I've played a few different teams over the years, but since I'm not much of an avid player, I've recently been sticking to Mystery Island as the home team. Although in-universe, all of my pets are backing different teams for different reasons.
In line with my current ongoing return to active playerbase, I've actually been chipping away at Yooyuball as best I can this year, but honestly I don't like the game enough to turn it into a daily grind and the urge to set the Darigan yooyu on fire will increase by the day, so we'll see how it actually turns out.

now I know why I don't play the altador cup that much. the requirements are so high... and the games are absolute trash.

Uhh...Faerieland got 11 in SS and 13 in MSN...We've never gotten higher than a 6 normally...I'm not liking this.
UGH if FL FINALLY gets on the podium because of an ACG I will be SO MAD (then again, the nerfs will probably make sure that won't happen, so no worries there? -__-). I thought we'd be safe because we were consistently a bottom contender - like why would they want to join our team?? And we got swept the first day too, so I didn't even entertain the possibility that it'd be us...UGH I'm just so upset...
And now we all have to be careful in how we play. -___-
Edit: All the sympathetic words from other teams, especially MQ (from them it's empathetic), on the FLUFF board is making me tear up. :') Thanks, guys. ^^

I've realized my will to play yooyuball heavily depends on the layout of the enemy team. Meridell only has one defender by default so it's a lot easier for me to rack up goals today vs the past two days where teams had 2 defenders. It's resulted in me having more fun playing the game for sure.

I joined Faerieland on a whim (hey, they've had some hard times lately and I only return to Krawk Island every second year) and managed to get a few games done.
That's probably my contribution for the year g'night folks

Just ignore the drama-baiting boards, don't get cute playing two games at once or something, and know that your own personal achievements have nothing to do with what's happening on your team.

Thanks, Jae. Sorry to have made such a fuss this morning! Well, after a while of playing and chatting on FLUFF like normal, I managed to forget about this and now it doesn't seem like as big a deal. Well, probably the next few days won't be fun score-wise - I hope JS can take care of it soon and...better than the last years. I don't want my fellow team members to be collateral damage.

Totally great feeling: Suddenly being on a roll and getting multiple successive quick goals, only for a Darigan Yooyuball to mess you up for the rest of the game.

*playing and disliking Yooyuball with trackpad* Yikes, this is rough. Would the keyboard controls be easier? *plays with keyboard* *instant regret* Yeah, no.

Is it just me, or are the team boards much slower than they usually are?

Ick. I really wish TNT would figure out a way to reliably detect cheaters but at this point I'm pretty much resigned to just playing for the prize shop. Hopefully FL gets nerfed soon?
Hit rank 14 just before midnight. I think I'm taking a break today.

TEAM MERIDELL. honestly best kingdom, all hail skarl and his merry band of knights. i mean, really, skarl makes hard decisions for the betterment of his people AND forgave the Darigans for attacking his kingdom TWICE.
also, "meridell" is only a syllable away from "'merica." Coincidence? I THINK NOT! and ethel boortz is actually the best character neopets ever gave us.
oh and i'm not even rank 1 yet lol the games are so boring. doesn't matter, i think it's really nice that neopets makes you do the least amount of work to be #1--which is all that matters tbh.
EDIT: I am now rank one. Yay shiny avatar! And with that I will take my rank I trophy. now i can go back to working on my NT series. *looks at text document* ... yay.

So here's one thing y'all don't know about having a toddler:
(probably, anyway.)
It's not that you don't get free time. On the contrary, you have too much free time that you don't get to use. You don't get anything done that needs to get done because your toddlermonster will use that time to attempt polevaulting out the nearest unguarded window. I get zero computer time when he's awake (because if I get on the keyboard, he'll want in on the action) so I work when he sleeps. This means squeezing all my necessary workload into less than two hours, and any kind of leisure computerstuff on top of that basically requires time travel. What I normally do when at home with the kid is watch a whole lot of TV (parent of the year) and/or stare at a wall feeling dead inside, as one does.
Then I thought I'd show him a Yooyuball game, cos you can do that one-handed with a kid in your lap.
Turns out he thinks it's awesome. He gets excited at the rhythmic game music and whenever there's a GOOOAAAAL and there's all this moving onscreen and I taught him to say yooyu.
I mean, I prolly still don't have a shot at All-Star even with enthusiastic toddler involvement, but I've leveled to Rank 1 this year, which hasn't happened since AC III, and if I manage to claw my way up to Level 6, I'll have beaten my all-time record xD

From my experience with my younger cousins when they were that age and other stories I heard here and there, if he likes watching you play the game that much he will probably make you play it. If that becomes the case, you may dread have teached him to say "yooyu" because, as you're about to do something else you want to do, a little voice from behind you will say "yooyu". Even if he loses interest and does something else or wanders off, if you try to do the same you'll here a "yooyu" following behind you. And you will play Yooyuball, because he wants you too... no matter how much you don't want to. Have fun!
