...because I know there are at least four of us here. High Rollers is an actual play Dungeons and Dragons stream, which goes live 6pm GMT every Sunday. The podcast is released in two halves on Monday and Thursday, and the video in one piece on Youtube Thursday. I mostly made this thread because I want to post spoiler-thoughts on Aerois, the current primary campaign, but you are welcome to talk about any and all High Rollers stuffs here! My favourite Aerois player character is Qill, my fave Rogue's Gambit player character is Boomer, and I can't pick a favourite player because they are all so nice and I met them and they were so nice and argghh. ;-; Tom made the strongest impression though because we talked about Qill and anxiety and what Qill means to me, and it was super great. Spoilers for High Rollers Aerois: Episode 26 below... So because of the vague-spoilers on twitter, I worked out what happened to Sentry before I actually watched the episode. Thinking that I knew all important spoilers, I freely clicked a spoilered section on reddit and...
Nightfrost? Starbane? DIFFERENT CONTINENT?
Nope. I hadn't even scratched the surface!
This episode was such a wild ride. I felt bad for Rhiannon, with Sentry being her first ever character iirc (or at least the first she's had for an extended length of time), so it was great to see her laughing by the end of the recording! And oh my goodness, so way back I suspected that Starbane and Vala had a connection- but I thought she would be his reincarnation or something, not his daughter! Not the most original of twists, but I still super enjoyed it and can't wait to see what this means for Vala and our adventurers in future!
The scary fiend-man was pretty cool too. When he was first described I was like "bronze skin AND horns? He has aasimar AND tiefling traits I'm so confused." But yup, defs a fiend, and a super cool confident and sinister one at that! I was on the edge of my not-seat (since I was out walking) the whole time the party were trying to strike a bargain with him!
I am unbelievably excited for next week now...tempted to break my usual rule and watch it Sunday night when I get home, even though I'll miss the first half. I am guessing Rhiannon's new character will be another paladin or maybe a cleric, since I suspect she'll want somebody who can heal. But we just don't know! The possibilities are endless! |

I'm almost done with Rogue's Gambit, and loving it XD
It sort of helped getting into it since I was familiar with 3 of the players from watching lets plays. I watched a lot of Kim stuff until she stopped youtubing for the most part (recently got back into a few lets plays, but haven't really watched them). I know Trott mostly from Gary's Mod lets plays (and some older minecraft ones, some with Kim). And the DM, Mark, I know from Gary's Mod as well, where he sometimes shows up to play.
So overall I'm just loving it and laughing and dying from it.

Aerois 5ever!! <44 ... those fours were an actual typo, but let's just roll with it. XD
Anyway, I had the great fortune of being introduced to High Rollers (and specifically Aerois) by our lovely Thorn, and although I'm very bad at keeping up/catching up, I've been loving it and I'm very invested in the story and the characters! The players and DM are all amazing, they seem such a friendly fun bunch of people! My favorite characters are Qill and Sentry, but I do love everyone, including most NPCs.
I'm currently mid-episode 16, so I have a while to go, but perhaps I could also post some spoilery thoughts as I watch/listen to the episodes, and entertain some of you guys who are farther in the story than me!

I would love for you to keep us updated with your thoughts, Ginz. =D Always interested to see what people think of different plot events, characters, funny moments, etc. I think you might meet one of my fave npcs in episode 16! Vala and Sanna go without saying, but the following is also really cool... Nightfrost Rogue's Gambit definitely made me die laughing a few times, Draco, starting with that ridiculous opening. Glenn: "Ah trust ya, Mamba!"
Tiefling Cultist: "That would be a shame, if my brother wasn't...RESISTANT TO COLD DAMAGE AHAHA."
I think my fave episode was the one on the boat, though. I'll be vague in case you're not there yet, but it's so...cool. xP |

And when Aqua Mamba charms the guy on the docks- "You know...our secret." "Remind me what that is again?"
Jarlaxle is my fave npc, so when he was monologuing at them extensively I was super happy.
Have you passed the episode with um, how do I do this non spoilery...the wererat?
I like that a lot too!

I'm on Episode 10, and haven't run into any wererats yet XD But sounds weird and fun!
Jarlaxle is great. I find it funny that first he sounded like Sean Connery, and then moved to a different voice XD
I've always liked characters who speak like him (personality wise). That always makes villains fun XD |

I'm on episode 27 now.
The intro is cool XD Though like some shows, I've started to skip through it sometimes. My only problem with watching the youtube videos are the breaks. Sort of bothers me when I'm doing stuff and just want to listen to the story, and then have to stop to skip ahead. (would think they would edit that out in the video)

On episode 31 (no spoilers here, promise!), and I was really happy to see Mark trying so hard with Eloquis' (sp?) pronouns! He and his players obviously aren't used to it, but it was really lovely to see him trying so hard with they/them pronouns, and to have included this character in his game. Spoiler thoughts: -What a cool villain! =O
-I loved loved LOVED the saw trap!
-At one point Mark sounded a bit like Nightfrost...I miss Nightfrost, he was my fave NPC. =(
-LOVE the whole vibe of this location ahahahha.
-Oriya being like "eh, I'll do it" and cutting Lucius was gold.
Episode 32: Qill noooo! I knew because of spoilers that he died, but with Mark trying to prevent it by giving Eloquis the chance to save him, and THAT failing too...so sad!
When I met Tom at ComicCon I told him how much it meant to me that Qill is clearly very anxious, but he keeps doing things and trying to be brave regardless. I am also very anxious and sometimes it makes me not want to do things (much more mundane things than saving the world!), but I try, and so that aspect of his character really resonated with me.
I know Qill probably won't remain dead, but this is still a sad episode! |

Most of the way through episode 32. (Episode 32 stuff) "Are youssss going to eatsss thaaat?"
"Oh no! That's exactly what they would have asked! They're gone now, to late."
So yeah. One thing after another with this group XD I'll probably finish up 32 tomorrow or later tonight before I go to sleep (phone and headphones both need charging).
One thing is for sure. I'm glad to not have moody depressed Nova back. She's not my favorite character, but like Aila, I would rather have the hyper normal one back then that one XD (was waiting for someone to give a sort of inspirational slap and speech)
On another note, Rhiannon's new character. I like her more then Sentry >_> |

(response to Draco.) I really love Oria too! But even though I prefer her to Sentry, Sentry being dead is a Big Sad...and as my friend pointed out, Rhiannon clearly prefers playing Sentry. Her first instinct is always to heal her friends!
And yeah that joke with the lizards...too good. xD Wait until you meet Tom's new character though, he's hilarious. |
