Day 10 (Tarla Shop of Dung) ANIMATION: Funny, and hey they got what NP are right (or at least the people who made this animation knew that)! And as The Scrac that Smiles Back pointed out, it has both the lesson that thieves never prosper (the Jetsam stole another bag only for it to be dung too) and you shouldn't judge things by their initial appearance (the last documented price for Starry Battle Dung was 4.5 mil). GIFTS: Actually, technically what the Jetsam pulled out wasn't exactly Starry Battle Dung. It was just a scoop of Starry Dung, something which doesn't exist unlike Rainbow Dung. So I thought one of today's prizes was going to be Starry Dung, but as it turns out the prizes are based on the two items the Vandagyre and Tuskaninny got (with the squeaky toy being based on a Jetsam). All still pretty much SDB fodder, though if it was my idea of the Starry Dung it would have little collector value.

That Kougra that's been facing away from the camera for what - five years now? - is the true star.

I think I got a little too happy when I saw Kell from the SFC in today's animation. :x Just overall, I think the animations are pretty good this year.

I was thinking of suggesting that Gifts actually have a use. That is, you can "appreciate" the gift. That is the option. When you appreciate or enjoy or whatever the word you want to use, your pet says something. Here are some options.
Some of these could effect mood or intelligence.
You can appreciate a certain number of gifts a day. Maybe one per pet?
Your pet looks lovingly at the gift and signs happily.
Your pet laughs hysterically and says "What a funny gift this is to give someone like me!"
Your pet feels less intelligent just looking at the thing.
Your pet rubs it's hands, flippers or appendages together evilly and says "I know exactly what I will do with this. Perhaps you should be worried...
Your pet pokes at it unenthusiastically. Meh...
Ooh Shiny!
Does this come with instructions?
Your pet tilts its head back in forth trying to figure it out. Your pet reacts with fear "Get that thing away from me!"

Annual MAGEX/Nox day. On an unrelated note, I was going through the archives and the 2011 animations aren't loading. :s The preloader isn't on the image server anymore, though I'm not sure about the animations themselves. Has this been a problem for a while, or is it new to this past year?

It happened during the site transfer. For some random reason the 2011 preloader didn't make it over to the JS servers - that's what's breaking the 2011 ones in the archives. The actual animations are still on the site if you use the direct links. Hah, and today we see the face of the backwards facing Kougra for the first time XD
Yay for Nox! I guess this means his NQ2 minions are now officially canon? EDIT: On rewatching it... JS seem to think Hubrid's moustache is part of his eyes? Tears come out of it

Maybe a mustache that can cry is one of Nox's special abilities!

Maybe a mustache that can cry is one of Nox's special abilities! Almost as interesting as Magax's jumping scar.

The Tyrannian army look to have gotten a budget increase since the invasion. They have uniforms now!

When you think about it, the Tyrannian army has a pretty solid tactical advantage in that they have a mysteriously infinite supply of free food up on what is otherwise a pretty barren plateau.

Day 11 (Stealthy Decorating) ANIMATION: Cute idea. I like how they included Techo Master's master, especially comparing it to the relation with Ryshu and the Techo Master. My only problem with it is that Ryshu is looked very pixilated. GIFTS: A wearable AND weapon, and they're pretty nice ones as well! The wearable looks good, well, good if you're making a ninja customization. As for the weapon, it's once per battle but does 6 Fire and 6 Water icons, so it's a rather nice grenade for beginning battlers (and just in time for a new battling event ). Day 12 (MAGAX & Nox: Episode 5 "Old Habits Die Hard") ANIMATION: And we continue our favorite sitcom of MAGAX & Nox. Nox just can't shake his old scaring habits. MAGAX has an idea but he's going to need some help from of Nox's old frien... err, minions. Can MAGAX help Nox shake the habit? Stay tuned!
GIFTS: Interesting to see a Nox Minion Plushie since that was only a NeoQuest (2) thing. So either JS studied up on NeoQuest... or they probably looked up Nox on JN's Book of Ages and found out that way. Day 13 (Tyrannia Daily) ANIMATION: It's a cute idea for an animation... but what's with the army uniforms? Tyrannia is a prehistoric world, and while TNT has stretched stuff that Tyrannia has they usually stick with it being made out of stone, stick, and raw cloth/fur. But that's clearly manufactured clothes they're wearing.
GIFTS: The hat is nice, though I don't quite get the Omelette. Yeah yeah, the animation was about the Giant Omelette, but why that flavor? It's not like the year where we got the "second serving" or is a flavor you would think a military force would ration. It could be a normal Omelette flavor and you wouldn't think anything off about it. Well I guess it's another Omelette for collectors, I wonder if JS remembered to give it a 2/3 and 1/3 version?

So I feel like JS is trying to learn the site lore as fast as they can, and then making it very clear to the userbase "Hey, we learned all the site lore!"
Like, you know that feel when a corporation uses a meme correctly, because on the one hand, they used it correctly, but on the other hand you're still giving them the hairy eye because they're a corporation using memes? >_> That's how I feel when JS does site lore. And that's not remotely fair, and not equivalent, but it's still just how it makes me feel.
And on the other hand? It's actually genuinely nostalgic to see new material starring the cast of Cheat. Like that's kind of awesome.
