The gift box is neat, though I am unsure why it has ice items in it and not Maraquan items. Just a winter thing, I guess?
The wheeless toy car amused me. The text kiiiind of makes it sound like it exists because of people (like me) whining about some of the items having no uses (I did get that pack rat avvie like, 10 years ago). |

Day 16 (Is This A Dream, Or Was This Reality?) ANIMATION: A bit of an odd animation. Okay, so Hannah is dreaming about her and Armin being in Maraqua (we'll ignore Armin swimming since dream and there's nothing saying he didn't learn how to swim after Ice Caves, he just couldn't swim when they first met). I was sort of expecting someone from the Curse of Maraqua plot to appear but instead they just steal a treasure. Than Hannah is woken up by the owner of the Golden Dubloon (his name is Captain Hackett for those who don't know)... and she's cleaning tables? Okay, yes, Hannah WAS a Golden Dubloon barmaid, but emphasis on WAS. Once she became a treasure hunter she presumably quit and only returned to tell stories (and you'd think she'd find enough treasure so she wouldn't have to get a job). And it's not like this is before she became a treasure hunter as Armin is there... and he appears in the end with the Maraquan gift box. Wait, so WAS that an adventure they went on? If it was a dream than how did Armin get the same gift box from the dream? Why is Hannah working as a barmaid again? I'M SO CONFUSED! ... Also I now want a Hannah and a Maraqua Caves game. GIFTS: Some interesting items. Skipping over the the SDB filler (which I don't get why its here. Because Maraqua has the fishing vortex you get stuff like that from? Weak connection, though points for mentioning Wallace aka the Wocky from Wicked Wocky Wobble) we have a gift box and random Dubloon (1, 2, 5, 10, or 20). You'd think the Maractite Gift Box would be an NC Gift Box but WRONG! It's more like a gift bag item... and not a good one. The items it gives (which are mostly ice themed, odd) aren't worth much; it'll probably end up more expensive than anything it gives (at least have it possibly give a rare ice-themed food item if you don't want anything too crazy). It's odd you get a random Dubloon, like they couldn't settle on what Dubloon players should get so made it random (not like a high end Dubloons are worth much thanks to the BD). Still we get a Dubloon and it just so happens a battling event is in the making, hmm...  JS & Site Lore:It's up to debate whether it should be required JS to learn the site lore or in their right if they don't want to, BUT they are making an effort to learn the site lore so I think that point is moot. And I'm glad they are, if you're running Neopets I do feel you need to know the site lore which Neopets has a lot of. It's one of the things that makes Neopets special than other pet sites: it has history, lore, and canon. AND, once you learn this lore, you can then being to expand upon it and even play with it, thus creating new lore thus keeping things fresh and make Neopets feel like a living, changing world. Animation Story:I like they're telling constructed stories with the AC animations though I do agree some just have too much padding. For some you need every bit but others I can point out and chop out some stuff to make it go quicker. I'm more willing to let it slide as it's JS trying to show us they've been learning the site lore which I fully encourage. Plus you could consider this storytelling practice, maybe if they try their hand on making an actual plot or story driven event. |

I'm not currently able to say anything about today's Flash, because I'm on a phone, but
As a huge fan myself, I'm honestly elated that they brought Hannah back for the Advent calendar Flash, no matter how tired she looks in it. It shows that there may yet be a flicker of hope for her games and that she is not forgotten. I have been worried about them for a good long while. I don't know what I would do if they get moved to the game graveyard.

Day 16 (Gotta Collect Em' All)
ANIMATION: I was kind of expecting Wallace to make a junk Christmas tree at the end, but it just ends with him dragging the tree. I don't get it. Actually it feels like a part 1 of something, like maybe later down they'll have an animation where him and other characters from this year's AC gathered and that's where they make the junk Christmas tree.
GIFTS: Oh, so looks like someone messed up yesterday and gave us one of today's prizes yesterday. So now we had two wheel-less toy cars SDB fodder, yeah. Though this makes me wonder, does that mean we didn't get one of the gifts that was meant for yesterday or was the Dubloon meant to be our second gift? Anyway just two toys today, infact if it wasn't for that little mistake I probably wouldn't have talked about the gifts today.

Yeah, I really don't understand the last section of today's. It's just 'Wallace collects junk'. Maybe the Three Wockyteers are warning him he's got a Christmas tree stuck on his foot or something and Wallace is telling them its fine? Best I can think. This is the first one I've not got. |

About today's animation: Isn't the gag supposed to be that he dragged the tree so far that all its needles fell off? Am I remembering wrong? EDIT: Just watched it again and turns out I was totally wrong.  ~Who knows~ |

Lets hope JS keeps catching up on the lore of the site. Though, honestly, I think they should be a bit more thorough with their research, since yesterday's animation had some elements that kind of bothered me (which everyone else has already brought up on this thread).
But who knows? Maybe they'll bring back a lot of old characters we haven't heard from or seen in years. There are SO many characters to choose from after all. |

At very least, we're seeing comebacks from a large number of our old characters. It's nice to see! Now, if they can show some love to our DC/MD War friends, I'll be giggling with fangirl glee. Despite some of the... oddness, I think it shows that they've been making an effort. We'll just have to wait and see from here on out, but thus far, it's been quite enjoyable  . |

Sasha overwinters on Terror Mountain it seems. And breaks into random people's houses, lawl. Actually I'm a little confused about where they are, because the one quiggle is wearing a shirt with the Altadorian sun on it, but in the establishing shot we can see flash assets from old maps of Terror Mountain.
I'm gonna headcanon Sasha is just on TM visiting the Altador Cup fans there who support Team Altador, lol.
At least it is honest to her character history as per the Book of Ages (the one in Altador, not the one on Jellyneo.) |
