Do go ahead, I should be able to cope with catching up and flashbacking this weekend if we move on. (Unless I missed something really big happening in-story.)

Hm, I'm waiting for Kat's Cass to pull Taffy out of the top hat, but maybe we could do a collab post when Kat wakes up? It shouldn't be too involved of a post or anything. I could also see that if collab post didn't happen, could just jump right into opening the door, and Cass could pull out the Guinea Pig after everyone gets inside. So I guess theoretically, either way, I'd be ready by tomorrow. |

Heaps of thanks to Thorn for helping us articulate things better and for helping with a test run!! <3 You’re the best! Quick copy-paste of the general puzzle setup from the bottom of the narratorpost, so we can have it in one place: Preemptively Asked Questions Q: Am I supposed to know what the power items’ moves actually do?A: No, you won't initially know what the magical or physical moves do. However, you can make some guesses based on the power item itself. For instance, if one of the items was a magical shovel, you would be reasonable in guessing that its physical ability was to dig holes, and that maybe its magical ability was something thematically related, like instead of removing dirt, its magical move could perhaps remove a plant's poisonous flower. (In our example below, the shovel’s magical ability magically plants the tree after digging the hole with its physical ability.) Q: Is there one way to defeat each plant?A: There is one way to defeat each plant, but there are a few different ways to change how quickly that happens. Q: How many actions can we do every turn?A: Three-- one for each item. Q: Can we repeat actions we took on previous turns?A: Yes! Q: This one power item’s ability had no effect on the plant. Is it just useless?A: No, every power item is good for something! And sometimes knowing what doesn’t work or doesn’t have an effect can be just as important as knowing what does work. June Scarlet, yep! So right now, you can only reach the Large Bamboo and the two Bamboo Shoots. While I'm here, just in case some people don't live in the areas where this thing grows like crazy over everything, have some photos of kudzu for your mental image bank.

...Also, Lizica, I just noticed your Quotation of the Moment, you were waiting for that, weren't you? xDD
So my question, is it only the magically gifted items that will affect things in meta? Or you mentioned how quickly the magic item would affect the plants; could an action that has nothing to do with the item help change that?
(Sorry if the point has already been considered; just trying to wrap my head around it while also currently needing to be careful with my head.)

We hope you'll have fun. xP ...Also, Lizica, I just noticed your Quotation of the Moment, you were waiting for that, weren't you? xDD YES, I've been waiting THE WHOLE GAME to change my signature quotation! XD (Thank you for noticing.) To answer your question--Yes, for this particular puzzle metagame, you all will only be able to use the three power items (Ethereal Earplugs, Sheer Shears, Gardening Gauntlets). When we say that there are different ways to affect how quickly the plants are defeated, we're talking about the way in which you use the three items' magical and physical abilities and how quickly you figure out how to defeat each plant, if that makes sense? (If it doesn't make sense, we can try to think of a better example.) |

That makes sense; thank you! Okay, actually looking at the puzzle, I have some speculation, which includes possible solutions. The snake plant is in the middle, so we can't address it now. But I noticed that it only reacted after all the shouting and insistence that we be quiet. That makes me think that the ethereal ear plugs are for the snake plant, and could be a peaceful way to pacify it. ...Only I'm not sure where the earplugs would go. xD But as they mentioned, we only get one! So maybe we only use it once? (While there are several opponents to face, more than the items we have, so I assume some will repeat.) But for now, we have one large bamboo and two small bamboo shoots! It makes me think that the shears are involved, though... obviously that's not a very peaceful way. We came into their territory, after all! Though hmm, it seems to me like the large one could summon the smaller ones? So maybe the one we need to focus on is the large bamboo shoot. (Though if it activates through the roots, cutting the large bamboo stalk may not be enough.) If that's the case, then it might well be one for each group. In which case, the kudzu goelm... I could see either the gauntlets or the shears to be used on them. Hm. |

I'm tempted to use the Magical attack for all three items the first round, just to see what they do. Easy to keep straight, at least.

...Oh right. Different types of attacks exist. ...Which was mentioned; oops. xD I have a suggestion for the first round, then. I suggest that for the first round, we use the Shears' magical attack on the Large Bamboo.
(Cue a very silly and probably not possible suggestion: Using the gauntlet's physical attack to tie all the bamboo stalks together.) |
