On one hand, Aldric's game face is rather intimidating. If you didn't know he was a YYB player, the scowl and the flames could make him look like a villain. On the other hand he's clearly a YYB player and we literally just had the AC. Maybe team Moltara as a whole is turning heel after years of AC mediocrity rofl |

...actually a bit of WWE shenanigans might be just what we need to spice up the Altador Cup after thirteen years of repetitive grinding. The game itself might still be repetitive grinding - depending on whether they'll make fundamental changes during the HTML5 conversion - but some good inter-team plot ridiculousness would at least keep interest up outside of it.

Last week, I was messaging Scrappy and Jade about the NT collab. In my last message, along with collab stuff, I said I hoped they had fun at Comic Con and the after party.
Yesterday, I got a response.
(I cut out the part about the collab, but still.)
I just figured I should share.

About the odd choices in the trailer, HTT has said that some of the stock art shown isn't going to appear in the final game. It wasn't clear if she meant the trailer or the game version that was playable, or both, though. I wouldn't worry about Altador Cup players suddenly turning evil, personally. Did HardToTame make another appearance since the 20th? Just want to post my quick opinions, mostly from what JN reported (plus the situation concerning the Avatar): Neopets Legends & Letters: Also at the end when the text "Vicious Foes" pops up, the character they have next to it is Team Moltara's Captain Aldric Beign... who isn't a villain at all. Like the video shows Scarblade so why not use his stock art? Also does this mean we'll be using/fighting against Yooyuball players at some point? I'm intrigued by this, but in case Beign turns out to just be a placeholder what's also got me thinking is how the Krawk guy said "They think they can fight giant monsters" when they zoomed in on Goregas. That doesn't look like a placeholder. Are they implying Goregas is a monster we're gonna fight? I guess you could say he's a monster, but he's a good guy, right? If we're gonna fight good guys like Goregas, could we also end up fighting good guys like Beign? If Beign is a good guy? What do we actually know about Beign as far as any plotly adventury things? |

I question if the JS member putting these images together has any idea who these characters are. Like looking at the characters the use at the booth I noticed something: Notice how for the other IPs they own they use what could be considered the main/mascot/face character of that series. But for Neopets who do they use? Gorix and, of all characters, the Neggbreaker. Now granted Neopets doesn't really have a mascot character though at the very least I would think Fyora would be one, or just a batch of normal Neopets (I'd personally would have used Jeran and Fyora). Now to be fair in another image they have Fyora... but also the Shoyru Archer (a character from the TCG that's just an upgrade for basic Shoyru, at most you can figure its a servant of Illusen) and two of the unidentifiable bugs from one of the old Daily Dares. Then there's the pamphlet for Neopets which shows a variety of characters who are well known though I think that's just from luck of choosing the most interesting looking characters. Because if I were choosing characters I'd tried to have them be from different worlds (also the Altador Cup logo just seems like a random thing to throw in, especially since the logo for Neopets is a specific star shape used in many places around the site). |
