That...is going to make it even more difficult for me to choose AHAHAHA Seriously though I'll probably browse them when I'm done with worky mcworkface and make a shortlist.

One thing that I think is kind of neat about the theme of this milestone collab is that it circles around to the idea of reading and writing, which is what we're all about, no? As for myself, it would make the most sense for me to narrow down my choices to the "Moltaran Books" category. Only thing is that most of those books are clearly manuals and non-fiction, whereas my comfort-zone is in fiction. And those that do seem to be fiction books wouldn't fit well into my Infinity saga for a multitude of reasons. (Ranging from taking place in the modern day, while Infinity takes place in pre-steampunk period over a century and a half ago, to centering around Moltara Caves, which is a location I haven't been able to get to in the main plot yet and I'd rather not show my hand on that too early)
For the moment, though, I think that I'm leaning towards Quarry Life. It seems to be one of the aforementioned non-fiction books, but I have an idea how I could work around that to make it into a Short Story/Series. (Probably the latter, as my brainstorming is turning up enough ideas that I doubt would fit into a Short Story) That said, I don't want to 100% commit to it yet, because a different book may end up appealing to me more. So we'll just have to see later down the road.

Okay so, I've got a few books I'm gonna be putting on my shortlist. - Awkward Social Functions and YOU! would make a great article. Believe me, I've seen my share of those. - Friends Forever is cute too but I'd need to really rack my brain for a nice friendship yarn. - Birthday Best could be a short story or an article. Gotta love that versatility. - Not gonna lie, Jhudora: Terms of Service is tempting me. Taunting me. Challenging me. Wow, some of the art on the book items in existence is really, REALLY old.

books that are somewhat notable: "12 angry myncis": honestly, yes. a neopets version of 12 angry men would be amazing. love that book. "a furry tale": ripe for content "book of vision": very nice. you can make a cthulu out of this. "casual class warfare": from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs "extinct neopian languages": tagging Reiqua"finding illusen": what what is going on?? "fuhnah: fire of the heart": metal title. "how to be wise like me": a self-help book written by a monarch. amazing. "i, moehog": i, robot but neopets. "ylana skyfire saves halloween": tons of ylana skyfire books. they're all hilarious. "how to avoid holiday parties": lots of "how to avoid" holiday books. i like to think they're all written by the same guy.

Fyora's Royal Address - Could be interesting since the description implies that either Fyora uses some type of cipher or her address is written in really bad, unreadable PHP without comments (never do this to me, I will rage for days). Then again, I'm trying to avoid any books about Fyora because they all seem boring or overdone given she gets her own day that's already very close to this collab. Culture and History of Faerieland - Oooo, I've always wanted to explore this! I think I might have found the perfect book. Faeries from Paradise - But wait, here's another one that's going to make it hard for me to decide since this one is about the faeries' origin. Space Faerie Tales - But wait, are the faeries actually from outer space or another planet and for whatever reason, left their planet and crash-landed on Neopia?

June Scarlet if you can bring Story into this I will be very very hype =D So I got a little carried away! No shortlist yet, I'll just throw in books I find inspiring and then others I find cool, in case they can inspire y'all. Neovian and Faerieland Books are the ones I'm focusing on so far - and quicker to browse.
Ghosts of the Desert - a scroll with ghosts literally living in it? That could be so cute! Like Tom Riddle's diary except with an entire sitcom of ghosts chatting inside!!
These books intrigue me: Ancient Arcana - a story about what can happen around a powerful book? Hidden Tower Secrets - more for article territory, like many Brightvale Books. Oh and the Travel Brochures could be made into articles. I think they have comedic potential. For some kind of sassy second-person narration from curser to target, like an increasingly hostile toast at a wedding pulling out receipts -for cursing- or a narrator explaining what to do now that you've been hexed.
It doesn't have to be the actual text of the scroll, it can be a story of events happening around the scroll, or stay ambiguous.

So I think I'm going to commit to Quarry Life. With as many ideas as I have for it, it'll definitely be a series. (Probably a five-parter) That -of course- means I'm really, really going to have to buckle down if I'm to get this done by June... I'm gonna try to compromise and keep the word count lower than I usually do for series, but I make no promises.
I'll hold off on doing a full description of it right now, and will wait until later when I have some actual progress to show for it instead of ideas bouncing around my head.

Status update:
Currently going with Sophie's Leave Me Alone Notice! Likely to be a short, have wild ambitions to turn it into a series.
If that doesn't pick up fast enough, Plan B is Ghosts of the Desert.
(And if it's one week before deadline and I still can't even, my Safety Plan is Flight of the Battle Faerie. Aethia flexing her muscles and sparkling, or something.)

I'm most definitely committing to "Awkward Social Functions and YOU!" and it will be an article, not a short story. Although I might still take a crack at "Birthday Best" to make it another article for another day.
Wow, I missed writing articles.
