Ah, thanks for confirming that, Herdy. And to hear that both All Star groups (Stealth and SOTAC) are no longer the powerhouses they used to be in the past (they're usually the ones that decide who wins) is definitely (depending on your POV) good/bad news.

So none of the new changes can stop them?

Unless JS have implemented a way to remove scores from all teams when they freeze an account, and intend to mass freeze all cheaters they have somehow identified in a way that old TNT could not after signups close, then no - nothing JS could do can change the outcome now. But even then, unless JS also lied when they said the bracket system itself remained unchanged, it would be /hard/, but not impossible for legit players to close the gap. That would require JS removing the stacked brackets feature of scoring. The only change we've seen so far is the reduction in caps - and that only makes cheaters stronger.
The 2nd/3rd place is still up for grabs, as that depends on who gets put in what brackets later on. But MQ will take first at this.

Man, I sure miss the days when cheaters didn't determine the outcome and DC was always a big contender!

So, about the Maraqua team thing--I'm pretty sure it's also because the Neo subreddit group decided that they were all going to converge onto the Maraqua team. Now, I'm not sure if this also coincides with a lot of Neo-cheaters being on Reddit, ergo Maraqua rumored to be the new cheating team, but I did recall seeing a huge thread about the subreddit supporting Maraqua.

With the staffing issues as well, I doubt they'll have as much time to crack down on cheaters as they did in the past. Hail Maraqua?
I'm cool with them finally getting a win regardless of its legitimacy, I just really hate the bracket system because it can and does screw over teams by repeatedly sticking them in tough brackets.

That, and the possibility of getting the same team/opponent for all 4 rounds. It's already happened to Shenkuu at least twice since the bracket system was introduced.

MQ has the bigger cheating group that normally wins. Because of the way brackets work - MQ have now won the Cup regardless of what happens. The smaller cheating group has gone mostly to KD with a smaller splinter group on MI. They are rubbish and will not win. It is possible a small splinter group from the bigger cheating group has joined TY, but that's unconfirmed at this point. The others are likely the remnants of Stealth and SOTAC.*Sigh* Remember back when it was the All-Star groups that was looked upon being the "biggest problem" with the AC? Well, Maraquan Paint Brush ain't a bad prize (unless they do Maractite or Water PB instead).

Yeah, for as much as I dislike(d) the concept of Neo-illuminati controlling the Cup before it even starts, at least they actually worked for it.
Agreed. Could use some deflation on that front.

Yeah, though it's also debatable if the big cheating group deliberately influenced the reddit poll. Regardless though, it's the cheaters causing MQ's scores - no matter how much of reddit joined, history has showed us that groups of legit players can't push scores up to the same degree cheaters can.

*plays some Carpal Tunnel Simulator*
WHO MADE THIS GAME.
WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM.
YOU ARE A BAD PERSON AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD.
why does slushie slinger advance your score less even though it's arguably harder and takes a lot longer than Yooyuball. that game should be the REAL sport.
how is Yooyuball a viable sport that people who don't normally play it would watch? Can you imagine if soccer had random powerups on the field that made one team sprint like superman, change the goal size, or FROZE THE ENEMY TEAM IN PLACE? no, you can't, because that wouldn't be a sport, it's just gambling. It's Wheel of Fortune. Or DoTA.
where does the jelly chia from shootout showdown come from if jelly world doesn't exist? omg jumpstart read up on your lore, that's a joke, not a real thing. /s

Sometimes I've played ShSh and YYB at the same time. xD
It's.... kinda effective? More of a boredom buster. You can do ShSh and SlS together for sure, though.

So FL seems to be doing quite well bracket-wise. Maybe they were able to fix the brackets somehow because Moltara's bracket at least has had an unprecedented amount of movement.
