I've got enough points for the bank and stock boons, plus three shots at the random one. Don't really feel like donating further.

I still can't get the quick declutter method to work, at this point, I don't know if I'll be able to get all my stuff donated before the event ends.

Okay
So now the declutter quicklink is working.
You apparently can't have over 1000 items in your inventory for it to work.
Boy, I wish they had said that right at the start, ya know
Before I withdrew over 9000 items, thinking I could just click and be done with it.

So... for someone who basically plays Neo for plots and events now, besides weapons/battle dome items, healing potions, neggs, and paintbrushes, anything I definitely should NOT donate? I mean, I have almost NO idea what the value of items are. Like... I fear I could accidentally discard an item worth millions of NP. (Okay. Maybe not millions, but certainly a few thousand. I've got over 100 pages of SDB items. Even Jelly Neo's method would be... tedious. Maybe I should just go for a certain number of points? I have no. idea. lol

Any rare/retired stamps are definitely highly valued, as are other one-time consumables, like gourmet foods and books. There are also morphing potions, paint brushes, and weapons/battle items that could be highly valued. Retired petpets are also sometimes worth a lot. Rare clothing items are also worth more than the average item. If it's a common toy, food, gift, petpet, wearable, or grooming tool, you can probably bet on it being pretty cheap.

And anything you get from battledome drops is safe.
Just keep the codestones.

Can't believe I hadn't posted anything here considering all the opinions that been flying around. Marie Kondo Joke: So that's what this is about. I haven't heard of Marie Kondo before this event so I thought it was just very random we went from donating to this minimalist philosophy angle (not to mention we're not donating to charity anymore but rather deleting the items from existence which includes Petpets... maybe I could write an article about that, haven't done one of my Character Introduction articles in a while). Also when I saw it was also Shenkuu themed I was kind of afraid that JS were trying to appeal to their new owners, NetDragon, and this was going to be a beginning of a lot of Shenkuu-focused things (not saying that a Shenkuu themed event would be bad, but would like them to space things out between all the Neopian lands). But now that I know it's actually based on a person who is Japanese guess that worry was a bit presumptuous. Though as everyone has pointed out, Atsumi is a very shameful art reuse of Mirsha, especially since we're overlapping with the Altador Cup so it'll be even more obvious! I would say they could maybe at least say they're related (like make it part of the pre-tournament press for Shenkuu), but I'm split thinking that would either semi-save their laziness or point it out even more and feel like they're mocking us. Though speaking of the AC this does remind of the time when original TNT replaced Helmo Timm with Erli Quinnock but instead of drawing Erli in Team Kiko Lake clothing they palette swapped Helmo's art... but they forgot to remove the bandages around Helmo's leg from the injury he sustained. Outdated Complaint: Well the first week of this event was a practice in monotony and frustration. And I don't get why they changed it. Was it to increase the amount of pages viewed? Does the item pop-ups really count towards that? If so that's a really shifty and disingenuous way of increasing page views. Well whatever the case, we have the Item Checklist page now so I guess it's all good. If only this was the only complaint... Point Conversion: ... Okay, look, I get it, they don't want some players carrying over their tens of thousands of points they had leftover... but at the same time I'm still upset that the 80k I spent a lot of my time getting is now being downgraded to a measly 6k. So apparently all the work I did (and anyone else who donated a significant amount) just went down the drain. Thanks, JS, I SO feel you value my time. I originally created a less strict point conversion system to try and compromise... but then Herdy pointed out that since one of the perks is a random generating one specifically meant to waste your extra points on there's no reason not to let us keep all our un-used points! Eitherway, I mostly cleaned out my SDB and I'm done. I have a nice 23k, I have 6k coming, I'm just going to get the perks I really want and if there's one I can't get, oh well. Perk Issues: Costs & Randomness: If there's one good thing from this event is that we're at least being allowed to see the Perks ahead of time and their cost (though not how many times we can redeem them which I feel would be an important thing to know). Also I would agree in general these Perks are better than last years and even offering more of the Obelisk Boons. However, even then there's still issues I have. First, I feel the costs of some of the Perks are inflated. Like I don't mind Bank Bribery being 8k, but I don't feel Cheaper By the Dozen is worth 10k. If anything I feel they should be flipped around, I make WAY more NP from interest alone then from Stocks which only once in a blue moon get to a point I decide to sell (and I probably lower than I should, at around 60, but I don't trust the Stock Market enough to have a Stock go and stay above that, at least with the ones I have). Oh Blimey! is a fantastic sounding perk but even for 1 week I don't think it's 5k worth (maybe if they had let me keep all 80k of my heldover points...). Another thing about costs, I still don't feel they have enough low costing Perks (unless they let you claim multiples of the low costing ones like Burrrrrp!, Cartogriphication, and Right Round Round Round). Also, though a better selection then last year, there are ones I question like Avatar Goldmine, In a New Avatar, and 20 Extra. And In a New Avatar till has a lousy selection (they're all mostly click avatars)! Finally, I have some issue with Perk Me Up (~Perk Me Up Inside, I Can't Perk Up~). Now it's not the randomness I have an issue with, but rather the perks they chose to be randomly given out. Ideally all these Perks should have been something everyone can use, however I see a few which only a group of players would get any use out of. Notably those perks are More for Less (the effect of this Perk should have been combined with the Avatar Goldmine in my opinion, also if you have all the Game Avatars that's 2k wasted), Bring Back the Old Days (if you have all the site themes being offered another 2k wasted), Wanna Bet On It? (useful to those who play Food Club, though to be honest I think everyone should so...), Colour it Wild (if all your Neopets are the Colours you want them to be another 2k wasted), and Zapped! (same point as Colour it Wild). Honestly I would have swapped these out with some of the other Perks like Cartogriphication, Scratch Master, and Spiked!. Maybe tomorrow I'll go more into my issues with the Perks. So... for someone who basically plays Neo for plots and events now, besides weapons/battle dome items, healing potions, neggs, and paintbrushes, anything I definitely should NOT donate? I mean, I have almost NO idea what the value of items are. Like... I fear I could accidentally discard an item worth millions of NP. (Okay. Maybe not millions, but certainly a few thousand. I've got over 100 pages of SDB items. Even Jelly Neo's method would be... tedious. Maybe I should just go for a certain number of points? I have no. idea. lol Another Tip: If you have multiples of an item, high chance that they're not worth a lot. For ones you only have 2 or 3 of double-check obviously, but if you have 5+ of that item there's a high chance it's best use is donation fodder (or, if you don't care about the Perks, selling fodder. If you have a lot of r90+ items you can actually make a tidy sum of NP ).

I haven't really done Charity Corner since the days when specific items were requested and prices of items like semolina skyrocketed. This time, I went through my SDB.
This event has shown me that I really, really like most of the items on Neopets, and I do enjoy keeping them in my SDB. I only donated multiples, because a boon will last *checks* a week or two, but pretty vials and collections of Advent Calendar and GMC prizes are forever! (I also really, really love getting a faerie quest for an item that's in my SDB)
It was nostalgic, too, because so many old item descriptions are good, sassy, with subtle references. And then I reached the point where the tone of the item descriptions and the art changed. Sadfeels.
The thing that could make me donate more would be a cooler trophy... but we don't know anything about trophy tiers yet, do we?

I can envision a comic where Atsumi's machine "removes" the items to a secret location (a Gigantic warehouse hidden someplace in the mountains of Shenkuu) and after the event is over with, you see her open the door to a gigantic vault chock full of treasure.
Atsumi then utters an evil laugh and states "I am now the richest and most powerful Neopet in all of Neopia! Mwahaha. Now to concoct my next scheme..."
Comic goes like this:
1st panel: Atsumi watches as a random Neopet loads the tray of her device... Atsumi: "Do these items bring you joy? Remember, 'less is more'. Free yourself of these burdens.
2nd panel: The machine whirs and the items disappear... cut to:
3rd panel: In a mysterious vault somewhere else. A shimmer, and the items appear atop an already huge pile of treasure.
Banner: later, after the event ends.
4th panel:
Atsumi appears at an entrance overlooking the gigantic pile of treasure. Atsumi. "Hahaha. Yes, 'less is more', for me! I am now the most powerful Neopet in Neopia, but this is only the start. I must now make plans to put all this to proper use..."
Bonus points, "Atsumi" unzips her costume to reveal it's Dr. Sloth in disguise, the vault is on the Virtupets space station, and he says "Hahaha. Yes, 'less is more'... for me! I am now have the means to begin carrying out my next plan to conquer neopia but this is only a start. I must now find a way to put all this to proper use...".
Yes, I have a twisted view of things.
Any takers?

Something I feel should be asked.
The petpet zapped perk.
Does that count as having a Petpet zapped by the petpet lab ray and disqualify them from the PPL or does this let petpet lab colors finally be available for use?
I ask because I would love to have the Quillian on my Chocolate Draik be painted Chocolate to go with it.

A bit late, but my rule of thumb was to run everything through Jellyneo's SDB price checker before donating. Anything worth more than a certain point (you can decide what that point is, it depends on your budget) gets sold or kept.

So, fun speculation game.
What do you think the rare, unique items that you could get in the grab bag will be?
