and plopped himself down onto it, and began to laugh, without much humor, as he gazed blankly at the marbled sky above. His reverie was broken by a lizard materializing on his head. He screamed. The second he was done screaming (which lasted some time) he stood up from the bench, tiny lizard feet firmly rooted in his hair, and paced away. Passersby reported hearing the weatherman say monotonously, “Next on the forecast, meatballs. I don’t know anymore. Giant truck-sized meatballs, being driven by Meepits...” and “...Tomorrow, snow globes coming to life to devour us all. Or not. They might sing opera. You heard it here, folks, opera-singing snowglobes coming to you from 8 in the ‘Woo-darn morning, whenever that is, until sunset. Possibly a hair-icaine. Get your lint rollers…” Disgruntled weatherman, Ray Nextpected, ragequits the weatherstation, stares down some Err Bears, and sits down outside. A lizard materializes on his head, so he screams and walks off, droning improbable weather forecasts.

“Evi, I’m telling you, it’s chaos at the weather station.” While fiddling with her umbrella, a young Rachel Leewind walked along the streets while continuing to complain. The local weather had been making every weatherperson’s job at the Uffnewt Weather Station that much harder. Who knew what would be coming next for the town? Rachel ran her fingers through her hair. She looked at her fingers and palm to see glitter pellets on them. She sighed and shook her head vigorously. There was still glitter in her hair from the first weather phenomena. Of course she had to go out and see it for herself, but if only she thought to take her umbrella out in the excitement. “I even heard Ray quit his job,” she continued. “I didn’t see it myself, but I heard about it earlier today. I can’t say I blame him. All of this recent weather defies all logic. Like glitter! All of this! Stupid! Glitter!” Rachel's job has been getting a lot harder and she needs to vent, so off she goes complaining to Evi ( RielCZ ). Who knows, maybe some others can hear her ranting about the glitter. Dang glitter.

"That sounds insane," replied Evi R. as he walked alongside Rachel. "I mean, he's been the weather guy for a while... And he just snapped in only 4 days? Or days... ish?" He shook his head. "Still, he must be having it rough." But then he elbowed her teasingly. "Maybe it's time for a promotion for you, eh?" He met Rachel when he photographed her at his home studio, working on her portfolio for her job application to the Uffnewt Weather Station. He had since accepted a full-time position at the local chic fashion / tabloid magazine, "Not The Wildest Flower", but still did some personal projects and some commission work in his spare time. He whipped out his camera and took a photo of her whipping glitter out of her hair. He looked at it through the screen, and her hair practically flowed. A shiny, glittery golden flow. Nice. Evi then took a few others, of the objects and buildings still a little glittery, wet, snowy, and heat-cracked, made even better by the weird shadows caused by the seemingly random day-night cycles. Yes, this was his work camera, but it was higher quality than his personal one and he was sure Not The Wildest Flower wouldn't mind. "This is some real crazy stuff," he said to Rachel, and any other passersby. Evi talks to Rachel ( Rabbit ♠ ) and takes a few photographs of the craziness, which he complains about to her and whomever else might be nearby.

"This is getting ridiculous!" Norma Schoolchild, a teenaged girl with bright blonde pigtails, scowled out her bedroom window at the sky. It was no secret that the weather had been more than a little bizarre lately, but now it had been hovering between day and night for several hours too long. It seemed like whatever—or whoever—was causing this strange weather was now trying to take away the sun. And that was something Norma couldn't stand for. "I can't stand idle any longer," she said, turning to face the golden retriever sitting on her bed. "Don't you agree, Sundrop?" Sundrop stared wordlessly back at her, panting happily. "Exactly! It's time to take action!" Norma reached into her backpack, pulling out a golden pencil with a sun-shaped eraser. She raised it into the air, crying out, "Oh Sun, bringer of light! Lend me your power!" Suddenly, the pencil began to glow with a brilliant light. Upbeat music played from seemingly nowhere as Norma's outfit was magically replaced with a frilly white and yellow dress, a big red bow tied around her waist, and a golden tiara on her head. The pencil transformed into an ornate wand with a sun-shaped tip, which Norma twirled in the air proudly. "Bringing the light of truth and justice! I am Princess Sunshine!" Sundrop barked. "That's right, Sundrop! It's time to put an end to this wacky weather!" Princess Sunshine proclaimed while striking a pose. "Whatever's causing this will face the wrath of the sun!" With that, she climbed out of her bedroom window and took to the streets. There had to be clues somewhere, some way to solve this mystery. And Princess Sunshine was here to shed light on it! Another girl waved to her as she passed by. "Hey, Norma." "...What? No! I'm Princess Sunshine!" "Yeah, okay." The other girl rolled her eyes. "Crazy weather lately, huh?" "Yeah! I'm about to get to the bottom of it!" "If you say so. Have fun!" Norma huffed, continuing on her way. Stupid Sally from school, so disrespectful. Princess Sunshine had done several good deeds—helping old ladies cross the street, cleaning up litter from the local parks, and even donating to local charities. Didn't anyone even care? Well, this will be the one for sure, she told herself. I'll find out what's causing this crazy weather, and I'll put a stop to it. Then they'll know I'm a hero!As she made her way through the town, shaking wet glitter from her boots, she spotted two people nearby—one of them looked like a cameraman, and the other was a local weather lady. Perfect! Maybe they had some information. "Hey! Hey hey hey!" she shouted, running over and waving her arms in the air to get their attention. "I'm investigating this crazy weather phenomenon. Any leads on what's been causing this?" PFA might have a magical girl problem! This one is very flashy and might actually suck. But she's going to do her best to solve this weather crisis! She approaches Rachel ( Rabbit ♠) and Evi ( RielCZ) and asks if they have any idea what's been causing it.

(Evi's parts are written by RielCZ ) There Evi went about a promotion again. Rachel couldn’t help but chuckle. He was always looking out for her. While a promotion would be nice, she thought it was tasteless to go after it right after Ray quit. Though, if she were to figure out why the weather had been acting like this, it could be beneficial to her career... Just as Rachel opened her mouth to say something, a small girl came running up to the couple. She was shorter, had pigtails, frilly dress… She looked like she was a kid. Rachel’s face dimmed when the girl asked about the weather. As if she had any idea. Thankfully Evi responded first, giving her a bit of time to think of a dignified response. "Hey!" replied Evi as he looked her up and down. This wasn't the oddest thing he'd seen lately. Not even close, really. "Unfortunately, my best bet is as good as yours. Maybe even not as good." He glanced at Rachel, as though she might have some answer -- he really didn't expect her to, but maybe this girl would have illuminated something for her. “I..,” Rachel began, “don’t think so. Nobody knows what’s going on. I have just as much as a clue as you do.” She shrugged, paced, and twirled her umbrella. “Like, look at the sky. How is that even possible? Not to mention the stupid glitter.” She shook her head. “Don’t mind me. I’m sure I’ll get things taken care of…” Rachel hesitated, “...I’m sorry, what is your name?” Evi turned back toward the bright frilly one. "And are you some sort of detective?" He asked. "Investigating this weather and all?" And then he scrutinized her a bit further. "Wait... didn't I do the photographs at your school earlier this year?" Otherwise known as Riel and Rabbit try to figure out who posts next and this is the best solution. XD Rachel muses about the possibilities this weather can bring to her when Princess Sunshine ( PFA ) comes up and asks. Rachel and Evi remain clueless. And Evi think he saw Princess Sunshine during picture day. Fun.

"There, there, my poor darlings, it's going to be alright. This weather will clear up soon, don't you forget it," Aggie murmured to her plants as she stroked their leaves, brushing bits of stray glitter off as she did so. Behind her, she heard a sad 'uh-oo'. "It has been wreaking havoc on your hunting too, hasn't it, H-oolong? You poor dear. I am going to get you a snack to tide you over during this very stressful period," she said, turning around and giving the tawny owl perched on the windowbox a scratch. "And you too, Purr-eh." The chubby cat at her feet gave a meow before swatting at some glitter. It got stuck in her thick black fur, making her keep grooming herself. "In fact, why don't we all have a snack? A lovely bit of cake along with a nice cup of tea." There was only so much she could do for her poor tea plants after all, given the insanity that was going on. With that, Aggie went back inside her cottage, removed her floral print green garden gloves and put the kettle on. Whirling about the kitchen, she dug into her cupboard. "What do you think, H-oolong, Purr-eh? We definitely need either white or black tea to soothe us during this mad time period. Perhaps some Yingdehong for some comfort, or White Peony white tea to relax us? Oh, so many choices!" Eventually, Aggie selected the Yingdehong. She waved her hands and the tea sprung out of its mason jar and into a teapot. The kettle rose, boiled at just the right temperature and carefully, delicated poured water from a great height into the pot. All she had to do was click her fingers and it was stewed to perfection. She scooped up the kettle and poured it into several teacups, setting them out on the table, where, miraculously, cakes and biscuits were waiting. All were suited to the taste of a cat, an owl and a human. Such was Aggie's magic. Aggie, full name Agatha, had turned her scant magic towards tea. For she was the Tea Witch. After they had finished their tea and both H-oolong and Purr-eh helped her with the dishes, Aggie contemplated what to do next. Normally she would be out there tending to her plants but there was only so much one could do with this terrible, insane weather. Weather.. "Oh, those poor dears at the weather station must be loosing their minds!" she clapped her hands together. "Perhaps I ought to bring them some tea and cake to cheer them up. What do you think, H-oolong, Purr-eh?" The owl and the pussycat seemed to nod. Aggie took that as a sign of approval. She packed a wicker basket full of sandwiches, biscuits and even a sponge cake, as well as her enchanted teapot which would stay warm no matter what. With that hanging off her arm, she stepped outside with her familairs in tow. Meet Agatha, AKA Aggie, AKA the Tea Witch, along with her familiars, the owl H-oolong and the cat Purr-eh. She is having a tough time with her garden due to this insane weather but is staying positive thanks to tea and cake. Deciding to spread the positivity, she heads out to the weather station with goodies in tow.

Nearby, a girl with a top hat atop mousey blonde hair practiced shuffling cards. She shuffled them forwards, and backwards, and fanned them out, and only dropped them a couple of times. Not bad; she was still working on card tricks. Finally, satisfied with the shuffling, she offered them to a satchel sitting on the ground. "Pick a card. Any card." The bag stood there, like an inanimate object. "Taffy?" she questioned. There was no reply from what was apparently candy, presumably in the bag. The girl opened the satchel further, peering inside, but apparently the candy was not to be found, for next she pulled off her top hat and set it on the ground. She grabbed a magician's wand from her jacket pocket, waved it around the hat a few times, and then reached inside. She pulled a Guinea Pig out of the hat. "Ta-Da!" said the girl, looking around to see if anyone saw. This was her best trick, after all. Jess practices shuffling cards "nearby" (to whom? I'm flexible! Anyone is welcome to be nearby!). She performs her very best magic trick, pulling her Guinea Pig Taffy out of a hat. Hopefully someone saw, it was very impressive after all.

Sherrie wasn't sure why she kept tuning in to watch the weather report on TV. It was clear that whatever would happen was unpredictable at this point, but still, she hoped for good news. The first glitter rain, while annoying for some, had been delightful for her. She had been inadvertently caught under it on her way to work at the salon, but when she got there and caught a glimpse of herself in the big mirrors, she had been enthralled at the effect. Her already striking bubblegum pink hair seemed to glisten magically with that coat of glitter on top. Sherrie worked as a hairstylist, and there was nothing she enjoyed more than getting to dye her clients' hair bright colors like hers. It was her specialty. Word around town was that if you got your hair colored by Sherrie, it would keep growing the same color for a while before your roots finally showed again. Of course, most people walked in just asking for a trim, or a fancy hairdo for a special occasion, or things of that sort. But still, she did her best to have fun. And the weather lately, save for that first day, hadn't been very conductive for fun, but rather came with disastrous consequences for anyone's hair! Up-pour ruined hairdos as much (or more!) as downpours did, heat damage was no joke, not to mention how hard it was to pull off day-long bed hair! What a catastrophe! She turned off the TV, decided she wanted to go out for a walk instead to take her mind off of things and brighten her spirits. She jogged towards the park, but Uffnewt wasn't exactly a large town, and as coincidence would have it, she walked right past Ray, the local weatherman, while he muttered some things. She didn't catch everything he was saying, but one word pierced her ears and made her stop in her tracks. "Wait, did you say a hair-icaine? You're not serious, are you?" Meet Sherrie, a hairstylist with bubblegum pink hair and a vibrant personality to match, hopefully! She watches the weather report on TV, but decides to turn it off and go for a walk instead. During her walk, she overhears Ray ( Pixie ) mention a hair-icaine and is alarmed!

Cassidy Clarion had left Uffnewt for several months, having found a monastery with kind clerics willing to help her hone the seed of healing magic within her. She returned for a much-needed vacation just in time for the weather to go haywire. The glitter she didn't mind much, although she overworked her broom getting rid of the excess and leaving just enough of the sparkly stuff to add a zing to her small cottage. Cassidy had no gnomes to suffer from the up-pour of water, and she actually had fun trying to catch some of the water as it was drawn upward. The blizzard and the scorching heat simply made her shut her doors and hole herself up inside to read books and wonder just what was going on. It was almost as if Uffnewt was reacting to her return. But that's silly, really. So far, she had found nothing, not even anything to explain the temperamental sun. But at least she could go outside now without worrying about the blizzards. And that was exactly what she did. Cassidy was a young woman with long black hair braided with shiny ribbons, and wore a blue jacket over a long purple dress. Stuck in the sash was a pewter-colored wand. Her dark brown eyes were sullen, but occasionally drawn to the slightest thing that interested her. And today, she was drawn to a girl in a top hat pulling a Guinea Pig out of her hat with a flourish, after some taps of what seemed to be a magic wand. "Ta-Da!" the mousy-haired girl proclaimed, and Cassidy could not help but clap her hands and smile despite the mood weighing on her thanks to the kooky weather phenomena. Perhaps it was real magic, perhaps it was just like those card tricks people liked to demonstrate on the streets. Either way, the sleight of hand was impressive. "Well done," she told the girl, and she meant it. "What's your name? Are you practicing for a show?" And if there was more than sleight of hand involved, perhaps the girl might have some answers for Cassidy. Cassidy is walking outside, trying to find any clues about this weather phenomenon, when she meets Jess ( June Scarlet) and sees her performing magic tricks. Then she stops to applaud and ask for the girl's name.

From the heavy curtains of her apartment window, a young woman peeked out to the small town of Uffnewt. The sunlight that poked through and washed across her face provided no bath of warmth, though, and she pushed away the outside again with a flick of the curtain. The current light was cold comfort knowing it could disappear at any moment. Gibi walked over to her closet, bundling up with an oversized cardigan. Regardless of the weather outside, she always seemed to run a colder temperature than her surroundings. That, and perhaps Gibi just felt more comfortable the more she was covered. Much like her dim room, right now she felt it better to stay in the dark, hidden. It's normal to feel a sense of unease now and then, that gut feeling that something may be amiss. An instinctual reaction all people have based on their current circumstances to let them know when might be a good time to flee. Gibi knew this feeling as well, having been in a less than ideal situation or two just like everyone else. Her senses seemed to go beyond just normal instincts, though. Even when the world around her was normal and no one else had a care to worry about, sometimes Gibi still got that sense of unease. That dread that something bad might happen soon. It never told her specifically what or when, but sometimes she felt it for herself or someone else she knew. Not that having this sense caused her distress; she was used to it. It was just this sense combined with everything happening in the outside world that kept her curtains closed and person covered. Gibi had had this foreboding feel nonstop in the days leading up to the odd weather patterns, which was unusual in of itself. Usually the feeling passed after a short period, so such a long time of it sticking around could only mean something big coming. Now, with each day bringing something new and potentially dangerous, Gibi couldn't tell if what she was feeling was that same premonition, or just the instinctual fear one would have living in an unstable environment. It didn't prove promising towards the future, at least, if what she had been feeling hasn't changed yet. Gibi is at home thinking about the strange weather patterns. She has always had a gift of premonitions, specifically for future unfortunate occurrences, so with everything going on, it's been rather difficult to function when all you feel is dread for both the present and near future.

Neither of them seemed to know anything about what was causing the strange weather. They did, however, ask who she was, bringing a grin to the girl's face. "Me? I am the light that shines upon darkness!" She struck a pose, holding her wand proudly in the air. "I am Princess Sunshine, and I vow to do whatever it takes to protect the peace and happiness of this town!" "Wait... didn't I do the photographs at your school earlier this year?""N-no! Maybe! That's not important!" Princess Sunshine frowned, crossing her arms over her chest. "Anyway, this weather just seems too strange to be natural. Something sinister is afoot, I can feel it!" Princess Sunshine gives a dramatic intro to Rachel ( Rabbit ♠) and Evi ( RielCZ), then tells them of her suspicions of something sinister behind the crazy weather.

A tiny bell rung as an old printer hummed to life and began clattering out several lines of text. Larry Nareda the air traffic controller waited patiently for the task to complete and then tore the sheet at the next perforated joint. It was of course, the hourly METAR; a jumble of alphanumeric text that seemed decipherable to anyone who didn't know what it was. The controller looked at it and frowned. It was going to be another weird day. He stood alone in the control tower of Uffnewt's small regional airport. Small was the understatement of the century, a tiny terminal serving only 5 gates, barely a dozen daily flights operated from its single runway. Small airport, small aircraft. Mostly small prop powered commuter planes and the occasional jet. The controller usually worked alone, there were others, but they worked the days he did not. However, these small craft were the most vulnerable to adverse weather conditions, and the weather had certainly been adverse recently. Delays cost time and most importantly money, an aircraft sitting on the ground didn't earn any passenger revenue after all. The METARs that arrived in the control tower were increasingly bizarre and concerning. The controller didn't really know what glitter would do to an engine intake but he was certain he didn't want to find out. Rain falling up was also troubling. Could that have a reverse micro-burst effect? He sighed. The was only one thing for it. He picked up a phone and punched the button for the airport's operations manager. The conversation only lasted a minute and the ops manager didn't sound best pleased. A few moments later there, at the information boards in the small airport came clattering as their displays rotated through all letters to find the appropriate updated status for the next flight. This was followed by a calm chiming noise throughout the terminal. "Weewoo Airlines flight 127 to Wafflenet has been delayed due to inclement weather conditions. We apologies for the inconvience to your journey." Two dozen passengers groaned. A few headed for the small cafe in the terminal. Others continued to read or stare into space as delayed travellers often do. The controller sat down in his chair and waited for his next incoming flight, which hopefully would not have to be diverted. I'm playing the town's airport. Or more rather, several people that work there, plus how all weather has on an effect increasingly bewildered travelling public, and the goings on of the days flights.
We meet one of the characters, Larry Nareda, an air traffic controller, as he is forced to delay a flight due to the adverse weather conditions

"Wait, did you say a hair-icaine? You're not serious, are you?"Ray and the lizard still on his head both turned slowly to look at Sherrie. Ray considered her question. “A swirling vortex of hair? Yes, sure, probably gonna happen at the rate we’re going. Residents should be wary of the eye of the storm, as there’s probably toxic hairspray fog in there, or something.” The sun passed overhead, set, and then rose again in the time he was speaking. Heedless, Ray framed the air in front of himself with two bold strokes. “You know what I think? Here’s what I think! We all need titanium umbrellas, and we should all move en masse a hundred miles west of here, where we’ll stop getting precipitous precipitation, and the weather will be normal and predictable and follow basic guidelines of dang decency--” He stopped short. He had just noticed that another lizard had suddenly appeared on top of Sherrie’s bright bubblegum pink hair. “ Don’t move,” he hissed. “ They can’t see us if we don’t move.” Ray affirms his belief in the coming hair vortex and suggests the town move someplace with normal weather. A second lizard appears, now on Ginz ❤’s head.

It was almost as though the last few days had been mocking Anton specifically. The glitterfall was an unpleasant reminder of an old stereotype, and sure enough people had started cracking all the old jokes he had hoped were a decade in the past. He was not a YA love interest dangit. The up-pour, meanwhile, had nearly killed him during a midnight delivery. He was no stranger to thermals or strong winds when flying, but rain falling in precisely the wrong direction threatened to carry him up to cloud level or beyond. He had to change back to human form in midair several times just so he could plummet down to a safe flying level. Landing was nearly impossible and left him clutching a tree branch for dear life like an inspirational cat poster. But the whole... thing... with the sun was just a logistical nightmare. Anton had asked MagiCourier for a leave of absence until the whole thing blew over, but was told that in this unpredictable crisis he was an "essential employee" and couldn't be allowed the time off. So this day (neither "morning" nor "evening" quite applied), he set out carrying his (shrunken) satchel holding the usual shipments of magical tools, reagents, and scrolls with one clawed foot; and a collapsible port-a-coffin with the other. Anytime the sun threatened to peek out from behind a streak of night, he landed wherever he could and jumped into the coffin until the danger had passed. It felt uncomfortably public, but it was all he could do. It wasn't all bad, anyway. At least this meant he got to play video games on company time while waiting for the sun to go away. He managed the deliveries with a few close escapes and what amounted to a bad sunburn on one hand, but otherwise no injuries. Tired from flying, he opted to walk back home, keeping one eye on the sky and another on potential shady patches. On the way, he passed by a regular customer. "Oh hello Aggie! How was that Dreaming Roseberry tea?" Anton Dracula is a courier for a magical delivery company. He's also a vampire, which has proven challenging in this weather. He finishes a round of deliveries and passes Aggie ( Celestial ) on the way back home.
