What the... Did... Did Altador just sweep Haunted Woods?
I didn't realize we were allowed to do that. This changes everything!
Up against Moltara today. Historically they've been one of the teams we're sometimes able to pull at least one victory over. But this year, who knows?

Wow, Faerieland is sure doing well - they've overtaken Krawk Island! (at the current time of checking)
I'm assuming those cheaters have joined the teams in the Vaeolus bracket (Kreludor, Brightvale and Maraqua)? The results for those teams are ridiculously high. Meanwhile, Tyrannia's scores look legit to me.

Historically they've been one of the teams we're sometimes able to pull at least one victory over. But this year, who knows? Haunted Woods seems to not be doing well in general this year. Think the bandwagon decided they wanted another symbol on their gold trophy this year. I feel like stories/comics in the NT can also sway the bandwagon certain ways. Perhaps in the future, the NTWF should all converge on one team and put out tons of stories/comics about that team, just to see how it goes? "Despite a subpar showing by Trapper Remis..." Silly commentators. They shank anyone who doesn't score a lot of goals. Trapper Remis is supposed to be a defender... LOL!

Yeah, I didn't think Shenkuu would win against Tyrannia. Total sweep. Today we're up against Darigan Citadel. Usually a strong contender, though this year seems to be faltering a bit. We'll see?

B) I'm back. (Still with Shenkuu, still casually playing a few games. Still low-key shipping Xarsha.)

B) I'm back. (Still with Shenkuu, still casually playing a few games. Still low-key shipping Xarsha.) I get 18-0 on rare occasions. Usually I get 15-0, 16-0 if the Yooyu are just right (Normal, Fire, Snow, Clockwork, & Mutant when it copies the previous mentioned four). Faerie isn't bad but sometimes it curves right into the goalies hand or goes just above/below the net which might knock me to a 15, 14, or 13. Darigan I'm lucky to get over 10...

I decided to join my first Altador Cup on a whim! I'm Team Faerieland :0 I'm not sure how much I'll have time to play but I'm excited to finally see how it works.
If anyone has any advice for a newbie or knows where I can find guides, I would definitely appreciate it!

I decided to join my first Altador Cup on a whim! I'm Team Faerieland :0 I'm not sure how much I'll have time to play but I'm excited to finally see how it works. If anyone has any advice for a newbie or knows where I can find guides, I would definitely appreciate it! Yooyuball: 1. First pick the controls your most comfortable with. I personally find keyboard better as that's how this version of Yooyuball was built around, but it's up to you. 2. Pick your starting position. Everyone usually goes for 1-3 or 3-1 since it'll have the forward/middle forward player nearest the Yooyuball (I personally pick 3-1). 3. When you start the game, for newbies, its easier to let the opponent grab the Yooyuball first, dash stealing it, and then running to their goal and scoring. It's recommended that you dash steal it going down all the way, then going the direction where your opponent's goal is. Also note that for some reason you can't steal the Yooyuball when the opponents are near your goal (but then can from you if your near theirs, cheaters). 4. While running remember to charge your shot by holding down space/left mouse button, once you let go it'll shoot farther & faster then had you thrown it normally. However don't charge too long or it'll go away. 5. Remember you throw the Yooyu in 90 degree angles. Meaning you can only throw it left, right, up, down, or at a 90 degree diagonal between those directions (so there's 8 directions to throw the Yooyuball altogether). 6. You have 3 options in how to score: - For newbies you may first want to just go to the corner and shoot up directly into the goal, usually it'll go in without a problem.
- You can try to diagonal shoot it in while running to the corner, it'll take some practice to know when to exactly diagonal shoot but once you learn it you'll want to that whenever you can.
- You can run up to the goal, "psych the goalie", and shoot it in. The goalie is easy to "psych", just run up or down, it'll usually follow you a split second later, and once it does go the other direction and quickly shoot the Yooyuball in before it has time to correct itself. You can do this close to the goalie but not too close or else they'll steal the Yooyuball from you.
7. You also go to remember the types of Yooyuball (it's not hard, it follows simple logic): - Normal: Goes straight at a decent speed. Any of the above strategy would work for it.
- Fire: Goes straight but is fast. Any above strategies would work. The problem with it is more if the opponent gets it after you miss a goal shot or they steal it from you as it's a pain to get back. Also if you hold it too long it'll shoot out of your hands cause its too hot.
- Snow: Goes straight but slow. As long as you charge shot (which you should always do anyway) you can do any the the strategies, though if you want to be safe either shoot above from the corner or psyche out the goalie.
- Faerie: Shoots in an arc. You'd want to psyche out the goalie with this one, or if you get real good you can shoot the Yooyu to it arcs around the goalie. But I just fine it easier to psyche him out, get in close, and shoot directly into the net.
- Clockwork: Works like a Normal Yooyuball but will explode eventually (it'll blink red for a few seconds before doing so). Use it like a Normal Yooyu.
- Darigan: Will shoot in a random direction. Good luck. This one is ANNOYING! Your best bet it to get close to the corner (but not into the corner), charge your shot, and hope it goes straight up into the net. That's the only way I found to do it and even then you may run out the clock. You could also try having your opponent's try scoring with it (on you or themselves), sadly they try to use it as a Normal Yooyu so usually this doesn't work.
- Mutant: Randomly copy the trait of any of the above Yooyu whenever you shoot it (it'll never explode though). Best to treat it like a straight shooting Yooyu. You can also do the psyche out method if you're worried about it arcing like the Faerie.
8. If you see a power-up try grabbing it. Wings will give you super speed, Goal Net will expand opponent's goal net, & Ice will freeze your opponents. There's also the Glove that'll make you players grow big, unable to be stolen from, and super charge your shots (you don't need to charge them). Power-ups only last for a few seconds. And that's pretty much it, the rest is practice. The other games are pretty straight forward. Good luck! If you want another guide check out JN's or even look up some Youtube videos. You can check out this one or this one.

Do the number of goals in YYB contribute to the team rankings and/or prize points? Or are game wins just enough (like ShSh)?

So CQ says in the editorial that bracket scores - at last - will reset between brackets. I'll ignore that she says it was always working, since mathematically we know it wasn't - since this is a real positive change!
Without retroactive scoring and mass cheater freezing it won't make any difference to 1st position - but it is something, at least. A move in the right direction.

Do the number of goals in YYB contribute to the team rankings and/or prize points? Or are game wins just enough (like ShSh)? For the first 46 games you send score per day, your score will contribute to your team's ranking and how many prize points you get at the end. So do try to score as many goals as you can (in addition to getting more points each goal shaves 8 seconds off the clock so the game also goes by much faster).

Or if that textwall of info's too much to take in all at once, just remember as long as you tie the game, or win the game, it counts towards your rank and your team. And winning a game is fairly easy to get the hang of, so just have fun with it.

So staff tournament is up. Which staffers are classic TNT? Judging by the art, DJ Skellington, SenorMalo, and Binary Supagoo (not sure about lawyerbot, I think every Neopets lawyer just takes that on as their identity). But come on, you're really going to base your pick on just old TNT members? I mean at least look at last year's results and take them into consideration. Of the returning players this year, the best overall team would be... Forwards: DJ Skellington & SenorMalo Defenders: Country Queen & Dark Lord Goalie: Binary Supagoo I'll shut up now (and yes, those are also essentially my picks, though I swapped Dark Lord with Kikocat who did just as good as he did (plus is an old member of TNT)).
